Thanks. I ended up restoring a backup of this toolbox - I manage to reconstruct most of them while others were in a continuous authoring process. Thanks again, Gal

Hi Dan Thanks for your reply. The scripts were saved to a none default location - they are stored, and available on my c:\ drive. The tools referencing these scripts are not available under that toolbox, as well as the tool sets. As I mentioned: 1. I can't add the toolbox to the toolbox pan in ArcMap. 2. There were also other models in that toolbox - none of them available. The toolbox seems to be empty when accessed through ArcCatalog. Gal

Hi All Recently I've upgraded ArcGIS Desktop on my machine - removing the 10.4.1 version, restarting the machine and installing the 10.5.1 version. I then opened my of mxd saved under 10.4 - all went well. When tried adding a toolbox created in previous version (containing several models as well as script tools, organized in 3 different tool sets), it won't added to the toolboxes pan in ArcMap. When tried accessing the toolbox through ArcCatalog , the toolbox seems empty. I then tried loading the toolbox into a total new mxd file saved with the newly installed version - again with no success. I appreciate any help on this, thanks in advance Gal Avraham

Hi I'm trying to figure out how to extract a value of records returned from a Select by Location model I built. Here's the process (in bold, the parameters name as defined in the model its picture is attached to this post): The process starts with the execution of a 'Select by Location' tool, in which the user select a certain feature from a defined feature layer, (AttachGeometry) using a featureset (InteractiveSelect)- this part of the tool goes fine easily as a selection is evident after the model finishes its run. I then use the 'Iterate Field Values' tool over the returned feature(s) (SelectedLocations), aiming at garbing the unique value (DocID) for a specific field - this is where, as I suspect, my problem, as no value is 'transferred' to the next step of the process. This value is then transferred (as In line parameter, as can be see in the picture attached to this post) to a 'Select by Attribute' tool, for retrieving the matching records in another table, based on this value The process ends when the selected records are exported as a new table (Results). As noted above, the 'Iterate Field Values' returns no values, thus no selection is made when the 'Select by Attribute' section of the model is executed - a new table is created, with no records in it. I receive the following message for the exported records: 'WARNING 000117: Warning empty output generated'. Any help will be appreciated. Gal

Hi All I have trouble attaching files while offline mode. Attaching and uploading attachments while online mode goes easily with no issues, and I can view the features and attachments using ArcMap Workflow within the Collector producing the issue I've created within our Portal instance, a Web Map, hosting a Cache + Feature services hosted on our ArcGIS Server instance. Offline mode was successfully enabled. The map was downloaded to the mobile device with no issues. Then turned the wifi off on the device. I was able adding features, taking picture using device camera / attaching a picture stored on device. the Picture is displayed, with a text saying "Downloaded". Once the V sign is clicked, the Collector displays the "Posting Attachments..." message which keeps displaying for several minutes, untill I "brutally" shuts down the collector. Technical details ArcGIS Server/Portal 10.3. Device Model - SM-T700 Android Version 4.4.2 Appreciate any help, Gal

Jeremy Take a look at this link - it includes an implementation of Jenks?? Natural Breaks Algorithm, in Python. http://danieljlewis.org/2010/06/07/jenks-natural-breaks-algorithm-in-python/ Keep in mind that the number of classes is yet to be determined by the user. Here's a direct the link to the algorithm: http://danieljlewis.org/files/2010/06/Jenks.pdf Cheers, Gal

Many thanks Brian for the explanation. This came shortly before the measure add-in was added to the code gallery, so we've implemented the add-in rather than looking into the code. Thanks again. Gal

I'm having the same issue with an application containing this add-in, yet in an unconsistent manner: for some of the computers accessing this application everything is going just fine (am able to use this add-in with no trouble), but for others - am getting the "Extension Load Failed" message when trying to edit the application, and a blank window browser when trying to access it. I'm using ArcGIS Server 10.0 installed on a local machine (Win 7 Pro). Please note me if other further details are needed in order to tackle this issue. Thanks in advance Cheers, Gal

Brian, many thanks for sharing this tool. I was looking for such implementation. Can you supply, for a non-programmer, a short explanation on how to add this functionality to an already deployed application? Where exactly in code one need to add this in order to have the measure tool available for the user? Thanks in advance Gal

Hi katy Many thanks for the prompt reply. I've been able to add this functionality to the viewer, and it's working properly. Now I need to find out where the TOC section in the code is. As you said a bit of fiddling is needed, so happy fiddling to me :). Many thanks , again Cheers, Gal

Hello Katy I find this "how-to" very useful, as this is the exact type of functionality I'm looking to implement in a demo for one of our costumer. Unfortunately, I'm not a developer and I'm getting hard time figuring out how to use this sample within an application I've deployed earlier. I hope this is not to much to ask, but can you supply a specific directions to none programmers on how to implement this sample? What I wish to have in hand is the opacity slider control for each of the layers (except for the basemap) added to the application. Is it possible? Correct me if wrong, but I guess that it will be much easier to add this functionality to one/any of the xaml layouts installed with the builder (located under ...Builder\Templates\Default\Config\Layouts). Thus, any application that will be deployed will have this functionality available. Or maybe it will be more realistic to add it to a specific application/specific layer in that application? In either of these cases my questions are: 1. Where exactly within the code I need to put the sample you supplied? 2. After adding it to the code, how do one deploys it? Is there a need for "compiling" the source code (we do have MS Visual Studio 2010 installed on the testing server) 3. How to "Tie" this functionality to the desired layer specified in the table of content (except for the basemap)? I hope I'm not missing anything. Many thanks in advance, Cheers, Gal Avraham

Yes, Geoportal Server (not Geoportal Toolkit) is the solution for your need. No, you don't need to use ArcGIS Server Services. But you will have to connect to ArcGIS Online to access some maps for your embedded viewer. Just to let you know, you can download the OpenSource version of Geoportal Server here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/geoportal/ thanks aitor. I'm familiar with the availability of the Geoportal at sourceforge. btw - what is the difference between the Geoportal Server and the Geoportal toolkit?

Hi All I'm new to the Geoportal Toolkit. I crossed its functionality looking for a solution to the mid-weight firm I'm working for. I'll briefly introduce our needs hopefully some of you will be able to clarify whether or not the Geoportal is a suitable solution for our needs. Our firm is within the field of Surveying and Engineering. As a such most of its projects inputs/outputs data format are taken from the CAD/GIS world, both in vector (dwg/dxf/shp/coverage) and raster (tiff/JPG/ecw etc.) formats. As for now, all project data and information are organized within the firm's local network, in different directories/sub directories. We are looking for a solution that, given a well documented metadata regarding the mass of stored data (a mission that for itself is exhaustive and hard labor), will assist the firm users in locating the relevant project data and information by means of both spatial and none spatial (i.e text phrases) search capabilities: drawing the approximate project extent on a map/using some code words, or the integration of both. Once the search query is executed and returned from the server, the user will be able to sort through a list of candidate data sources relevant to the search criteria. The user will be than able to download the data to his own workstation, or alternatively, will be given the possibility to browse to the location where the files are stored, and than to copy the data to his workstation using the OS capabilities. Going over the Geoportal documentation, I understand such working scenario is supported by the Geoportal Toolkit. What I'm missing is whether or not such scenario is dependant on consuming ArcGIS Server services for displaying the map and extracting the data from it's storage location (using the download tab, as mentioned here: http://webhelp.esri.com/geoportal_extension/9.3.1/gpt_datadownload.htm). As I mentioned, we are looking for a mean of locating and accessing the data. There is no need for data extraction/manipulation what so ever. To conclude, here are my questions: 1. Given the above mentioned working scenario, is Geoportal is a possible solution for our needs? My feeling is that in general the answer to that Q. is Yes, although some modifications are required. 2. Does the implementation of the Geoportal toolkit will require ArcGIS Server services, as mentioned in the online help? 3. If the answer to Q. No. 2 is Yes, are there any online solution for such services one can access, or does it mean that we'll have to purchase an ArcGIS Server? I hope that I'm not missing any other detail. Many thanks in advance Cheers, Gal Avraham Medva - Survey & ??Engineering Ltd, ??Israel
