I'm definitely missing this functionality, and I agree that having nameable favs is a must should this be implemented. I'll add two thoughts that are somewhat related: The multiple favorites could perhaps be similar to editing templates (like in Collector) and could be pre-defined by the publisher for easy access by users (my dream come true, really) I have experienced issues with users defining favorites that contain GPS/geopoint information (i.e. they fill out the original form to their liking including capturing their GPS point, then they click add to favorite). Regardless of whether multiple favorites gets implemented, I'll request (in a separate idea) that users be warned when they attempt to save a location to a favorite

I've retried the upload with one of the 'stuck' records with logging enabled and I've attached the output to the original post. Here's approximately what occurred during the logging from my perspective: I opened the outbox I tapped "Send" (app was already logged in) The progress screen indicated "getting service information..." then stuck on "Adding attachment 1 of 1" for several minutes. I then backed out, opened the stuck record and found the question with missing thumbnail but apparently-intact filename When I proceed to click the folder button, navigate to "My Survey Attachments" on the device and scroll toward where the photo should be in the list, the app crashes before I can reach the picture in question When I check the "My Survey Attachments" folder from a USB attached windows PC, the JPG doesn't appear to be there So ultimately the file seems to be getting lost somewhere along the way... Either during upload, or after the offline-user saves the results for upload at a later time... Not sure how best to proceed troubleshooting, as I've been unable to recreate this issue myself and I'm relying on users reporting having collected images as usual.

Thanks Jean-Yves Landry, I had hoped that your example would be the case for my users but I double checked for spelling errors or accidental deletions to no avail... I've logged the transaction to a file and will post the results to James's reply shortly

I've set images to upload at "Large" resolution (from the publishing standpoint, in Survey123 Connect). This hasn't changed since original publication. Should I try lifting image size restrictions? will "Unrestricted" allow images to be captured at the full resolution of the device camera? or will Survey123 still put some reasonable limit on them under the hood? As for the recovery method, I get the same result via the PC after copying and altering the .sqlite file onto my PC, copying the "My Survey Attachments" contents (by this point the image file in question is nowhere to be found in the folder on the device), and running "Fix database" from within the PC app. Same symptoms on the PC that were experienced on the mobile app, filename is there, but no image/thumbnail, causing certain records stick without throwing an error. I'm headed off for the weekend, but I'll log errors and upload the results next week. Thanks for your help!

Hmm, my users aren't obviously renaming things as the filenames still appear to follow the auto-generated scheme (eg: [QuestionName]_yyyymmddhhmm...) but I'll look closely to see if they are accidentally messing up a character or two... I wonder if there is any use-case where manual manipulation of the filename is actually necessary? Could the text field for filename simply be made read-only, forcing users to take the filename that is given when selecting/taking a photo? This would seem to avoid the problem...

First, my setup: -ArcGIS Enterprise 10.5 (Workgroup Advanced with 5 portal users) Base-Installation (portal, server, datastore) hosted on a single Azure -Survey123 App for Android v2.3.29 (though previous versions did this as well) on ASUS MeMo Pad 7 and Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 8" devices (as well as a handful of iPhones, and various moto and samsung phones, depends on what my crew has on hand any given day) -publishing results to the Hosted Feature Service that was created when I first published this survey from Survey123 Connect What happens: My users spend 1-3 days offline collecting data on a form that includes up to 2x places for photos. When they return, they connect to WiFi and initiate sending from their tablet. Without failure, at least one (typically many) of the 12 tablets simply gets stuck at "adding attachment 1 of..." (1 or 2, its not consistent). When I say stuck, I mean hours can go by, days even (weekend), without an error message or a change in state of the app or dialog. If I tap the back button, I'm returned to the form's main page, there may be a handful of items that made it through, and there are still a number of unsent items in the outbox. Here's the kicker... when I open the survey that was stuck, and locate the questions with the image(s), there is no thumbnail, but there is a filename for the associated image. If I simply delete the image (tap the little x button) and resend, that form will upload, and maybe 50% of the time the very next record gets stuck just the same. What I've tried: Initially, I thought maybe the internet connection and subsequent bottleneck of 5 to 8 devices uploading might be the issues. I've instructed and maintained that crew should only upload one tablet at a time... no difference... I've even taken tablets to a known high-speed WiFi connection at home (75mbps down / 25mbps up) and tried one-by-one to no avail. Sometimes they stick, sometimes they go.... Then I caught wind that some of my crew believed they were able to take multiple photos per question (not the case, there are 2x separate questions for photos without any repeat group). They indicated they would take one photo, then click the camera button again and take another. I've tried to recreate this, but of course it works fine when I do it, I simply end up submitting the last photo I took successfully... I'm lost at this point... has anyone else experienced this? Am I missing something entirely? Thanks everyone for your help!

I cannot wrap my head around this one... I've a hosted feature layer (WGS_1984_Web_Mercator_Auxiliary_Sphere) added to a simple Web App (built via WAB). Using the select widget and the attribute table widget I can select points from my hosted feature layer, show these selected records in the attribute table, and export the selected records to a CSV. During the last step, both X and Y attributes are appended to the end of the CSV. Here's the glitch: at first (as in maybe the first 3-5 times I export something from the app) the x and y fields are calculated in decimal degrees. From there on out, they are calculated in meters. This makes sense, as the documentation describes the output being tied to the feature layer coordinate system's default units regardless of the map's units (Attribute Table widget—Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS | ArcGIS). All of this led me to the following feature request: https://community.esri.com/ideas/13738 Please up-vote so I we can all control the output units and coordinate system. Perhaps with functionality similar to the Coordinate Widget (with defined transformations, units, and so-forth).

I had similar frustrations, as I too am using a Comodo issued certificate... Both documentation and tech support seemed to lack clear details of the azure/web adapter arrangement. Ultimately I was unable to get a certificate issued for the azure dns name of my ArcGIS Enterprise azure vm ([your dns name].[location].cloudapp.azure.com) as you mentioned in roadblock 1, as we obviously don't have control over the DNS server for said domain... A definite bummer as it would be great if you could create standalone ArcGIS Enterprise sites on azure without the need for a registered name. In the case that you do have a domain of your own (or subdomain which is my case, I happen to also host my subdomain DNS with Azure DNS service, but most DNS providers have the same functionality) the instructions are still unclear. I pointed my (sub)domain to my [your subdomain].[location].cloudapp.azure.com address via a CNAME in my DNS record. A good article describing the process and more generally "DNS for noobs" (me) available here Install a CA-issued certificate—ArcGIS Enterprise | ArcGIS Enterprise . Though this article refers to Azure "Web Sites" think of them as synonomous with your Azure ArcGIS VM and replace their references to [your subdomain].azurewebsites.net with your [your subdomain].[location].cloudapp.azure.com Anywho, back to getting the certificate issued, the steps below obviously won't get you a cert for your azure name, but it may help someone who is trying to get their site on Azure to function using a cert for a domain/subdomain they own. These steps presume you are using some form of CNAME records on the DNS of your choice to point your chosen domain to your azure domain: login to your Azure VM via RDP, open IIS go to [your server, localhost] > Server Certificates > Create Certificate Request Fill in the details making sure to enter your intended domain (gis.contoso.com NOT the azure name [your subdomain].[location].cloudapp.azure.com) for "Common Name" and download your CSR Take your CSR to your chosen CA and get verified. Again, I couldn't figure out how to get my Azure VM IIS to supply the required HTTP response to verify, but I have access to the admin email and DNS records for my subdomain and verified using the other methods offered by Comodo In my case, I didn't get a .pfx back from Comodo, so I used what was given to me (.cer) to "Complete Certificate Request" in IIS on my Azure VM. This left me with my freshly issued certificate sitting on my VM in IIS, but not quite ready to return and install the cert via ArcGIS Cloud Builder for Azure To get the necessary pfx, I highlighted my newly signed certificate in IIS under "Server Certificates" and clicked "export", gave a path to output my pfx file and entered a strong password to keep it safe in transit with my pfx in hand, I hopped back over to ArcGIS Cloud Builder, logged in with my azure credentials, supplied my pfx file and the required site administrator account info. This is where I got thoroughly hung up... The "Domain Name (Alias)" I had to enter in ArcGIS Cloud Builder for Azure WAS the Azure DNS name ([your subdomain].[location].cloudapp.azure.com) of my VM NOT the CN of my recently requested and received certificate (gis.contoso.com). I suppose if I read the fine print at https://server.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/cloud/azure/install-ssl-certificate.htm I would have noted where step 9 says "Type the CNAME for your site in the Domain Name (Alias) field" but for some reason my feeble mind was hooked on the idea that I needed to enter the CN name of my issued certificate. After all, that's what I wanted my site to resolve as and use rather than the long, awkward azure domain name... Skip the headache I had, enter the azure domain name and install the cert (even though its for another domain name). When you now visit your site (either using your domain or azures domain, they'll both redirect and appear in the address bar as the azure domain) you'll still likely see a big-fat security warning in your browser, only this time it will be due to a name mismatch, not a self-signed-certificate. If you examine the certificate returned by your site, it will now read as the name of your domain. So the last step involves getting your site to think and know and actually function as your domain (gis.contoso.com) Simply following along with the documentation for installing via Cloud Builder didn't get me where I wanted, instead I found my answer under "Use a reverse proxy server with Portal for ArcGIS". Skipping the steps to register the portal with the reverse proxy (azures load balancer does this out-of-the-box) follow the instructions for updating the WebContextURL setting it to whatever your domain is (not azure, yours like gis.contoso.com/arcgis Voila! when I visit gis.contoso.com, my URL doesn't switch to the azure provided domain name, and my browser is happy with the name on my CA issued certificate. All is well in my world. This may not get at exactly what you are looking for, but I still hope it helps you or someone else who is struggling with getting things up and running on Azure. I'm new to Azure, and would have much preferred to deploy to AWS due to my experience with the platform, but this current project dictated I use Azure, and after the few initial glitches, I can say I'm actually very satisfied with how easy it's been to maintain. The ArcGIS Cloud Builder for Azure sure made things seeeeeeem simple, but in retrospect, I should have probably just grabbed an esri image from the marketplace and set things up myself... I would have likely figured out the glitches faster than staring at the pretty UI and expecting things to just happen Cheers and good luck
