I have a web map that is used for offline data collection in Field Maps by multiple staff. It has 3 editable layers (all hosted feature layers) and a bunch of other non-editable feature layers for reference. In Fields Maps Designer I can control whether the mobile device is downloading and updating only the features, or features + attachments when users download offline areas and sync. Is there any way to control this at the individual feature layer level? For those 3 editable layers we collect data in, I would like mobile devices to download/update features and attachments for only one of those layers, and download features only for the other two. I don't see any option to control this in the item settings for the individual hosted feature layers themselves, so assuming at this time it can only be set at the map level and has to be the same for all editable services in the map?

Hi. Designing a Survey123 front end for a repeated, cyclic sampling that has been previously done w/ paper datasheets and entered manually into Access front-end with an Access back-end. New data collected in Survey123 moving forward will be appended/added to existing Access database after the field season. Looking to replicate a calculated value from Access in the Survey123 form. In Access it's generated with the following formula: =Format(Now(),"yyyymmddhhnnss") & '-' & 1000000000*Rnd(Now()) This produces a combination of long strings with a dash and decimal based on the current date/time (first part) and a random number for the second part. An desired value would look something like this: 20240327063400-415188215.987833 Any help, thoughts, or advice on how to design this in my Survey123 form using xls connect? Ideally this would be a data field that is generated once per other set of repeating records (it'll be the same for all data values associated with an individual transect), would be done automatically in the background, and the front-end Survey user does not need to see it. Thanks in advance for any input.

Yes, agreed. I can get it there with idents but in this case I was hoping for a non-manual solution as I need to repeat this for 20 different species with 20 different legends (all from a single legend template, they just get turned on one at a time for map export for the different species). I wonder if a different fitting strategy would work better...right now I have 'Adjust columns and font size' selected, and the legend's horizontal width is dictated by my widest text element, which is usually the layer name. As I cycle different layers on and off and the overall width of the legend changes, the indent then has to be readjusted each time. But I digress.....thanks for the assistance.

Hi @Robert_LeClair - sorry but this doesn't really help (see below for what it looks like)....I would like it centered on the width of the entire legend patch, which is being dictated by my layer name which is the widest element. It would be very helpful if there was an option for horizontal alignment for patches the same way there is for text elements in a legend. I have resigned myself to converting to graphics and doing it manually for all 20 legends I have to make...

I have a legend in an ArcGIS Pro (3.1.2) layout with a single layer where the Layer Name, Heading, and Labels are all shown. I would like to center align everything. Itʻs easy enough to change the alignment of the text items, but how do I change the patch alignment as well?! I need to do about 20-30 times for all the different species I am making occurrence maps for, so converting to graphics and manually adjusting is not really feasible. Screenshot examples below. First is default / left aligned. Second is with all text change to center aligned, but I need the patches to be center aligned as well and I cannot figure out how to change.

I have a Layout in Pro (2.5.1) that includes some text elements on a title bar. The text element in the middle I want centered on the header bar, layout is a letter size landscape, so I set X position at 5.5" with midpoint of bottom edge as anchor. In this case, I use this layout for a series of birds occurrence maps, each with a different title for the different species. As I make the different maps for different species, I change the text of that element to reflect the new species (also change active occurrence layer in the map but use same layout). Each time I change the text of that layout element to reflect the new species name, it moves the X positioning of the text! Shouldn't an anchor with a horizontal center justification keep that X position the same (aka 'anchored'), and my text just grows/contracts equally on either side as the text string grows/contracts? With current behavior I have to go back and reset X position to 5.5" each time I change the text string. I don't think this should behave this way if I have it anchored on center [horizontally]. Am I missing something here? Two screen shots below showing behavior. First is set as desired, then second shows X position change when I change text of element. Thanks in advance for any help.

I need to calculate the distance of a set of stream sampling locations from the stream mouth. After prepping all the data, I was attempting to do this using the Locate Features Along Routes tool in Pro (v2.3). No matter what I try, I get an "ERROR 999999: Something unexpected caused the tool to fail. Contact Esri Technical Support......". After many fails, I closed Pro, opened my data in ArcMap (10.6.1), and ran the tool with no problems. Any ideas on the potential source of this error/fail. I'm using a single polyline (all sections merged), which I've created a route from using the Create Routes tool. The input features are a point feature class with all points previously snapped to the polyline. All these data are in the same projected coordinate system. Screen shots from both Pro and Desktop are below. Example of failed attempt in Pro (2.3) Success in ArcMap (10.6.1) with Tool reopened and the parameters I used inputted for reference Output table from successful generation in ArcMap

Nevermind, problem solved. I'm a dummy....Pro had created a duplicate gdb with the same name in a subfolder and I was looking at different ones in Catalog. This thread can be deleted. Sorry.

I recently created a new Pro project in a directory where I had been already working with some data in ArcMap. The directory was previously populated with a geodatabase before I created the Pro project. When I try to add data (either from the catalog pane or the add data button on the ribbon) from that existing gdb through the Project -> Folders or Projects -> Databases path, Pro does not recognize any content from the gdb. If I add the parent folder and then navigate to the gdb that way it recognizes all the contents of the gdb (screen grab below). I realize that's a pretty easy workaround, but it's annoying and I'd like to figure out why. Probably something simple I don't understand about the way 'Projects' work in Pro?....
