AppStudio for ArcGIS is based on Qt 5.6.0. However Qt itself is usually licensed under LGPL. It means if we publish our Android APP via Google Play store or Apple’s App Store, the final user must be able to replace the Qt Libraries. No one would do this for a mobile APP, but these are the rules which make sense if Qt is used for Device Creation in embedded market. So I am wondering that in case of we would sell or distribute commercial apps using AppStudio for ArcGIS, if the license of Qt creator included in the AppStudio is totally proper according LGPL. Or if maybe the version of Qt included in AppStudio uses a commercial license instead the LGPL one. I don't know. Anybody knows something about it? Rafael

Hi there, I am trying to implement a ServiceLocator using QML (AppStudio). It works great in a general sense as you can see below: However I miss the suggestion property I used to have when I worked with the javascript API. I was having a look at the QML API but I am not able to see any word about suggestions. Any clue? Thanks, Rafael Fernandez

Hi Robert, I miss Angular. WAB is not working super well with Angular and React seems the perfect substitute. I am starting to code some silly examples and ... not my words but ...it gives you the ability to create your own components that you can later reuse, combine, and nest to your heart’s content. React.js calculates what changes need to be made in the DOM beforehand and updates the DOM tree accordingly. This way, React.js avoids costly DOM operations and makes updates in a very efficient manner. I mean, the last very basic widget I did in WAB 2.0 using regular javascript had more than 1k code lines. myWidget Besides, if Facebook, Instagram or the New York Times are using React...probably is because it is not a such bad idea. What do you think? Rafael

Hi, I am trying to get a message, pop up or whatever from the Search widget when no suggestions were found. I am using WAB 2.0. I am using a feature layer. Search settings are: So if the user types a street which is actually inside the feature layer, it works as expected and then suggestions show up: However, if the user types something weird, then the Search widget can't find any suggestion which is fine, but there will not be messages or information for the user at all, which is bad since the user didn't know what is going on. So my questions is...can I modify the widget in order to get a kind of message like this, without press any button or enter key, just after the user types 3 characters? Thanks!! Rafael

Hi there, I am developing a new site in my organization using WAB 2.0. When the website is reached for any user, a modal dialog shows up asking for user and password: After the user types his/her credentials, the idea is to validate, then close (hide) the login dialog and then if the user has admin privileges, a new widget will be shown in the app. But if the user has not admin privileges, then no widget will be shown. Anybody knows if this approach is doable? thanks, Rafael

I disagree. Leaflet only is a small part of Openlayers. It is cool, but you can not do many things.

I think people working on Openlayers are doing more interesting works than people working on Esri API javascript. when I am looking for basic stuff such as gallery maps, etc, Esri API is great, but if I need something more complex like a good editing tools or a different print solution where I can controll any parameter, in this case, you can become crazy. I find Openlayers more flexible and its solutions are wider. what dou you think?

Same problem for me. I have set up the Election Polling places app. Everything is working just fine and the map is public. I tried it out on my iphone and an android tablet and all the layers show up just fine. When I click on the map to find my polling place, and I click on the box that is supposed to show me the Polling place details for that area, nothing shows up in the Details box. The directions and the Comment parts work just fine, just can't get the polling place details to show up at all. Same thing happens if I just tap on the polling place points. Is there some setting you have to set somewhere that allows this info to be populated on mobile devices? Below is the area of the config.js with the services. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or help. // ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, I have just created this application: http://map.stjohns.ca/mapcentre2/map...2TestPage.html But as you can see, the Zoom Full Extent in the Navigation control is not working. I am using epsg:32181 projection on my map. Any suggestion or advice are welcome, because I spent a lot of time looking for a solution, but I think it is a bug. BTW, Silverlight 5 and ArcGIS API 3.1 Thanks, Rafael I found a solution. Perhaps it is not the more orthodox solution, but it works: private void MyMap_ExtentChanged(object sender, ExtentEventArgs e)
{
if (MyMap.Extent.XMin < 280000 || MyMap.Extent.XMax > 352000 || MyMap.Extent.YMin < 5220000 || MyMap.Extent.YMax > 5300000)
{
double xmax = 347578.663;
double ymax = 5280116.623;
double xmin = 288990.972;
double ymin = 5239463.940;
ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Geometry.Envelope streetEnv = new ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Geometry.Envelope(xmax, ymax, xmin, ymin);
MyMap.ZoomTo(streetEnv);
}
} So when the user doing click over the Full Extent Button, this function 'fixes' the map extent. I hope this solution is useful for more people. Rafael
