You would add your intermediate and root certificates to the appropriate certificate store on the machine that you are using the certificate on. Just the same way you would add them if you used that certificate for IIS.

I'm getting the following error message when attempting to add .tiff files to a mosaic dataset, and selecting "Update Boundary". "Could not compute the union geometry of primary datasets in the mosaic dataset." This happens when adding the data to an empty mosaic dataset in an enterprise geodatabase, and I see it sometimes when adding files to a mosaic dataset in a file geodatabase as well, though it doesn't seem to start happening until after a few hundred files have been added first. I've tried searching for this exact error message, and it doesn't appear anywhere that I can find. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm having problems adding raster datasets to a mosaic dataset contained in an Oracle enterprise geodatabase. I create the dataset. Then add a raster, which at first, seems to work... However, attempting to view the contents of the mosaic dataset just shows a bunch of errors... Attempting to add any more rasters to the mosaic dataset causes unique constraint violations... Any updating of boundaries, or cell calculation causes errors, essentially nothing works. Clearly I'm missing some fundamental step in my process, but I don't know what it is. I can add these same rasters to a mosaic dataset inside a file geodatabase without any issues, but the project I'm working on will be accessed by hundreds of users, and may need to have multiple sets of data being loaded into it at the same time (presumably this can be done when using an enterprise geodatabase). Any assistance in getting past this very first step would be greatly appreciated!

I upgraded my ArcGIS serve from 10.3.1 to 10.5.1 when I change the case on my rest URL against the 10.5.1 server, I get back a bunch of gibberish. For example, the following URL works just fine and gives me a list of services in one of my 10.3.1 environments. http://<serverName>:6080/ArcGIS/rest However, when I use the same URL against my 10.5.1 environment, I get back something similar to the following... W[8 ~_i j 3$ AlT9 qq6T8!4 2 C sal A K 0 p#" 5 tH r O $V e*sM hCa 4a<m z;dp m6 t ` b6 ="" e@_\0 5 m:n@0]gaynq \ܑ="" Ɠ ݑ @k="" 0rmx n_gsq| m &:{ ªrˠ;w;5s ;="" )c!\@;p`j;i٪ fd="+tyk ף㽕" zguݐg9zbju="" style="color: #000000; font-weight: normal;">tY111q/>& Y%S R3M =N-D 1 kJXa>F5O쫖wOOO!k x'ƽj B*VLs}b | L dH}iv-[Q/ 9ɵ&S<5Lҁ):{]Zv c 5 @ٸ7 0ʖ ߠ"}u2j_ R\F Uurief 9B/L*J~ 4j ; 4'5$Nq.ݤx AKHa6(u qЅ_ _ n- R| d|Q e\BSdYJ~ rA ;?C:X&e Yt B.w{ؽc`4c U3c`6c ߌ? Y31ϛϟm ے 8YK'b + <FR \1e=1{O 0TգF? h228 _C' C_ $BƸ , *o w s b+R= <Ԡ47qۜ6u np]foV bb@Eގʽ=~4qzWi~ v % _*l r'o d2bG+4m q?(9. I rebuilt the site using a shorter path name, and publishing the service worked just fine with the longer name. Thanks again!

Hmm... the config stores are in similar paths, but the new one is a bit longer. I'll try this with a shorter path name on the config store directory. Thanks for the suggestion!

It seems I spoke too soon... I can rename the service, but after it is renamed, it won't start. I get the following error message when trying to start the service. I should note that I have a workaround of sorts, I can publish the service with a shorter name then rename it. The process seems to fail, but it looks like the service gets renamed. I'd rather not have to do this, but I don't see any setting anywhere that would limit the name size of a service.

I'm having a problem publishing a geoprocessing service in which the name exceeds 19 characters on ArcGIS Server 10.5.1. The service will stage and I can build a service definition just fine, but when I go to publish it, if the name of the service exceeds 19 characters, the publish will fail. I've gone as far as to strip everything out of the python script the service calls, it still fails if the name is too long. I have instances that I've upgraded from 10.3.1 to 10.5.1 and the service in question exists on an upgraded 10.5.1 server, but I cannot create the service on a fresh install. Any ideas on how to make this work would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I've recently upgraded my ArcGIS server from 10.0 to 10.2, and I need to figure out how to replace the ArcSDE commands that I used to register my feature classes and spatial views with python commands. The situation is that each year, a number of spatial tables are copied to new schemas, and the tables are then registered within SDE. Essentially I was previously using commands similar to the following... sdelayer -o delete -l W_FIELD_EXPORT_SV,shape -u <user> -i <instance> -p <password> -N sdelayer -o register -l W_FIELD_EXPORT_SV,shape -e nac+ -t ST_GEOMETRY -C OBJECT_ID,SDE -E -13744558,2980372,-7409316,6335845 -R 39 -u <user> -i <instance> -p <password> sdetable -o describe -t W_FIELD_EXPORT_SV -u <user> -i <instance> -p <password> sdetable -o grant -t W_FIELD_EXPORT_SV -U VIEW_AGS -A SELECT -u <user> --p <password> -i <instance> I've found the arcpy.RegisterWithGeodatabase_management toolbox command, but the drawback to that is that it seems that there is no way to specify a column other than OBJECTID for the ID column. As is shown in my example the column OBJECT_ID is being used for the ID. The toolbox command also does not let me specify the feature class envelope (-E), or the spatial reference ID (-R). Perhaps those parameters are no longer necessary with ArcGIS 10.2? Any help, or explanations about how I should go about replacing this process would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Robert

Okay, so I've read this before, and just as a test, I turned off my database and my map still seems to function just fine, which means the data must have been copied to the local server. This brings up several questions. * How do I tell if the server is using data from a database, or data that has been copied local to the server? * Where is this data copied to? * How do I tell the service to stop using local data, and get it's data from a data store instead? * When I publish my service, how do I tell it to use a data store in the cluster I'm publishing to? I want to publish using python scripts if possible. For instance, the CreateMapSDDraft function has a boolean value for whether or not to copy the data to the server, but nowhere do I see any way to tell it to use a specific data store. Hopefully I can find some of the answers to these questions on my own, but any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I'm just confused on how to actually use the data store. When I create a service definition from an mxd, the connection information is already stored inside the mxd, at no point in time do I see any option to change that connection information to reference the data store of a particular cluster. If I want to change the data source for my layers within ArcCatalog, there doesn't seem to be any way to have it reference a data store instead of pointing to a .sde connection file.

I'm still not certain what is going on here though, it sounds like we're just "tricking" the mxd to use the same connection as the data store, not overriding what is in the mxd with the connection information associated with the data store for a particular server. From what I can tell, I don't need a data store at all, everything I've published works just fine and dandy due to the way I already had things configured (the publisher and server have similar folders with .sde connection files in them). This isn't any different from what I was doing with 10.0.

I'm currently in the process of upgrading from ArcGIS 10.0 to ArcGIS 10.2 and one of the new features is the cluster based data store. I have no problems creating connections in my data store, but when I'm creating my service definitions, it appears to pull the connection information right out of the .mxd files. It would be nice to create a service definition file that references a named data store on a server, then be able to publish that definition to servers in various environments and have it use the connection information specific to that environment without having to modify the connection information in the .mxd files for each environment. Perhaps I'm missing something, but so far, I haven't figured out how to make ANY service use the data store connection information.

Thanks Jake! I was trying to map the .gdb folder inside of ArcCatalog instead of the folder above it and ArcCatalog was having none of it. After seeing your post, I shared the parent folder and now things are working smoothly.
