Currently you have to configure and save a separate web map for each app, if the map has different layers or filters applied. Allow the user to create one web map containing all of the published layers, turned off. In the App, such as Web App Builder or Dashboards, allow the user to turn on and filter the layers needed for the app. The app saves these settings. This creates a cleaner publishing process. The user only has to maintain the published layers in one map, and the app remembers the layer settings. If the database schema gets updated, and the layers have to be republished, only one web map must be updated. The App settings remain the same.

Thanks Nathan, It is difficult to recommend UPDM to our clients when the current Location Referencing tools are not working. For the updated tools, can you please: test them on UPDM 2020 in both a SQL Server and an Oracle environment add more specific error messages (most of the time I get 99999 call tech support) If AppendRoutes is supposed to load the centerline geometry into PipelineLine, and we also load PipeSegment data into PipelineLine, clarify the logic on how we differentiate centerline geometry PipelineLine data from pipe segment PipelineLine data. Currently, the centerline geometry PipelineLine data looks like it is pipe data incorrectly loaded... Thanks, Marissa

Has anyone encountered issues with the Append Routes tool using UPDM 2020 database on SQL Server? I have ArcGIS enterprise 10.8.1, and ArcPro 2.6.1. My UPDM 2020 has both a Utility Network and LRS, and PipelineLine is configured as the centerline. The AppendRoutes tool requires attribute mapping for EngineeringNetwork, and also loads the centerline geometry into PipelineLine. In order for data to load into PipelineLine, you must have an AssetType. AppendRoutes does not accept AssetType as an attribute. ArcPro 2.6.1 has an excellent data validation system, so there is now no way I can load valid centerlines using the Append Routes tool....I have been working with Esri tech support on this error for several months now.. Does anyone have a work around? When will AppendRoutes be updated to correct this? AppendRoutes works perfectly in a file geodatabase... Thanks,

Thanks, I will be on the lookout for that! I have not encountered issues when loading new data into an empty UPDM 2020 file gdb, using the Location Referencing tools and ArcPy.

What issues did you run into? I created a UPDM 2020 file gdb with UN and APR and was able to load data into the file gdb...Its the SQl Server version I am encountering issues with. I used ArcGIS pro 2.6.1 for all of it.

UPDM - Create New Asset Type and Asset Group Tool The UPDM comes with a set of asset types and groups, but these types do not cover everything needed for a pipeline database. This new tool, in the Utility Network Package toolbox, is your new friend. In one single tool, you can: Add a new Asset Group, such as Bend Add all the asset types, such as overbend, sag bend, induction bend Add the connectivity rules, such as bend must be connected to pipe, is probably not connected to a test lead, will not be connected to a pigging structure Note the 'probably not' scenario. Probably not is a good option to have, when you would like to have all the pipeline data but it's legacy data and some of it doesn't exist. In that case you're lucky to have the pipe and a launcher, and are missing all the pipe in between. 'Probably Not' tells you the data is missing, but let's you continue using the database. Do all of the behind the scenes work to add this new asset group in, correctly The tool is easily called from a python script

Hi Paula, At the top of this geonet page is the UPDM 2019 zip file by Tom Dewitte (UPDM 2019 Edition ).This zipped file contains the UPDM asset package (file geodatabase) with the Gas utility network included. The asset package includes the domains and everything you need to get started creating an enterprise UPDM with the utility network. If you want to add more asset groups, you can extend this file geodatabase, but keep in mind you have to add additional utility network rules when you add new asset groups. Cheers, Marissa

Currently in modelbuilder you can Add fields (multiple), but you cannot Add Coded Values to Domains (multiple). You have to add domain values one tool module at a time, which is time consuming. Create an Add Coded Values to Domains (multiple) tool which allows the user to Paste In multiple formatted domain values, using a json dictionary. This way the user can format the multiple values in excel and paste it into the tool, not type them into individual fields.
