Hello, my Web adapter currently can’t connect to any server machines (error attached). I tried following the advice here (adapting for ubuntu but still editing the host file) and it didn’t work. Is there an additional steps to get webadaptor to connect to ArcServer? Or alternatively, are there any logs I can look at in web adapter so I can troubleshoot my self? I have successfully connected to the server and registered it with the web adaptor (VMCKAY as seen in attachment) and have added the server to my Ubuntu hosts file. I am currently running Web Adapter 10.6.1 in tomcat 5.4.24 with Java 1.8.0_201 on Ubuntu Desktop 16.04.5 as a Virtual Machine using VMWARE workstation 15.0.3 (bridged connection so my server machine is on the same network as my web adapter) running on Ubuntu Server 18.04.2. My arcserver install is ArcGIS Server for linux 10.6.1 running on Ubuntu Server 16.04.5 s a Virtual Machine using VMWARE workstation 15.0.3 (bridged connection so my server machine is on the same network as my web adapter) running on Ubuntu Server 18.04.2. I am able to ac I also tried connecting to a windows install of ArcServer 10.61 and got the same thing.

I just wanted to follow up on this because I needed to do this and the above sql failed for me. So in case anyone out there is looking for a SQL solution contained in a def query, I re-wrote the query to something that worked (for me), remembering this will only work forfeature classes stored in a SDE, not a file geodatabase replace: featureclass the name of your feature class Point The name field for your feature class, in the original question called "Point" DATE The date field of your feature class you are trying to get the latest date of OBJECTID IN (SELECT OBJECTID FROM featureclass a JOIN (SELECT Point, MAX (date) DATE FROM featureclass GROUP BY Point) b ON a.Point = b.Point AND a.DATE = b.DATE)

do you have any instructions for n00bz on how to get this running in ubuntu? I followed the readme in the API and "making" just resulted in a bunch of errors like ../../lib/libFileGDBAPI.so: undefined reference to `_wtoi64(wchar_t const*)' ../../lib/libFileGDBAPI.so: undefined reference to `CLSID_FIDSet'

Randal, thanks! I installed tomcat 8.0.32 and it still didn't work - but at least i now know that it is my machine and someone out there managed to get it to work! A little beacon of light to work towards. Now, I just need to dive in and figure out why my linux instance isn't working. Thanks for replying to my question - it is good to know there are others out there that can get this working and it isn't a exercise in futility!

Then why does the adaptor work fine in tomcat 8.5.23 in Windows (also tomcat 9.0.1 {beta} - i tested this too) on port 8080? Here are the requirments for windows tomcat (http://server.arcgis.com/en/web-adaptor/10.4/install/java-windows/arcgis-web-adaptor-system-requirements.htm) - but i have it working in Windows with tomcat 8.5.23 even though is says 8.0.38. Do you have an actual linux web adaptor communicating to a windows Arcserver instance currently that works?

Hello, I am trying to use a webadaptor instance on Linux to connect to ArcServer instance running in Windows and I get a generic error that my login is no good. The problem is that my login info is good as I can sign into ArcServer manager from my Linux box. The esri help on the subject says it should work. Additionally, if i use the Webadaptor Java version for windows (Windows tomcat 8.5.23) - it connects easy peasy, 1, 2, 3 with default settings. My question is: Has anyone out there successfully connected a Linux Web adaptor to a Windows ArcServer instance? If so, did you have to do anything special to get it to work? My set up: (Both machines are Hyper-V virtual machines on the same physical server) Web Adaptor Hyper V Generation 1 machine Centos7 esri Web Adaptor 10.4.1 for Linux Tomcat 8.5.23, port 8080 Java open sdk 1.8.x port 8080 is open ArcServer instance Hyper V Generation 2 machine Windows 2012 R2 ArcServer 10.4.1 Advanced Ports 6080 & 6443 are open

Hello, I am trying to make a basic web page. I have two feature layers, a polygon feature layer and then a point feature layer, both in the same mapping service: mapping serviceA/0 = polygon mapping serviceA/1 = point in my app, which i am creating using Javascript API obviously, i want to have a different infowindow pop up for when a user clicks a point vs a polygon. I though i could just define the templates differently when i declare the feature layer, code below - but it ends up defaulting to the second info template. I know it can be done because i see it all the time, i just don't know how to do it with the javascript API. All of the samples and such just show how to work with info templates for one layer, not two. Can anyone help me? var popup = new Popup({ fillSymbol: new SimpleFillSymbol(SimpleFillSymbol.STYLE_SOLID, new SimpleLineSymbol(SimpleLineSymbol.STYLE_SOLID, new Color([255, 0, 0]), 2), new Color([255, 255, 0, 0.25])) }, domConstruct.create("div")); map = new Map("map", { sliderOrientation: "vertical", center: [-122.15, 37.85], zoom: 11, basemap: "streets", infoWindow: popup, logo: false, showLabels: true }); // Polygon template var template = new InfoTemplate(); template.setContent("Number of Main Breaks: ${OMGDB.%MainBreaks.GWO}"); template.setTitle("BMAP ${OMGDB.BMAP.BMAP}"); // Point template var gwoTemplate = new InfoTemplate(); template.setContent("GWO Number: ${GWO}"); template.setTitle("BMAP: ${BMAP}"); // Polygon Feature Layer var breaks = new FeatureLayer("http://localmapservice/MapServer/2", { mode: FeatureLayer.MODE_ONDEMAND, id: "breaks", className: "text", infoTemplate: template, outFields: ["*"] }); // Point Feature Layer var breaksplot = new FeatureLayer("http:http://localmapservice/MapServer/0", { mode: FeatureLayer.MODE_ONDEMAND, id: "breaksplot", infoTemplate: gwoTemplate, outFields: ["GWO", "BMAP"] }); i then tried adding the following lines hoping it would do something but alas, it did not: dojo.connect(breaks, "onClick", function () { //map.infoWindow.resize(100, 100) breaks.infoTemplate = template; }); dojo.connect(breaksplot, "onClick", function () { breaksplot.infotempalte = gwoTemplate; });

The answer is in the $CATALINA_HOME variable! in my case /var/lib/tomcatx folder. when you look up the variable, you get where the home dir is then you can find the webapp dir. not sure why my "find" command didn't work, but hopefully this helps someone else thanks for your help, guys!

I've been spinning my wheels for hours now on google. I am trying to install a webadaptor instance on Fedora 22 64 bit and all the pages i am googling are just "install arcgis.war into default webapp folder" but i can't find where that is! i even checked the friggin httpd/conf file and there is no mention. a whereis command on my server looking for webapp produced nothing. can someone tell me where the default webapp folder for apache is? i can assure you i didn't do anything fancy with my apache installation and just accepted the defaults.
