I agree, i have mosaic datasets with lots of rasters in them and it was so much easier when I could just click the MD in ArcCatalog and view what is in it. The explore raster tool isn't very helpful because I can only see one raster and a time as I click through

I agree... our problem is, we have a very large enterprise database, and any given connected user could have access to a LOT of data they should not be publishing, therefore we can't use the Bulk Publishing option at all since we have no control over which things are getting published.

If the service is published with the field in it, then it is technically being "used", because the service definition itself contains all layers that are turned on in the source document when it is published. So when the service is used, it is looking for all of the fields in its definition. So that is why it will throw an error if you remove that field in the underlying dataset.

Currently in a distributed collaboration, you can only schedule syncing your data once each hour.. For a lot of situational awareness scenarios, such as emergency management, we need to be able to see our data updates much more quickly than that. My idea is to decrease the minimum sync intervals as described on this page under scheduled sync to allow scheduled syncing more frequently than each hour: https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/configure-sync-settings.htm.

Currently in a distributed collaboration, only item detail updates prompt an Immediate Sync to the destination portal. We have more of a need to have our data itself be kept current between the two portals. My idea is to allow data edits to prompt an immediate sync. This would be helpful in scenarios where our internal or SDE data is edited and needs to be promptly available to external users via AGOL, etc., especially in cases such as emergency management, or other situational awareness scenarios.

Transfer content does work, but only if you want to transfer ALL of the user's content. Transfer content doesn't allow you to pick and choose what to transfer. Often we just want to transfer a certain project to someone else; not all of their content.

Darn, that sounded promising, but I tried it, and it didn't work for me...thanks for sharing though!

Thank you for that info, Richard... I did have a case on this (03080113) in which the conclusion was basically that this was by design and that the only fix was to recreate and register all of our spatial views that were previously registered using SDE command line, so unfortunately agency-wide, we have spent a lot of time doing that only to now find out that it was fixed a couple of patches later, with no bug logged. I am happy it is fixed, but pretty annoyed.

how are you retrieving the values. As labels? If it is as labels, you can use an Advanced expression and If/Then query to label the features with ID 1 as Canada, like this Function FindLabel ([region_ID]) if [region_ID] = 1 then FindLabel = "Canada" elseif [region_ID] = 2 then FindLabel = "Another region" if [region_ID] = 3 then FindLabel = "Yet another region " else FindLabel = "No region" end if End Function

This can also happen if you are adding data from a slow network, especially large datasets. A way you can test that is to only add data from your C: drive and see if you have the same experience.

When ArcCatalog sees a folder called info, it assumes there is a Grid or Coverage-type dataset in that folder (Grid rasters and Coverages use an info folder alongside them to store internal information about the dataset), and since the "info" should not be manipulated, and all datasets within a folder use the same info folder, Arc hides that folder from the user. I am attaching a screen shot of a Grid raster in ArcCatalog versus in File Explorer. I know there is a way to make files with certain extensions display, but I can't find a way to make it so the info folder is not seen as a an ArcInfo folder.

Just to confirm, we did verify that registering spatial views using ArcCatalog or ArcGIS Pro made them once again usable in ArcGIS Pro 2.9.1. We are in the process of updating all of our spatial views that had previously been registered using SDE Command Line tools. An additional benefit to this is that once they are registered using ArcCatalog or ArcPro, they can now support ArcGIS metadata, whereas the command line-created ones didn't.

Hi there, I have a map service that contains a point feature class and a DEM raster (from mosaic dataset). When I published from ArcMap, the map service would display the DEM's Pixel Value upon doing an Identify in ArcMap or ArcPro. Now I have rebuilt the source project in ArcGIS Pro and the popup works fine in the project, but when I republished the service, when I try to do an identify on the actual service in ArcMap I get No Identified Features found, and when I click on DEM in the map in Pro, no pop-up comes up at all. (the pop-up does come up for the point features) How can I get my pop-up to work again for my raster when publishing from ArcPro to display the pixel value? I tried to turn on all of the fields in the Configure pop-up dialog, but that didn't help.

I would probably try to export them into a new file geodatabase or export to a shapefil.... while you have the project open with the file geodatabase open in the catalog pane, under Databases, create a New File Geodatabase... Then, for each feature class in the geodatabase, right click on it, and choose Export/Feature Class to Feature Class, then export it to your new file geodatabase. If that doesn't work, maybe try Feature Class to Shapefile. If that doesn't work, try just copying and pasting the feature class from the old geodatabase to the new geodatabase. if that doesn't work, then the data is probably corrupted.

If you were in Editing mode, and actually editing features, if you just closed your project without saving your edits, the polygons should still be there when you reopen, but it is still unclear to me what you actually are missing since the red exclamation points are something you would see in your map's layer list if you are missing the actual data source (file geodatabase feature classes)... If so, try this: open your ArcGIS Pro project again, then under View, turn on your catalog pane, and expand Databases.. if you don't see your file geodatabase, right click on Database and choose Add Database, then try to browse to wherever you have your file geodatabase stored. click on your file geodatabase and add it to the project. Then double-click on it to open it, and see if there is anything in it. if not, try right clicking on the database and choosing refresh. If there is nothing in the database, then unfortunately you have somehow deleted all of your feature classes. Once you have done that, there is really no way to get them back unless you were working on a network share that is being backed up each night or something, in which case you could request the restore a backup from the previous night. If the feature classes are showing in your file geodatabase, if you are still seeing the red exclamation points by your layers, you can try resourcing them to the geodatabase layers by going into their properties, and in the source section, try browsing to the geodatabase feature classes to source them... or you could just drag your feature classes into the map fresh from the catalog pane. I hope this helps at all; it is kind of hard to help when I can't see the project, but let me know if you have any other questions!
