I do receive the same error message as Jake in my environment. It seems to be a problem with the proxy, which is a proxy with authentication. Even if the service account user of portal is allowed to access the internet via proxy, it does not work correctly.

Hi Jonathan, thanks for your fast response! You're were right, I did forget to configure the forward proxy. I do know the steps to configure a disconnected environment and additionally we already gave internet access to the service account who is hosting the portal service, but we forget to add the proxy in portal. After we added it, the "store credentials" option showed up. It's not working in the moment, but that seems to be another problem (--> https://community.esri.com/thread/192964-add-agol-service-to-portal-for-acrgis-store-the-cerdentials ) Thank you!

What is the background reason for the "store credentials with item" option in Portal for ArcGIS? When does is appear and when not? I would like to use ArcGIS Online Services in my ArcGIS Enterprise (10.5) infrastructure - especially the World traffic service, which is a secured service. No problem, right? So I took the Service URL and added it in my Portal (My Content -> Add item from internet ). Additionally I entered my ArcGIS Online credentials, but I was not able to store credentials in this case. I would like to store the credentials with the item and I thought that it was possible with the option "Store credentials with service item. Do not prompt for authentication". In this case, I don't have the option for storing the credentials and I don't know why. What is the reason, that the store credential option appears sometimes and sometimes not? The background is, that we are using a disconnected environment and we want to use the portal server as proxy for the online traffic service and nobody should need to enter the credentials.

We would like to reduce the amount of requests to a map service and therefore store the tiles of a specific area of interest (different for every user of the application) locally on the machine, which is comparable to a browser cache. This functionality is not (out-of-the-box) supported by the sdk, but maybe somebody does know this requirement. Any ideas or workarounds?

Hi Lee, i guess you have to provide your ArcGIS Online Login Credentials. There are two ways to add the Tiled Basemap layer: (1) via Add Data -> ArcGIS Server -> URL or (2) Add ArcGIS Online Data --> Search for "Tiled Basemaps" -> Esri. But in both cases you have to enter your ArcGIS Online credentials, which you probably don't have when you are using a trial version of ArcGIS Desktop. Best regards, Stefan

Is it possible to locate an object in ArcPad by a baseline? Thus I don't want to use the direct GPS based position, but record 2 reference points for a baseline and afterwards, it should be possible to record base points in a 90° angle and to this line by defining the distance to the line. Like this: Ususally, this is a common workflow but i don't know how to use it in ArcPad.

Dear all, i found a GeoEvent Processor Example from Esri which seems to be really great: http://sharpenyourgis.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=42bbc4283b2b408dbc71d4ecc97aa032 + Video: http://video.esri.com/watch/3038/sharpen-your-skills-_dash_-geoevent-processor The whole Documentation seems to be very detailed and it uses different GEP Connectors as well as the Dashboard. So far so good. I wanted to use the Example to have a deeper look into GEP, but there is one step in the beginning i could not reproduce. One of the first steps is to copy the Feature Classes from the GEP.gdb to a Enterprise or Workgroup Geodatabase. Where can i find this GDB-File? There is only onw folder called DATA which contains a Map Package. The Map Package contains the MXD files for ArcGIS Version 10.0 and 10.1 but nothing more. Does anybody of you already tried this tutorial out or can have a look at it what i did wrong? Best regards, nomeus

Or perhaps this question is better: I'm still not sure about the answer of my last question, but i guess it's a problem with Client and Server site, that the GP needs a file which is provided on the server and not in the local file system, right? But i have another GP Service which saves the Shapefile in my Scratworkspace and i want to use this Shapefile in my GP Service ... I have no clue how to manage this ...

Hi, just in addition to my last problem a little question: I've already shown you my function, which uses a parameter out of the coice list:
private function generateDiagram():void
{
var paramName:String = "Feature_Layer";
var paramValue:String = "scotturb_lines_ida_half_test";
var params:Object = { paramName : paramValue };
gp2.submitJob(params);
} And it works. But when i want to use a shapefile, which is not in the choice list (screen1.png from Ivan), for example with a full absolute path like "C:\arcgisserver\....\testfile" it doesnt work. But i want to learn more about geoprocessing services and would like to know why this doesn't work. Can somebody explain it to me? What should i change (or do differently) to make it working? Why can't he access the file? The error message when i want to use it looks like: "description":"The value does not exist.
ERROR 000732: Input locations: Dataset C:/arcgisserver/arcgisinput/testfile does not exist or is not supported"

Dear Ivan, thank you very much for your help! It's not exactly what i searched for, but i goes in the right direction. I haven't recognized the DataExtractWidget yet, but it's really good! I rebuilded and edited the GP-Service (Data Extract Task) on my own Server and included it in my WebGIS. It's working with my predefined parameters and configuration 🙂 After that, i tried out how to save the Shapefile locally on the server instead of zipping (and downloading) it. I recognised quickly that it is not possible just to edit the "Data Extract Task" of the Server-Toolbox. Later, i checked the python code and found the lines where he zip's the whole folder and saves it. But my python & programming knowledge is not good enough to change this code to saving the shapefile (and shx, dbf, ..) in another folder (if necessary). Because my idea was to save this path and give it to the other GP-Service then ...

Hey everybody, i'm searching for a way to export selected features as shp-file to a geoprocessing service. Therefore i edited the standard Flex search-widget to draw a shape and select the features. No i want to send this selected features to my geoprocessing service, which expects a shapefile. I had already a look at the "Export to Shapefile" Widget-Code (http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=d8dc9df78ec643a9a27c18a6f01b41c1) to get some ideas, but here the user doesn't select Features. To be honest, i'm not a very experienced programmer, but i would like to ask if my purpose is doable and if you can give me some hints? Or perhaps somebody has a good idea for me which is the best way to go? I would be grateful for any information, Stefan

Hello everybody, i'm not sure if this post fits to the Schematics-Forum or in the Flex-API-Forum or in the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex-Forum, so i decided to put it here. I'm using the Flex-Viewer for an WebGIS with some functionalities. One of them is to generate schematic Diagrams with a Geoprocessing Service. After developing this Widget & GP-Service, the process is working and i can generate the diagram. It is saved in a Schematic Dataset on the Server. Is it possible to show this schematic diagram in the FlexViewer? In a Popup or within the widget would be the best solution, but i'm not sure if it's possible, Currently i have just one idea: I can convert this diagram to Features and display this new Features as Layers. Are there other / better possibilities? In the Sample Gallery, API-Documentation and other Forums i sadly can't find Examples with Flex and Schematics. Best regards, Stefan
