I just contacted ESRI about this because we manage a parcel fabric that nominally has 30,000 parcels in it. Well, almost 2 years of editing and running models to update attributes used in 3rd party integrations our fabric parcel table now has 7.9 million rows in it. Support has this logged as ENH-000137295, which just celebrated it's 3rd birthday last week 😐, to allow the Trim Archive History tool to be run on branch versioned data. Their recommendation to work around this limitation was to unregister as versioned then delete the records using the Trim Archive History tool, then re-register. Has anyone tried this workflow?

lol, that's unfortunate that it's still in v11, hopefully they figure it out before 12?

Add me to the list of people desiring annotation support in vector tiles. We're also wanting to publish parcel fabric dimensions and labeling is not good, and raster tile caches just take way too long to update.

I came across this while trying to tackle orphaned points in the fabric. There's two scenarios that made it appear as if both of these tools were not working at all. A densified curve made up of a bunch of short features A densified curve made up of a bunch of short segments (but a single feature) In situation #1 Merge Boundaries appeared to not work because the short features were already arcs themselves. In situation #2 SLACA appeared to not work because all or some of the segments were also already arcs. If just one of the many segments was an arc, SLACA would not work. The documentation for both Merge Boundaries and SLACA indicate that they do not modify existing arcs (or other curves) which explains why this was happening. I'm assuming the reason for these already being curves is either a legacy issue or something that happened during migration to the Fabric. To help fix these issues, I think there should be an option within both of these tools to process existing arcs and either include them in the algorithm or process them as if they were just two-point straight lines. Examples Scenario #1 - These are already individual arcs. Merge Boundaries will not do anything for these, so the tool appears to not work. The tool works properly after either running Densify on the features or manually changing them to 2-point straight lines. After running Densify, then Merge Boundaries, I get the expected single feature with densified vertices, and the orphaned parcel points are automatically removed. Scenario #2 - similar to #1 except we've already got a single feature, but each segment is an arc: Running SLACA on this results in no change. Workaround is the same, either densify the line or manually set segments to straight lines, then run SLACA. After which we get the expected result: Another issue with these workarounds is you have to do this for all lines and polygons affected (for polys it's probably easier to shrink/reconstruct)

Hi Amir, We have parcel points that are actual control marked as such, so those would already be filtered out. As for the Merge Collinear Parcel Boundaries, thank you for reminding me that works with curves. That forced me to read the documentation closer and I noticed the little tidbit "If parcel boundaries are true curves, the lines are ignored." This made me realize why the tool appeared to not be doing anything, the little segments were all arcs already. How do I handle that situation? I could use the Densify tool which "un-arcifies" lines then run SLACA, but is that the most efficient way? Thanks, Nick

As we work to clean up legacy issues in our Fabric, sometimes we're redrawing curves or using SLACA, but this leaves behind the old densified points. Back in the before times there was a tool to deal with orphaned points but currently that doesn't exist in Pro. So, I'm here for another sanity check. If I select all the points then use the Select By Location tool to remove from the selection points that intersect any of the <Fabric_Parcel_Type>_Lines (including historic) and the Connection Lines, at the end all I should be left with is orphaned points selected. So, I do that and I end up with about 2500 out of 150k points selected as orphaned. For now I'm just going to flag them so I can inspect them, but does this workflow seem correct?

I'm looking for some clarification with regards to spatial adjustments in the fabric. We model tax and lot parcels separately, but in most cases these are identical. We didn't have COGO on the data we migrated so are backfilling this as time permits and I want to optimize how we do this. My understanding is that the adjustment uses COGO to calculate adjustment vectors of the fabric points. In the case of a tax parcel and lot parcel being identical, the fabric points will be shared between the two sets of lines, correct? Are lines without COGO ignored in the adjustment calculations, but still affected by the adjustment when applied? If the answer to both of those is yes, then we should be able to only backfill COGO on the Lot lines correct? When an adjustment is run and points moved, since the points are shared all lines shared between points are adjusted, even the ones without COGO.

I guess I have a workaround. In Options -> Editing you can set "Uncommitted attribute edits" to Apply (defaults to Always prompt I think) then when you click off the features you're editing they apply automatically. Not optimal, but since I'm usually moving on to the next batch of features it works for that workflow.

Yeah I tried that, no dice. I didn't see anything in the shortcut documentation either, and I don't see how you can assign it as an accelerator as you can with other toolbar buttons. Bummer 😞

Sometimes, when I'm doing attribute edits I turn off Auto Apply so I don't get thwarted by the applying edits dialog. I know you can eventually tab down to the Apply button and tap spacebar, but is there a shortcut like F2 for drawing?

I just wanted to close the loop on this post. I opened a support case with ESRI after this post and believe it or not restarting the ArcGIS Monitor Server Service solved the issue. Even though I had shutdown the service prior to the upgrade as indicated in the docs. So, not sure what got hung up there, but if you're coming across this thread, that's what fixed it for me.

I upgraded my Monitor installation to 2023.1 earlier this week and now some components are always reporting Unknown despite alerting being set on certain metrics and them being within the normal levels. This is happening on my Portal, ArcGIS Server, and Service components. In 2023.0 these would always be reported as green, Nominal. Also services that no longer exist still show up in the components, this is logged as BUG-000157190 for a case I opened in March which I guess didn't make it into 2023.1

For example I have a service that will have a max response time of 11 seconds at what appears to be the first "hit" of the day, then all the subsequent max responses are below a second. I'm just curious how others handle this, or what best practice is? I deployed the new Monitor shortly after it was released. We have 220 services deployed and since I turned on Monitor it's generated 12,721 warnings and 10,804 criticals...98% of these are from the max response time when a pooled service is just waking up. Here's a graph: Spikes first thing in the morning, triggering the warning, then it's fine throughout the day.

How are you all handling the response time alerts with regards to the services that are on the shared pool? It seems that 98% of the alerts I get are from these when they're hit for the first time each day. Do you just shut the alerts off for them or are you using some other alert configuration than the out of the box one?
