Hello, I have an mxd file with around 100 layers and group layers. I'm trying to loop through all group layers and find out if they're empty or not (contains Feature class(es) or not). If a group layer is empty, I want to remove that group layer from the map. I found the script to remove the group layer, but I couldn't figure out how to check if the group layer is empty or not Anyone can help? Thank you

I'm trying to use SaveToLayerFile_management to save layers (in an mxd) pointing to features in the server "Internet", but it doesn't work When I use ArcToolbox (SaveToLayerFile) it doesn't work neither. However, I can save it manually by right-clocking on the feature and save it as... Is there a Python command that allowes me to save such layers? If it's not possible, how can I skip those layers and save the rest of the layers in the mxd file? This is my code: for lyr in lyrs:
l_name = lyr.longName
layer_name = l_name.replace("_"," ")
layer_name = layer_name.replace("\\","_")
arcpy.SaveToLayerFile_management(lyr,ws + '\\' + layer_name + '.lyr', "RELATIVE") Thank you

I'm trying to copy data from one field to another. I wrote a script, but it dioesn't work, I get the following error message: "The calculated value is invalid for the row with the ObjectID = 1. For example, the calculated value may be too large for teh field or you may be trying to add a string to a number field. This row will not be updated" The source and destination fields in my script are identical, both are string fields with 255 characters length. I don't know where the problem is!!! Here's my code: import arcpy import os arcpy.env.workspace = r"Test_geodatabase_path" arcpy.CalculateField_management("Test_FC_name", "Test", "Tes2") Please help...
