Not sure why this is marked as "assumed answered". I don't see a solution anywhere in here.

I work for a government agency representing the Chicago metropolitan region. We have a network dataset for pedestrian infrastructure (sidewalks and other off-street pedestrian paths) that we use internally for pedestrian routing and walkshed (service area) analyses. We would like to be able to share this capability with our constituents who do not have access to or knowledge of GIS software.

Same issue here. I also have a 1GB graphics card (AMD Radeon HD 7450). Not only do the polygons flicker, but the awful flickering polygons take forever to render in the first place. Quite infuriating.

I'm very glad to hear that this functionality already exists in ArcGIS Pro, and I will make use of it. I would still strongly urge the dev team to implement a middle-click-to-rotate feature for 2D maps. It is very jarring going back and forth between 2D and 3D when both allow single-click-to-pan and double-click-to-zoom, but only 3D views allow middle-click-to-rotate. Currently middle-clicking a 2D map doesn't appear to do anything (although I'm not using the newest version of Pro yet), so I don't see any reason not to add this functionality.

In 3D scenes, one can rotate the map by middle-clicking and moving the mouse. It would be great to have this same functionality in 2D maps. Moving between 2D and 3D in a project -- particularly one with linked views -- this lack of functionality is a bit jarring. In 3D, I frequently rotate my view but then when I jump back to 2D I become extremely disoriented because north is no longer up and there is no easy way to spin the map back around. A button to set the current map's rotation to zero could also alleviate this.

Bump. You know what's frustrating? Googling a problem, and only being able to find the unanswered thread you yourself started a few months ago. 😞

Exactly, kingmi. I'm also seeing the -3.402823e+038 values returned as the maximum for target polygons with no join features when using a Double field, and I was also thinking that those values are what is causing the process to bomb out when trying to use a Short/Long instead.

I'm having trouble with this same error today. I need to obtain the maximum of a field which had been stored as a double, but actually only contained integer values (i.e. employment counts were stored in a double, but you can't actually employ fractional people). The spatial join worked when using the double values, but when I copied the values into a Long field and tried the spatial join using the new field, I got an Error 999999. Very frustrating!

I'm making a map and have to set the line leading for some 21pt text to 24pt, to follow our branding guidelines. Unfortunately, ArcMap represents their default leading as "0" (I'm assuming that's 0pt, but I suppose it could be some other unit) without ever actually mentioning what the default leading actually is, as a percentage of the text size. Does anyone happen to know?
