Part of my workflow is to create feature templates, which can be a tedious process. Is it possible to create/edit templates via arcpy? Having a hard time finding any resources on how to do this.

It's actually a known bug, I forgot to update this post. See this thread: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-api-for-python-questions/tile-layer-loads-in-map-viewer-classic-but-not-new/m-p/1287754#M8678

@Wei-HsinFu , thanks very much for that info! Good to confirm that it is a bug. That workaround doesn't help me either.

@fuxx0010 did you hear back from tech support? I am experiencing the same issue: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-api-for-python-questions/vector-tile-layers-not-loading-in-new-map-viewer/td-p/1287530

I wrote a script that adds several vector tile layers to a web map via ArcGIS API. However, these layers aren't displaying in the new map viewer, and just say "An error occurred loading this layer". They display just fine in Map Viewer Classic though. They are all published in Web Mercator Aux Sphere projection. Any ideas? Using ArcGIS Pro v3.1.1.

Is there a quick and easy way to reshape a map frame to follow the clip feature(s)? I guess I figured this would be easy like it was in ArcMap, where the data frame would clip itself to the layer you specify, thus also clipping any extent indicator referencing that clipped data frame.

I have a map that is being clipped to an outline of one of its layers. However, the extent indicator for the map frame still shows the full extent of the layer, not the clipped feature outline. Is there a way to make the extent indicator match the clipped feature outline? Using ArcGIS Pro v2.9.2.

I discovered that if you embed the script AND put a password on it, sys.argv[0] will include the toolbox in the path of the script tool. A bit of a clunky workaround, but may work in a pinch.

Hmm, but wouldn't importing the toolbox require the user to specifically define its location first? I'm trying to avoid that. The end goal here is to determine the path to the toolbox on the user's machine, without them having to define its location. This was easy with sys.argv[0], since I could just grab the parent directory of the script tool, but this method doesn't seem to be working for me when the script tool is inside of a toolset. I'd be willing to convert the toolbox to the new format (.atbx), if that made this possible.

But what if you don't know the path to the toolbox? Say if the toolbox is being used by another user on a different machine.

I've used sys.argv[0] before to get the path to the current script tool being ran. However, I'm finding that if the script tool is inside of a toolset within the toolbox, sys.argv[0] doesn't return anything. Is there a way to get the script tool path when it is inside of a toolset?

I maybe should have mentioned in my initial post, but this error only happens during the multiprocessing portion of the script. I didn't think that was an important distinction, but clearly seems to be. With that, I think I may have stumbled upon something. Looking at the What's new in ArcGIS Pro 2.9 list, it seems this type of error is a new implementation: So, I tested this out by printing a arcpy.ListEnvironments() during the multiprocessor portion for both the v2.7.3 and v2.9.0 machines, and got the same result, shown here: It seems that most of the environment settings are missing from the multiprocessing environment. Why might that be? This suggests that they were never being set at all on the v2.7.3 machine, as that version wasn't capable of throwing errors for invalid environment names.
