I still have had no luck in setting up a Dataset Map, but Leon's suggestion is quite helpful in providing a way to list all datasets that we have shared. This is what I am planning to use for now: You could put a link on your page that will bring up the full data listing, if that helps. I know its not exactly a list on the homepage, but its a simple work around for the time being. I took this syntax from the D3 site.... http://d3.d3.opendata.arcgis.com/datasets? Leon

I've tested it on Chrome 34 on Windows 7 & unfortunately the result is the same.

I've also tested this on IE 10 on Windows 7, as well as Safari 7 on Mac OSX 10.9.2. Same result.

Thank you for the suggestion. I've actually saved the site several times since adding the groups, but I still have not been able to add dataset maps. I've allowed the widget to cycle for as long as 10 minutes, without receiving any listing of layers. I have configured a "Recent Data" listing, which does work, showing all of the layers in the groups, so I do know that there is valid data for the widget to query.

I'm testing the Open Data Beta, which seems to have some very promising features. It is entirely possible that I am missing something, but it appears that the Widget Editor for a Dataset Map is not working as intended. Attached is a screenshot of what I see, which is an endlessly spinning icon & a scrollbar that moves up and down. The primary group that I have designed as available for Open Data usage is http://amherstma.maps.arcgis.com/home/group.html?owner=olkin&title=Amherst%20MA%20GIS%20Map%20%26%20Data%20Sharing

There is a script will extract attachments to files: http://support.esri.com/em/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/41763 Is there a way to export the attachments out of the database and into a file folder. For instance, I would like to be able to take all of the attachments and produce .jpg images in a folder external to the database. Currently, I would have to open each attachement individually and perform a Save As. This won't fly when I have to do that 1000 times. Having the ability to export all attachements would be ideal. Having the ability to export these attachements and assign a file name based on table attributes would be even better.

It is absolutely absurd that Esri could see that as a reasonable resolution. It does nothing to solve the problem for organizations that have saved hundreds or thousands of MXDs pointing to an enterprise geodatabase.

How soon can we expect export of attachments from a hosted feature service to be an available option? It's currently the primary deterrent against my organization making better use of hosted feature services.

Thanks for posting this solution, which partially solved the issue for me: Go to data frame properies-->Data Frame tab---> Clip options---->clip to current data driven page extent I'm working with a map that uses data driven pages, which makes this solution convenient, but instead of only showing the data frame up to the extent of the data driven page, I wish to show most of the layers in the map a little beyond the extent of the data driven page, in order to provide continuity between the maps. I used the "Exclude Layers" setting in the clip option to display only the layers that were absolutely necessary, eliminating any layers that were in the map strictly for labeling purposes. I did set exclusions for a handful of labeled layers that I wished to preserve beyond the bounds of the data driven pages & to my surprise, none of the labels for these excluded layers showed up outside of the data frame extent. Perhaps this issue is related to the number of anno/labeled layers in a data frame? Another work-around that I did not need to resort to would be to make copies of each labeled layer, make the symbols invisible & leave the labeling on, while turning off the labeling in the original layer. Enabling the clipping for the labeled layers would take care of it, but fortunately I did not need to resort to that.

The Specify WebMap via URL sample shows this. That's a good sample and it uses a URL parameter, but not to select a feature.

I've been interested for quite some time in being able to use url parameters to select & zoom to features by using the parameters in attribute queries. It's disappointing that this basic function is still not included among the ArcGIS API for Javascript code samples. I've gone ahead & developed my own code sample, which I've posted to ArcGIS.com here: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=92ff586d7e934fde9ee62356592f8761 The sample that I posted uses two parameters to select a tax parcel. Clicking a different parcel on the map revises the parameters. The UrlToObject method in the Esri namespace is used to convert the url parameters into variables & the HTML5 Pushstate method is used for updating the parameters when a different parcel is clicked. I hope that this sample is helpful. All suggestions and comments are welcome. Michael Olkin GIS Administrator Town of Amherst, MA http://www.amherstma.gov/maps
