By the way the query expressions for each feature layer is complex and not base on one column of a Feature Class but several columns and parameters. Class Breaks works on one column with different range of values. This is another difference,

The Feature Layers with the same service URL are not as a result of class breaks on the layer. I don't intend to use class break render. What i am trying to do is to simply change the symbology for all the layers with the same service url so that they can be differentiated but not as with class break renderer. Basically the featurelayers are created using setDefinitionExpression so we could end up with featurelayers with the same URL but different query expression. Theses feature layers with the same URL end up having the same symbologies both on the legend and on the map.

I know that. The above suggeson will change the feature layer symbology when provided a renderder. I intend to change the legend symbology. I know ultimately that the legend symbologies must match the feature layers symbologies on the map.

I am able to get the legend symbol using ajax call to the legend on the REST endpoint (.../MapServer/legend?f=pjson) to obtain the necessary info including the symbol img src and content in base 64 encrypted data. Inside of the Ajax success function i assign the legend data with the symbol (which is an img src and content in base 64 encrypted data) retrieved from the sever legend REST end point. This works find and i can see the symbology represented on the legend and on the feature layers on the map. However, for some feature layers i will like to use a custom simple marker symbol instead of the symbol from the server legend REST end point. The reason i am doing this is because i have some feature layers that share the SAME service URL and therefore all have the same symbol coming from the server legend endpoint so my legend have feature layers with the same symbologies. For this layers with same service URL or FeatureClass table I will like to defined simplemarker symbols with different styles to replace the server legend symbology so as to differentiate the layers. No. I cannot change the symbol in ArcMap for the different layers with the same service URL because these layers all have the same FeatureClass (one symbol) in ArcMap. The layers with same service URL are results of queries on same column of the feature class but different parameters. I hope i have not confused you... Please if you have any suggestion that will be great. Thanks in advance.

The original definition had an outline specified. I took out the outline. i have also taken out the preceding comma. Do you have any idea how to resolve this issue and if it's even possible to replace the legend symbol with a custom simple marker symbol? Thanks for the noticing the preceding comma.

Hello, I want to replace the symbol of some feature layer legend symbology that comes from the ArcGIS server legend url with simplemarker symbol defined in json in my app.config in javascript code. I am able to get the legend symbol using ajax call to the legend on the REST endpoint EST endpoint (.../MapServer/legend?f=pjson) to obtain the necessary info including the symbol img src and content in base 64 encrypted data. However, i want to replace the symbol with a custom simplemarker symbol that i have defined in my appconfig for some specific feature layers. However when i assign the simplemarker symbol to the legend.legenddata the symbol does not show on the legend table of content as expected. I am not sure what is missing. { "type": "esriSMS", "style": "esriSMSSquare", "color": [76,115,0,255], "size": 8, "angle": 0, "xoffset": 0, "yoffset": 0 } Any useful advice will be greatly appreciate. Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone, I'm having a problem with IFeature.Store(). It stores the feature attributes correctly but it does not excute the codes after the call to IFeature.Store(). It does this in onCreateFeature() but works fine in onModifyFeature(). In order words, if the Feature already exist in the FeatureClass the codes directly following a call to IFeature.Store() in OnModifyFeature() are executed but not so in onCreateFeature() even though the new feature is added to the database when IFeature.Store() is called It fails to excute the code directly following the call. I can't see what is happening in the IFeature.Store() source code because it's just an interface method. Why wouldn't the code directly following a call to IFeature.Store() be executed? Oh, another thing i realized is that once execution reachs the the line where IFeature.Store() is called the order of execution suddenly changes to the beginning of onCreateFeature starting execution over again like in a loop. It will not execute the codes after IFeature.Store() but will change the order of execution to onCreateFeature which is extremely disturbing. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in Advance. This problem has been solved. thanks

I have a pdf printing project that is not built for silverlight assemblies. I decided to wrap the project functionality in a WCF service so that i can use is in my silverlight application. The only thing is that i need the map instance to be sent through WCF to the backend project so that i can print the map to PDF. Is there is a way i can send the MapApplication.Current.Map instance through WCF to the backend service. I have tried and i get serialization errors. I know the map instance will be different from normal serialization some how but i don't know how to go about serializing it for the WCF service. Hi, I have a usercontrol class that displays matchcandidates of a locatorTask in treeview after an address search has been performed by the user. The matchcandidates are displayed in the treeview but the treeview events are not firing or calling up the MVVM methods that are assigned to the event. Hey Dude, I was wondering how did you solve the issue. Please let me know, i need the solution. Thanks -AS Sorry i just got your message. The error message that I encountered occurs when the coordinate system of the source feature class and destination feature class are different. I basically re-created the destination feature class (using the same coordinate system at the source feature class) and try to update the SHAPE column again and it worked with no errors. I hope this helps. Moses

Hi all, I am inserting a new feature into a point feature class and i need to copy it's location (a geometry field) from another point feature class. I am doing the insertion using SQL INSERT statement and a SELECT statement that retrieves the geometry in question from the other feature class. This is all in a back-end WCF service running on the server side. When testing the WCF service using WCFTestClient the example SQL statement generated looks like this: INSERT ALL INTO MSD.CD_SSO VALUES ('2' , to_date('4/17/2013', 'MM/DD/YYYY') , '4' , '2901 SPRUCEWOOD DR, 63043' , 'GIS-2345454' , 'SSMANHOLE' , '656565' , 'THANKS' , '3:23' , '3:23' , (SELECT SHAPE FROM MSD.PLUSSERVICEADDRESS WHERE FULLADDRESS = '2901 SPRUCEWOOD DR' AND ZIP = '63043')) SELECT * FROM dual I get this error: ORA-29875: failed in the execution of the ODCIINDEXINSERT routine ORA-20085: Insert Spatial Reference SRID 1 does not match MSD.CD_SSO.SHAPE registered Spatial Reference SRID 2254 What do i do to get around this error. I sounds like a mismatched SRID which maybe unique across feature classes. Is this something i can change before the insert operation is called? Is there a better way i can do this in SQL? Please any useful suggestion will be much appreciated. Thanks, Moses.
