The error message threw me off. Apparently, the user did not have access to the data. Upon giving access to the user, the problem was fixed!

I have a mapping application that utilizes different versions. I have one instance where I get an empty map without errors on the client side. I am seeing this error in the ArcGIS Server Manager Logs: Invalid version name 'holdenvilleEditor' specified for data source 'owrb.owrb.Water_Treatment'. I checked the data source (Postgres SDE DB connection), and I confirm that the data and the specific version exists. Did anyone else have this problem and resolve it? I have similar versions and they work without a problem. Thanks

I have a script that processes ~50,000 records, taking about 30 seconds to process each record. My problem is that my script crashes at a random point, sometimes at the 10th record, 200th record or 1254th record, etc. I wrote this code in 2017, and it never crashed then. I also see that multiple people had this issue. For example here the op explains that "I converted tables into dictionaries or lists and carried out the InsertCursor and UpdateCursor functions with pure Python" Another user reports that applying a patch [ArcGIS (Desktop, Engine) Background Geoprocessing 64-bit Arcpy Exit and Shutdown Patch] fixed the issue. That patch didn't work for me. I have been trying the same script on multiple machines with ArcMap 10.3.1 and ArcMap 10.5.1. Same random crash at some point in the run. The quoted op reported this issue on Jun 11, 2015, and after four years it is still going on. Will ArcGIS support actually fix this problem, or should I circumvent this problem by using less of Arcpy like the quoted op, or by starting to use Python for QGIS? In my opinion, It is a great disservice to the ArcGIS users to give them an unreliable library that would fail them after writing lengthy amounts of code that used to work a couple of years ago that became unfunctional after some updates or some other technical problem.

Figured it out by some wild guess. Passed the following JSON object (not just the string) and voila. {'gdbVersion': 'sde.' + sysName + 'Editor'} Hey ESRI support, someone should fix the JS documentation.

This is exactly what I am passing. And I checked the string against the list of versions in the database. identifyTask = new IdentifyTask(baseSystemMapServerURL, 'sde.' + sysName + 'Editor');

I have a project that makes use of multiple GDB versions that I use for editing. My mapper also has an identify tool, and as expected it returns the identify results of the default version (default SDE). I saw in the docs that one could use the options property to specify the gdbVersion. So I wrote the following line: identifyTask = new IdentifyTask(systemURL, versionName); But the identify is still returning the results from the default SDE version. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks, Naci

Robert, Well, I was trying to use the ImageServiceIdentityTask, too. identifyDemTask = new ImageServiceIdentifyTask(demImageURL);
...
var deferred2 = identifyDemTask
.execute(imageParams)
.addCallback(function (response) {
// I see nothing here
console.log(response);
}); That didn't execute either. The difference I see is the use of the addCallback method.

Thanks Robert! I am curious though as I followed this example: Display identify results in popup | ArcGIS API for JavaScript 3.25 How come that didn't work?

I would like to calculate the elevation of each point during an edit session. I am capturing the location of the edited point using the before-apply-edits event. However, I could not get the ImageServiceIdentifyTask to execute (Also tried IdentifyTask in case I was missing something). I can manually query my imageservice at demImageURL successfully from the ArcGIS REST Services Directory on my server. I am adding the code. What am I missing? Thanks. systemEditor.startup();
identifyDemTask = new ImageServiceIdentifyTask(demImageURL);
identifyTask = new IdentifyTask(demImageURL);
identifyParams = new IdentifyParameters();
identifyParams.tolerance = 3;
identifyParams.width = map.width;
identifyParams.height = map.height;
systemEditor.templatePicker.on("selection-change", lang.hitch(this, function () {
var selected = systemEditor.templatePicker.getSelected();
if (selected) {
var featureLayer = selected.featureLayer;
On.once(featureLayer, "before-apply-edits", lang.hitch(this, function (evt) {
if (evt.adds && evt.adds.length > 0) {
var imageParams = new ImageServiceIdentifyParameters();
var point = new Point(evt.adds[0].geometry.x, evt.adds[0].geometry.y, evt.adds[0].geometry.spatialReference);
imageParams.geometry = point;
imageParams.mapExtent = map.extent;
identifyParams.geometry = point;
identifyParams.mapExtent = map.extent;
var deferred = identifyTask
.execute(identifyParams)
.addCallback(function (response) {
// I see nothing here
console.log(response);
});
var deferred2 = identifyDemTask
.execute(imageParams)
.addCallback(function (response) {
// I see nothing here
console.log(response);
});
if (evt.adds[0].attributes.hasOwnProperty('elevation')) {
// to go inside the deferred execution
}
systemEditor.attributeInspector.refresh();
}
}));
}
}));

I am trying to add the undo/redo functionality to my Editor Widget. I have found this example, which doesn't use the Editor Widget and was written in the legacy style. I would think this (undo/redo) must have been implemented for the new editor widget. Are there any samples of it? Thanks, Naci

Thanks for the response! I found the problem. It is local colinearity as I suspected. I increased the kernel size and the error went away. I am looking more into this.
