did you check your local ArcGIS Deskto logs for more information ? also, are you sure "sde" account has the right permissions ? take the "Sql definition" of the GDB_Items table from a different geodatabase and try to create the table manually using sde account, what error are you going to receive ?

you can perform compression while there services connecting to your geodatabase, however it won't be the "optimal compression". in any IT environments, you need to have a "block time" period where you can perform your upgrades,maintenance,...etc activities and this will require shutdown of your services. Also, it depends how frequently you need to perform the compression operation, depending if you have heavy editing on your data (weekly,monthly,...etc). what jack is proposing is a good option, also you can do replication between 2 enterprise geodatabase if you have the resources, and have active/active map services architecture for the continuation of your services.

Hi, if i understand you correctly.....you mean "map services" & "desktop connections" . you can't do changes without removing locks applied on your layers. Regards,

Hi, i had the same problem with Oracle 11gR2 (11.2.0.3) on AIX environment. my environment has strict security database implimentation. you need first to grant the permission to the oracle account having these domain index problems, you may refer to: Underlying DBMS error[ORA-29902: error in executing ODCIIndexStart() routine ORA-01031: insufficient privileges ORA-065… Underlying DBMS error[ORA-29902: error in executing ODCIIndexStart() routine ORA-01031: insufficient privileges ORA-065… Then try to rebuild the domain indexes (it will work): select 'alter index ' || OWNER || '.'||INDEX_NAME|| ' rebuild ;' from all_indexes where owner='ORACLE_USER' and INDEX_TYPE='DOMAIN';

Hi, you can use Oracle (export datapump "expdp/impdp") by moving (sde schema + all other related geodatabase sachemas) to the other instance. to help you more, what is the current permissions granted to the user you are using for import .....? by the way you can use the traditional copy/paste to move a set of features from one instance to another through ArcCatalog but you will need to define a DBTUNE parameter with specific information about the geometry storage type, tablespace,....etc hope this helps. Hi, it seems you are missing flag parameters such as '-D' '-U' '-t'....etc in your python code. why not use the geo-processing tool in ArcCatalog: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.2/index.html#//003n000000r7000000 Regards,

First, make sure that your geodatabase is tuned (perform reconcile/post/compress operations) then try again. and check if there is performance enhancement. Regards,

Thanks for ESRI Tech Support, after extensive troubleshooting.....we found out that there are permissions required to be granted to "PUBLIC". in our environment for "security" reason we refrain from granting permissions to "PUBLIC". now the non-data owner (application user) can view the layers stored in st_geomertry successfully. Hi Jeff, you should not create data under "sde" user, you should create (feature classes, datasets,other geodatabase objects,...etc) under a new schema. in your case you can use "qh" user. the schema account will by default see its own data only. Regards
