Hi ESRI The recent AGOL update seems to have broken something in the ExB Views Navigation widget. Every existing ExB app I have that incorporates this widget, and a brand new test app created today, all display the text: Cannot read properties of null (reading 'appBuilderSync') instead of the Nav widget, but only in the published small-screen version when viewed on phone screen. The widescreen versions still work ok, and the edit version in small-screen mode preview looks ok - it's just the published app that shows the error. I'm reasonably sure that it's not an issue at my end, so hoping for a quick fix for this as it's broken a lot of my live apps (at least for mobile screen users). My organisation has raised a support ticket but I thought it useful to post here as well to see if others are experiencing the same issue (just in case it is our problem and not ESRI). Thanks

Thanks Richard This option remains to add and remove favourites, but it doesn't result in the gold star marker appearing in the list view as per image 1 above. This whole marker column (and method of adding a favourite by clicking on the empty star) seems to have been removed from the content page. I made a lot of use of this as a visual cue in complex folders, so the change is frustrating for me, but I recognise that it might only be me that finds it so.

Hi Am I missing something or has the latest AGOL update removed the little gold star that appears in the Content list view against favourited items? This was a really simple way of marking and easily seeing items that were in use in a particular app folder (i.e. the 'live' versions of maps/data/media etc). This wouldn't be so annoying if the 'My Favourites' view of content allowed you to filter by folder but it doesn't as far as I can tell. The only similar option now seems to be to mark items as 'Authoritative' so that the green tick icon appears in the content list, but this can only be done item by item rather than being able to tick off 25 favourite items in one go as used to be the case. Hoping someone will tell me I can turn them back on! Neil Useful stars (Enterprise and how AGOL used to be) No useful stars (latest AGOL)

Hi I have a map widget in an experience. The source map contains 4 hosted feature layers of increasing-resolution generalisations of the same data. All 4 are ticked on, but the visibility ranges are set so that only one layer is visible at any one time as the map zooms in or out. If I click on the map, the pop-up returns info for the relevant features in the currently visible layer as expected (say 8 features). However, If I use the select tool in the map at the same location, the 'Selected features' counter returns a count of 32 i.e. the selection is done on all 'ticked on' layers in the map, not just the currently visible one. This seems counter-intuitive to me, and when that selection could result in 100s of features being selected, it comes at a performance cost (selecting 4x as many features as is really necessary in my case). I guess my question is, why do pop-ups return data only on layers in their visible range (correctly in my view), whilst the select tool selects on all layers regardless of that range (incorrectly I think)? Is it by design? Is it a flaw? Is there any way to remedy the issue? thanks, Neil

Similar to the idea here (now in Storymaps production plan) I would like to be able to set the label that appears in the browser tab independently. In Content manager I like to give Apps/Experiences/Maps etc codified names that allow me to organise things properly, but that look downright odd as browser tab labels - how things work currently it appears. Each App/Experience/Map etc should have an 'Alias' setting that, if set, determines what is displayed in the browser tab, allowing the tab to be set independently of the item name in content manager. (If I've missed something obvious and this can already be done, please let me know how!) Neil

Thanks Owen, that sounds positive. On reading the linked page, the 'Share Card' solution seems to be restricted to Storymaps? If so, can I ask if a similar capability will be introduced to e.g. Dashboards or Experiences? thanks, Neil

Definitely support this idea, and should be implemented on all products that have a browser tab title/label. In Content manager I like to give Apps/Experiences/Maps etc codified names that allow me to organise things properly, but that look downright odd as browser tab labels - how things work currently. Each App/Experience/Map etc should have an 'Alias' setting that, if set, determines what is displayed in the browser tab, allowing the tab to be set independently of the item name in content manager. I've fiddled around in AGO-Assistant but can't see an obvious way to do it there.

@AMoyers, @DavidNyenhuis1 Hi both, there seems to be some in-house discrepancy at ESRI on whether this issue is a feature or a bug. My organisation raised this same issue as a ticket last year and the final conclusion (4 Nov 21) was as follows: "...I have received word back from Esri Inc in relation to this matter. They have logged this as a new defect on our system known as BUG-000144262 - Downloaded CSV from spatial filter in ArcGIS Online Dashboard shows wrong output records. As this BUG is new, I'm afraid there is no information available at the moment regarding a date/version a fix will be released, however, I would like to reassure you that the Operation team and the developers are trying their best to fix this bug. I have attached the BUG to this case so the customer can keep a track of its status via My ESRI. Please allow some time for the ESRI Inc Development team to review the BUG and provide an update. The severity of the BUG is listed as "Medium" so it is likely to be reviewed sooner rather than later..." This response seems clear that the export of data contained within an envelope rather than the feature itself is not by design; and why would it be? - there's no reason I can think of to build it like that - it's counter-intuitive to me, and feels like a quick route to unexpectedly erroneous data. You actually have to work quite hard to get a spatial selection on an envelope rather than a feature in ArcMap/Pro for instance. The fact that various dashboard metric elements (lists, indicators, gauges) correctly recognise the spatial filter, but the output csv doesn't, is an indication in itself that something is not right. The 'envelope' behaviour is not documented in the support guide, which still maintains that "...downloaded data respects all filters applied to both the data source and the element, including layer filters, web map filters, and filters from actions and selectors..." At the very least, while the bug exists, it would be helpful to amend this to draw attention to what will, for most users, be unexpected behaviour - it took me some while to figure out what was happening to give me what I considered to be an incorrect output. I've abandoned this particular tool for now, which is a shame because it could be spectacularly useful, but I really can't think of any realistic use-case for it in its current state. Dave - could we get an update on where BUG-000144262 is at the moment? regards, Neil

Hi Rachel, no I never figured it out and I haven't seen anything more from anyone at ESRI on whether it's an issue they're looking at. I just ended up not using the HTML and not having the coloured labels, which is a shame as I think it works well. I'm sure the writing of the HTML to the table isn't a designed feature so I'm still hopeful it might get sorted one day. @IsmaelChivite - any further thoughts you can offer?

Thanks Jansen. The source data is a hosted feature layer, and as far as I can tell I'm meeting all the pre-requisites noted in the ESRI guidance. The 'download data' capability is available in my List element, it just doesn't seem to work correctly. Neil

Hi I've just picked up on the new(ish) data download option in Dashboards. It's a great addition but it doesn't seem to work correctly for me when using a spatial filter. I have a set of point features ('Units') in a map and I have a List element that has the 'Units' layer as its data source. Each unit can be one of 5 types. I have a Category Selector that filters the list based on attribute 'Type' When this attribute filter is applied to the list, the list displays the correct number of records and the download csv contains the correct number of records. So this works fine. I also have a polygon layer in the map ('Centres'). Some 'Units' are in 'Centres' and some are not. I have another Category Selector with 'Centres' as its source and it filters 'Units' using a spatial filter. When a Centre (spatial) filter is applied, the List element displays the correct number of records (i.e. the Units within the chosen Centre). However, the downloaded List data contains extra 'Unit' records. These extra Units appear to be ones that are within the envelope of the filtering polygon, but not actually within its true extent. I can't see any note in the guidance to suggest that download from a spatially filtered element is not supported. Am I missing something or is this expected behaviour? thanks, Neil

Hi Ismael Is the same still true of the Likert appearance? I have a list as per below that I use to present a Likert scale choice on a form. list_quality 1 <font color="#C70039"><b>1</b></font> list_quality 2 <font color="#F07339"><b>2</b></font> list_quality 3 <font color="#FFC300"><b>3</b></font> list_quality 4 <font color="#15C14E"><b>4</b></font> list_quality 5 <font color="#04782B"><b>5</b></font> The form appears as below: The underlying table captures the choices as below: I can't use the 'minimal' appearance to get round the issue as suggested because I need the Likert scale format. Any further ideas on how to get round this html issue and collect only the number (1,2,3,4,5) that represents the choice made? thanks, Neil
