This is a very helpful example for me too! It does pull in that data successfully, however I am also showing a CORS error in the console. Should that not be appearing with examples? I also have it after this tutorial Get an access token | ArcGIS for Developers and this tutorial Query a feature layer | ArcGIS for Developers .

In my console I am getting this warning: "A cookie associated with a cross-site resource at http://arcgis.com/ was set without the `SameSite` attribute. A future release of Chrome will only deliver cookies with cross-site requests if they are set with `SameSite=None` and `Secure`. You can review cookies in developer tools under Application>Storage>Cookies and see more details at https://www.chromestatus.com/feature/5088147346030592 and https://www.chromestatus.com/feature/5633521622188032" Is this something I need to adjust in my website or something that ArcGIS will prepare for? This error also appears for my reference to OpenStreetMap and another site. All the errors in my console are a bit alarming for a junior dev! Thanks very much!

Thank you very much for all of your help! I have a slider now and am rejoicing! Here is a codepen that I hope will help other people. I found that featureLayers work just fine, but ArcGUSDynamicMapServiceLayers require "layer._div = map.root" even though I don't understand what this does. https://codepen.io/RochelleWolfe/pen/YmLKYG

Hello I am adding a LayerSwipe to my website, and get this error: LayerSwipe::Invalid layer type The layers displayed in the map currently are featureLayers. Here's the bit of code that I think it ties to var layerIds = currentMap.layerIds; console.log(layerIds); // displays ["layer0", "layer1"] var layer = layerIds[1]; console.log(layer); // displays layer1 var swipeWidget = new LayerSwipe ({ type: "vertical", map: currentMap, layers: [layer] }, "swipeWidgetId"); swipeWidget.startup(); When ran I get this error: LayerSwipe::Invalid layer type Any advice for solving this will be greatly appreciated, as I feel I am so close to bringing this functionality to my website. Thanks very much!

Hello, my need is very similar, I have managed to display a geoserver wms layer in my arcgis js project, but beginning to display information from that layer is overwheming, I am pretty new to development. Could you please share a working example with codepen or fiddlerjs or similar? Some of the variables referenced in these code snippets are not defined within them, leaving me questioning what value I will need to replace them with.

Hello, I am developing using the JavaScript 3.28 api, and am working on making my webpage responsive for touchscreen. This page has content after the map, and the user needs to drag the page up (scroll). Initially the user would infinitely pan the map until I disabled pan, but now the user still cannot drag the page up (to scroll down the page). Can someone in the community please offer suggestions for how to fix this? Thanks very much. #arcgis javascript api 3.28 #arcgis-js-3.28 #touch screen

Thank you Ken. I am sad to hear it's not ready, but I see 4.11 only just came out six months ago. Onward building I go!

Hello, I have been enjoying the 4.11 argis api for javascript, and in my latest storymap I would like to include swipe/layer transition. However, I haven't found any examples of a swiping storymap using 4.x and notice the developer api doesn't make any mention of swipe. Must I revert back to 3.x?
