Hi Scott, That is great news. Being greedy; is there any chance of a bug fix for 2.4 before the release of 2.5? Cheers, Morten

Thanks Kory, I have tried to reproduce the error with some random wms-layers that I found with a simple google search. All the examples made ArcGIS Pro crash in the described way. Cheers 🙂

I have submitted several crash reports. I also opened a case with the local vendor (Geoinfo in Denmark), but I would love a direct line to Esri's technical support in this case.

I am experiencing constant crashes in ArcGIS Pro, when I am zooming in the map while editing edges. It only occurs when i have activated Map Topology, and when there is a WMS layer in the map. The steps for reproducing the crash are: Open ArcGIS Pro 2.4 Add any polygon featureclass Add WMS service http://kort.aws.dk/geoserver/aws4_wms/ows?SERVICE=WMS& Activate Map Topology Activate vertice editing, and switch from feature editing to edges editing Try to zoom CRASH!!!! I would love to know what is going on here, or at least if others are experiencing the same Cheers, Morten

I am trying to switch from developing my ArcGIS Pro SDK applications in Visual Studio to Rider from Jetbrains. I have successfully openened an existing solution. I have been able to make edits, compile and debug in ArcGIS Pro. But I have not been able to create new ArcGIS projects, or new ArcGIS Items, as I have not been able to install SDK support in Rider. In all other aspects Rider seems to be a viable, smooth (and cheaper) alternative to Visual Studio. In Visual Studio, I installed the ArcGIS Pro SDK from the VS Marketplace -- both the two plugins: "ArcGIS Pro SDK for .NET" and "ArcGIS Pro SDK for .NET (utilities)". But they are not available in the Rider marketplace. The alternative to installing from the marketplace is to install the corresponding vsix packages from my.esri.com. But I can't install those in Rider either. Does anyone have experience with ArcGIS Pro SDK development in Rider? Is there a way to install it in Rider? If not, I just might have to stick with Visual Studio.

I found the solution. Maybe someone can use it in the future: private void ActivateConstructionTool(string targetLayerName) { QueuedTask.Run(() => { var map = ArcGIS.Desktop.Mapping.MapView.Active.Map; if (map == null) return; foreach (Layer layer in map.GetLayersAsFlattenedList()) { if (layer.Name.Equals(targetLayerName)) { var myTemplates = layer.GetTemplates(); var myTemplate = myTemplates.ToList()[0]; myTemplate.ActivateDefaultToolAsync(); break; } } }); }

I have a map project with some business layers that my users want to edit. For that, the users sometimes need to sketch a support line in a temporary layer. When they are satisfied with the support line, they edit objects in the business layers by tracing along the support line. It sounds like a backwards way of doing things, I know, but it actually makes sense, when the edits you are doing are complex, and sometimes depends on a lot of different background data. Now, my problem is, that I want to activate the construction tool for the support layer by the click of a button. I don't want the user to go into the Create Features tab, and activate it there. Actually, I'd prefer to hide the Create Features tab entirely by configuration, but I can only do that if I can activate construction in code. However, I haven't been able to find examples on how to do this. So now, i turn to you, dear colleagues, in the hope that you can help me.

I am experiencing extremely slow execution times when updating (or creating) very big geometries with 100.000+ vertices. My geodatabase is running on Oracle 12 wit sdo geometries. I have two different methods: Using EditOperation.Update() Finding the feature in it's ArcGIS Pro Layer, updating geometries and attributes and using Feature.Store(). Both methods are equally slow, when operating with very big geometries. Smaller geoetries performs satisfactory with either althought the method 1. seems faster. What could be the issue here ? And what could I do to make it faster?

Hi Kory, I don't have these variables. The only reference to python in environment Variables are in the System variaable "Path" ("c:\python27" and "c:\python27\scripts"). Cheers, Morten

The crashes occur when Pro recalculates the geoprocessing cache, and then crashes without message. Here are some observations: No error message. Just hard shutdown I can't locate any error dump files. In fact, the folder C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\ESRI\ErrorReports does not exist. I tried to reinstall - no changes. I also tried to install 2.2. In 2.2 it doesn't crash. As soon as I update to 2.3 again, the crashes come back. I tried to switch Rendering engine to OpenGL as suggested in other posts. It does not help. 2.3.1 update doesn't fix the issue. I need some tools in 2.3, so sticking with 2.2 is not an option.

I want to do some checks when the user selects a topology edge. I also want to update the userinterface (in a DockPane). MapSelectionChangedEvent is not invoked when you select an edge. I have searched in vain for another event I can subcribe to, but haven't found it. Does it exist at all? Or should I go about this matter in another way?

How do I enable ArcGIS Pro when unit testing in? In ArcObjects, one has to check out a license, but I have not seen any description for this in the ArcGIS Pro API.
