Can I open this back up? This is still an issue with ArcGIS Pro and is very frustrating. I get that there is no stored extent with a pure-SQL Server based layer, but an option not to automatically calculate the extent and default to using the spatial reference would be preferable. With ArcMap, you had a bit of time before the calculation request was actually sent to SQL Server. With ArcGIS Pro, I have yet to successfully intersect. When I click on "Use Spatial Reference Extent", the request to calculate the extent has to wait and cancel, which takes as long as doing nothing. Also, I am able to create OGC tables for any SQL Server layer, couldn't those be referenced by ArcGIS Pro? I like the idea of pre-creating layer files and can think of a way to calculate these.

Setting the level to WARN turns off the bulk of the logger messages: logging.getLogger('arcgis').setLevel(logging.WARN) logging.getLogger('requests').setLevel(logging.WARN) logging.getLogger('requests_oauthlib').setLevel(logging.WARN) logging.getLogger('urllib3').setLevel(logging.WARN)

When I pass a URL to the GIS constructor, I'm getting a lot of DEBUG logging that I'd like to reduce: gis = GIS(url, username, password) Bunches of lines similar to this: 022-08-13 10:16:34,561 DEBUG : Starting new HTTPS connection (1): <url> Normally, I would control this by setting the logging level for the imported library: logging.getLogger('arcgis').setLevel(logging.ERROR) I suspect that this is coming from an underlying HTTP or fetch module imported into the arcgis module. Any suggestions?

I'm looking for a command-line tool to create *.rrd pyramids. I have over 200,000 *.tif files with world file and am looking for the fastest possible solution. Is there an ISCmd to do this or separate utility? I realize that I could do this with either a batch process in ArcCatalog or custom python script, but I'm trying to eliminate as much overhead as I can. I vaguely remember a command-line utility from ESRI to do this, but I'm not finding anything. Thanks, Richard

If you are using projected data, this is a known issue and has been put into SP2. You can try and create the composite locator in a file folder and see if that works. Brad Brad -- do you have more details or another work around? I have two locators based on CT SPCS source. One is parcel based and the other is TIGER. I tried your suggestion, but no luck. Should I redo the individual locators in geographic and then return results in SPCS? Thanks, Richard

It seems that when a map document is used as a template, the document properties aren't being preserved. This is not how MS Office templates work. For the copyright symbol alone, this is worth a bug fix :). Maybe someone can confirm this or suggest a workaround. Thanks, Richard

I've been slowly converting my old Map Templates into Map Documents and saving in the default template folder for v10.0. I just noticed that my Map Document Properties, such as Title, Author, and Credits aren't being carried over into the new document when I open using the template. They are still there in the origional document (template), but disappear from the new "Untitled" document. Am I doing this wrong? Any suggestions? Thanks, Richard

This is a tough one. I have 8.1 million images spread across 36 Image Services, each with their own ISP. I have a custom Image Service client using the ISClient.dll in VB.NET. The Image Services work fine in ArcMap. The Image Services work fine in my test desktop app using my custom client. The specific ISClient.dll method fails in a web method with zero debugging opportunity. Basically, the Worker Process completely exits (crashes) without running the Catch or Finally or the unhandled exception event; all of which are supposed to be protected for just this reason. I've never seen anything like this. I've had this issue with a few locations in only two of my image services, but it is repeatable at those locations. There are no errors in the Image Service. Nothing in the logs. Any suggestions would be great? Richard ArcGIS Image Server v9.3.1
