I came up with a really stupid looking work around. It only works if your filter bank is OR'd, but if you have a filter with "Apply this filter automatically" and that always evaluates to false, this keeps the layer hidden until they turn on another clause in the OR group. It looks stupid because you to have this workaround filter at the top of the list and that you'd have to name something like "Hide layer when not filtered" or "Don't turn this off". A silly workaround for this is that I'm just going to put an opaque text box on top of that workaround filter so people can't see it.

Exact same issue and I more or less was thinking about the exact same workaround as TimLohnes1 with the exact same problem that the group layers can't be expanded by default. I'm also considering the OR option and just letting users know having more than one option selected displays them all.

I was hoping for way to do this too. I had the idea for a workaround having multiple layer widgets and moving all the group layers to the root of the map and configuring the visible layers in each widget to simulate layer groups. I couldn't go this route though because then I couldn't use the exclusive visibility option available with group layers.

It's still not clear to me what the equivalent tool is to "Generate Services Areas". That tool created something useful and it was simple to use and understand. I feed it a point layer, some intervals and it outputs polygons showing the regions that can be reached in those drive time intervals. The inputs are one layer and a list of times.

I've been encountering this a lot as well. It only seems to happen on the first load though, a simple F5 or if I've viewed it recently it'll be fine. This is such a huge aesthetic issue I'm wondering why it still seems to persist, or if there's some kind of workaround to get it to size correctly the first time. I'm close to trialing a jank workaround where I find somewhere to host an HTML file which is just a dashboard imbedded with nothing else and does a refresh a second after the page loads the first time.

While learning how to use the syntax for the Export Group I started an export operation using the REST interface. Several times I've found the feedback not being clear whether a job is executing and taking a long time, frozen, or actually completed but the page didn't update. End result is while trying to use the Python API I had started a job, maybe multiple, and would now like to cancel them. What I can't figure out is how to view and look up pending Portal Export jobs. I've found some log tools in the Sever Manager but they all seem to be related to GP tools, and none of the drop down options reference Portal Group Content export jobs. Is there a place I can view any pending jobs and cancel them? I've gotten as far as https://machine.domain.com/webadaptor/sharing/rest/portals/<orgID>/jobs/<jobID> but just browsing to jobs gives me nothing without a jobID. I want to be able to look up all pending jobs to find their IDs. Is there a way of doing that?

I figured out a better work around then creating a bunch of Arcade Expressions to round integers to the nearest integer. Seems like AGOL does honor the significant figures setting, it just won't expose them on integers. I found a double value, cracked open the JSON using AGOL-Assistant to see how it's coded, then used AGOL-Assistant to hard code that key/value pair into the fieldname format part of the map JSON I was trying to fix. { "fieldName": "XMP_AMT2", "format": { "digitSeparator": true, "places": 0 }

Hadn't checked there but it has the same problem as anywhere else; it doesn't have a significant digits drop down because it's an integer. Thanks though. Part of me wonders if there's a way of tricking AGOL into thinking the integers actually are floats or a way of forcing the significant figures drop down to appear on an integer, then I could use it to round those integers to integers.

I have fields which are definitely integers. I have to use WebApp Builder because I need the notification list widget which to my knowledge is not on the product to be ported to Experience Builder, so the map being used is technically the map viewer classic version. When I add these fields to pop-ups in Map Viewer Classic, fields which are definitely integers, they display with 6 decimal places. When I search the method that comes up to fix this is to go into Configure Attributes and change the Format decimal places to 0 decimal places, which AGOL does not provide me the option to do.. because they're integers!! They seem to display fine in the new Map Viewer but since the WebApp Builder uses the pop-up configuration from Map Viewer Classic I get these decimals displaying on integers. Not even all integers, just some so I'm hopeful there is some way to fix this, but I haven't found it yet. The only workaround I've come up with is to use arcade to format these fields, these fields which are integers, to round to the nearest integer. Which happens to be the same value they are, since they're integers. This is a parcel data set and there's over 100 fields in the full version. I don't want to write custom arcade expressions to round every integer into an integer when they are already integers. Anyone have any ideas on where else to investigate why these integers are displaying with 6 decimal places (all zeroes, because they're integers) of accuracy?

I've previously been able to follow this workaround to render large datasets in dashboards. https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000014750 This worked in 10.8 but on a staging server testing things in 10.9.1 I've found the MaxRecordCountFactor does not appear to be honored by Web Maps and apps. Monitoring the browser traffic it appears all queries sent to the end point have that parameter fixed at 3. Is there any way to set this somewhere else, perhaps in a map's definition? I've only seen ways to modify service definitions. The issue is also compounded by the fact that dashboard filters seem to apply them after the tile requests (as opposed to a web map filter/query which seems to apply before the request to the endpoint) so even if the data set is being filtered down to a manageable level by dashboard filters, because the per tile requests pre-filter exceed the maximum we get missing data. Is there any kind of documentation on what filters are applied when? Like maybe URL parameters behave different so I could try those and replace my selector with web links to the dashboard with a different parameter? It's pretty common that I'd rather a web map or dashboard perform slowly or even outright crash than display a visualization that is arbitrarily omitting data. I've tried some suggested techniques to reduce datasets but they've often at odds with other things I'm trying to do. For example I can reduce a data set dramatically by consolidating stacked points into a count field, but when I then combine that with clustering there is no way to weight the clustering by that field. A cluster combining 2 points with a stacked count of 1 vs. 2 points with a stacked count of 1000 is sized identical because the size is based on feature count, not my stacked count attribute. So then I tried the full dataset and so the cluster size can be set by the actual feature count but now I'm running into this MaxRecordCountFactor which means as higher zooms the cluster totals are completely wrong with no indication that they are incorrect.

I'm running into this issue for Dashboards which users want to interact with on a large touch screen. I didn't even know map rotation was a thing in the new map viewer until I got a request to have it disabled since it was disorienting to have it happen on accident. Also crazy that while there is an orientation indicator on the map viewer I don't see any option for this control in the web map settings in the operations dashboard, either new or old. It's insane that a company devoted to geospatial data doesn't think being able to establish orientation is important for a map.

I didn't even know the ability to rotate a map existed until some users were viewing it on a touch screen and discovered it. Now I'm scrambling to find a way to disable it, but so far I've only found a way to do it if you're in the JavaScript API, not a normal web map.

I found the bug report mentioned, but the closest thing to August 4 is the version it was fixed in listed as 9.4. The problem is, that version seems to correspond to the Operations Dashboard version, but I have no idea how to tell which version is packaged in Enterprise 10.9.1, nor if there is any mechanism to just patch this part of it to a version that actually works in this situation.

It's also a little bit clumsily worded. Since the qualifier is phrased, "In ArcGIS Online, this only applies to feature service layers." it implies it works with layers other than feature services as long as you're outside of ArcGIS Online. "This variable is only usable with feature service layers in ArcGIS Online" would have been a lot clearer. Or explicitly saying it does not work with in-memory layers would have also been good.

I've been testing out Arcade expressions with the intent to create some graphs but I'm finding even simple math expressions I cannot get to work. I could just be missing something basic but I'm not starting to wonder if maybe the CSVLayer is incompatible with certain bits of Arcade, specifically some global variables like $layer. I cut down as much as possible and I still can't get a function like Count($layer) to work even though I can access individual features like $feature.year. If I do Count([0,1]) the popup has a 2 like I'd expect. I believe I've gotten Count($layer) to work with a portal item so I think it's something specific to CSVLayer.
