I've tried that, it is null every time. Or am I looking at it at the wrong time?

How do you get the renderer from a feature layer? I want to get the current rendered from a feature layer, and then set the RotationInfo on it so I can rotate my graphics that are in that feature service.

That works, but I would like to grab the features from a layer, and use the graphics they have configured already and just rotate the graphic based upon a field. I have a layer of points with a custom graphic on it, and based upon a heading field I want to render the graphic to point different ways. Do I have to get the collection of features from the layer, and add them to the map in javascript, or can set something on the layer in javascript and then just add that layer to the map.

Is it possible to get a feature and rotate the graphic based upon a field of data in that feature? This was a good tutorial, Renderer with proportional symbols and rotation | ArcGIS API for JavaScript And, I was able to see how to rotate and scale simple markers, how would I grab the current graphic for a feature and then rotate it? Thanks, Morgan

You won't be able to see the tiles, but if you add additional lods to the map when you create it you'll be able to zoom in past the basemap tiles. I was able to do it with this, by adding a few other additional levels of detail, you can add whatever scale and resolution you would like. var customLods = []; /* Custom LODs */ var mylods = [{ "level": 0, "resolution": 156543.03392800014, "scale": 5.91657527591555E8 }, { "level": 1, "resolution": 78271.51696399994, "scale": 2.95828763795777E8 }, { "level": 2, "resolution": 39135.75848200009, "scale": 1.47914381897889E8 }, { "level": 3, "resolution": 19567.87924099992, "scale": 7.3957190948944E7 }, { "level": 4, "resolution": 9783.93962049996, "scale": 3.6978595474472E7 }, { "level": 5, "resolution": 4891.96981024998, "scale": 1.8489297737236E7 }, { "level": 6, "resolution": 2445.98490512499, "scale": 9244648.868618 }, { "level": 7, "resolution": 1222.992452562495, "scale": 4622324.434309 }, { "level": 8, "resolution": 611.4962262813797, "scale": 2311162.217155 }, { "level": 9, "resolution": 305.74811314055756, "scale": 1155581.108577 }, { "level": 10, "resolution": 152.87405657041106, "scale": 577790.554289 }, { "level": 11, "resolution": 76.4370282850732, "scale": 288895.277144 }, { "level": 12, "resolution": 38.2185141425366, "scale": 144447.638572 }, { "level": 13, "resolution": 19.1092570712683, "scale": 72223.819286 }, { "level": 14, "resolution": 9.55462853563415, "scale": 36111.909643 }, { "level": 15, "resolution": 4.77731426794937, "scale": 18055.954822 }, { "level": 16, "resolution": 2.38865713397468, "scale": 9027.977411 }, { "level": 17, "resolution": 1.19432856685505, "scale": 4513.988705 }, { "level": 18, "resolution": 0.5971642835598172, "scale": 2256.994353 }, { "level": 19, "resolution": 0.29858214164761665, "scale": 1128.497176 }, { "level": 20, "resolution": 0.15, "scale": 700 }, { "level": 21, "resolution": 0.1, "scale": 500 }, { "level": 22, "resolution": 0.05, "scale": 250 }, { "level": 23, "resolution": 0.01, "scale": 100 }]; map = new Map("mapDiv", { basemap: "streets", center: [-120.327, 46.38], zoom: 10, lods: mylods });

Is it possible to zoom in past level 19 with the using the streets or satellite basemaps? I don't care if the base tiles disappear, I have shapes from a feature layer that I would like to be able to zoom in to and get more detail. It is ok if the base tiles disappear when it is zoom in past level 19. Is this possible in the javascript api? It is possibe using the WPF SDK but changing the MinimumResolution, but I can't find a way to do it in with the javascript api.

Is there any way to manipulate the JSON or format of data before you push it to a external website? Or control which fields? Or will I have to do a Field reducer or enricher and put it into another service before i send it to the output?

I'm using the GeoEvent Processor to send out XMPP messages with an output when I get a new feature added to a layer that is inside a particular GeoFence. I have everything working great on that with my GeoServices using a Filter to get features that match a certain criteria, a processor using GeoTag to add the GeoFence, and another processor to join the GeoFence to another layer and get values from it, and send to XMPP. The scenario I'm using is a PTZ camera with presets defined on a polygon layer, and when a new feature is in one of the presets, I get an XMPP message about it. It works great, UNTIL I have overlapping presets and when it gets to my Joining Processor to Field Enrich off of the existing preset (polygon layer) it isn't enriching the field with data because it is either delimited, group or list of matching values and it doesn't enrich the data properly so therefore I don't get data in my message. How do I use a Field Enricher when I'm matching multiple GeoFences? Anyone with ideas? I can send more details if it isn't clear. Thanks in advance.

I'm polling an external JSON web service, and I'm polling at an interval (15 seconds), but the data is just giving me the current state of all of the items in the service. It doesn't give me just new ones, so I'm adding and adding features that are duplicates. I need to be able to poll a service, and only add new features that aren't current in my service. I was able to reduce the number of items by slowing down how fast I poll, and using another GeoEvent Service to monitor the JSON web service for updates. The issue I'm then running into, is if I only poll every 5 or 10 minutes, I don't get that new feature in my service very quickly. I need the data to be coming in as quickly as possible, so I have to poll for new features very often. Does that help? Morgan
