Thanks Dominik, That helps to clarify some of the differences. What I'm most interested at the moment is creating a tool to do Ecosystem Services Assessments of project sites. We have a list of Landscape metrics that we track such as vegetation cover, tree canopy, farmland, wetlands etc (these are in GIS layers). As we develop land we want project teams to: 1.Delineate a site boundary and get a report of what natural assets are on that site (clip and extract from our GIS layers) 2. Draw in the planned development (building/parking lot/whatever) and see how much impact they have on those numbers (not sure if they could upload a CAD or shapefile). 3. Adjust the planned development scope to see changes to the landscape metrics with the goal of lessening the impact and pushing for new design efforts to increase ecosystem services at sites (green roofs, taking up less area of a site with maybe a higher building, using other green infrastructure tactics). It sounds like this may be better suited for GeoPlanner or a stand alone web application. Do you have any thoughts? Thanks again and happy to chat privately if necessary, Andrew

Can someone explain the main differences between GeoPlanner and Urban? Thanks, Andrew The Ohio State University

Hey John, I never got any responses to this. I am still interested in this as a model to strategically plan greenspaces for ecosystem services but I have not had the time to invest in this effort. I know there are some numbers out there in the literature for things like Carbon sequestration and stormwater runoff for different land uses (i.e. meadows vs. parking lots, etc.). I think it would be a matter of combing through some literature, then creating the layers/scenarios in GeoPlanner, and assigning numbers to them. I honestly haven't had the time to dive into this or even use GeoPlanner to its potential but I would be happy to chat with you about this. I'm not sure if you have seen but ESRI is also releasing ArcGIS Urban in the near future - I'm not sure if this may be more suited for this type of approach. Thanks, Andrew The Ohio State University

Hi Craig, I have just come across a similar problem. When I open my Workforce Project the map loads but my I my assignment tab does not. I also cannot access my Configure menu for my project from the Projects Page. As the previous message alluded to I recently added a couple new users the group as workers and dispatchers. Could that have caused the problem? We have an Enterprise setup - but my workers, dispatchers, locations, and assignments are Hosted feature layers. Thanks, Andrew

We are trying to integrate new drone images into an existing imagery layer. Our drone software provides us with a mosaic of our flight. Our flight areas are small sections of our entire work area. We would love to be able to integrate these new image mosaics into an already existing imagery layer. Does anyone know if this is possible?
Our workaround will be to publish the new image mosaics as stand alone layers that would overlay the existing imagery layer.
I recall there was a similar tool for Terrains - where you could input new elevations into the terrain and it would update the entire model.
Happy to provide more info.
Thanks,
Andrew

Thanks Aaron, I'll check this out. It would be great to get this functionality built into the workforce project. I would like to have my "Dispatchers" who are not skilled in python (or in GIS for that matter) be able to create these types of assignments on their own.

Is there an easy workflow for creating multiple assignments based on an attribute of a feature? I have a large tree database with species information. Let's say I want to create an assignment at every Ash tree for pesticide application. Seems like this should be a basic function - but I only have the ability to select features on the map with the select tool or by address. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance, Andrew

I am interested in using GeoPlanner to assess and plan for ecosystem services at a local scale (a very large urban university). When I say ecosystem services I am most interested in things such as Carbon Sequestration (or production), Amount of Tree Canopy/vegetation, Storm Water attenuation (runoff curve #), and Amount of Greenspace for recreation/cultural use. As we plan at our university we have somewhat "competing" interests. We have sustainability goals which call for us to be carbon neutral (in the future) and for us to increase the ecosystem services our campus provides (among other goals). But we also have plans to grow, develop, and build (a lot of times on existing greenspace). I am really interested in providing our staff with a tool that would allow them to create scenarios for development and see the impacts on things like carbon, trees, and stormwater. I'm sure I can slowly develop all of this over time, but I was curious if anyone has already dabbled in this or if the GeoPlanner team has any plans for templates in this area of interest. Thoughts? Thanks for any help you can provide, Andrew Neil The OSU

Hi James, I just came across this post. Is this still not possible? For my purposes I would like 1 survey where two Feature Services are updated from its submissions. A "Size" and "Condition" would be updated in my "Tree" feature service and also an "Assignment" feature service is updated for Workforce based on a "Needs Action" field. Thanks, Andrew

Similar issue here. Subtypes with domains set up. Choose a tree "Genus" and should only have certain "Species" to select, but in Collector the domains for Species do not populate. My workaround will be to remove the Subtype and just have a massive domain of all Species. Commented on your post to show interest that this be resolved in Collector. Thanks all for the information.
