Thank you Andrew, A colleague has started working with tech support behind the scenes and they have indicated that there is an issue with the yaw, pitch and roll like you mentioned. I'll give the workaround a try and let you know how it goes. Mike

Hi, I'm working with Drone2Map for ArcGIS (final release) and I can't get it to process drone imagery that worked in beta. I get the message below that an XML file validation failed: Odd thing is that the sample data that comes with the software can be processed. When comparing the underlying .p4d XML files that get generated by Drone2Map I see some minor differences between the sample data and my data but nothing that points to an error. Anyone got their own imagery to work with Drone2Map for ArcGIS final or have a suggestion to solve this? Thanks, Mike

Thanks, this is a good suggestion. In the end I found some Adware that got downloaded as part of some FTP software that was giving my system some grief. I removed it and everything seems to be with Earth now. I'll keep the suggestion in mind in case the issue returns.

I've been using ArcGIS Earth for a couple months and it has performed great. Today though I can't use it without it crashing. Adding different data sources (Scene services, KML) that I've added before or just navigating cause it to crash. I've tried uninstalling it, reinstalling it, repairing the install. I've tried going back to version 1.0 and I've also tried changing the 3D settings for my preferred graphics processor in my NVIDIA Control Panel. None of this has resolved the crashing issue. Does anyone have any suggestions on troubleshooting this type of problem?

Hey Jeremy, It took me some time to revisit this issue and for some reason now I can't replicate it anymore. I can export to all formats from the existing aprx files without error or crash. I've even loaded more elements into the Layout and the export continues to work. I'm not sure what changed but everything seems fine now. Thanks for your input. Mike

Thanks Jeremy, I updated to Prerelease Update 2 this morning but the problem still persists. My newly created projects work but older ones crash on the layout export. In troubleshooting I renamed the C:\Users\mgregotski\AppData\Local\ESRI\ArcGISPro1.0 folder and then open Pro and tried the export again but it still failed. Do you have any other suggestions or old folders that I could rename that might be holding onto old settings? Thanks, Mike

Hi Jeremy, Thanks for your response. An uninstall and reinstall fixed the save error. I'm now tackling the export layout problem again. I can export layouts from new projects that just have a map in the layout. This works fine and is good. So I've tried adding some more elements to the layouts and exporting. This will either: -make the exported file on disk and then crash Pro or -crash Pro without creating the file on disk Do you have any further suggestions or is there any kind of log file that Pro writes to disk? I've looked for one but haven't been able to find it. Mike

Thanks for your response Jeremy. I tried a new layout with nothing in it. Then did the export and I got the same results, a crash. So I tried creating a new project with just a default map and a blank layout. I got the same results when exporting the layout, a crash. I've noticed now that I am unable to save my projects anymore as well. Whenever a new project is created or I try to save it I get this error (also below): ArcGIS Project Failed to save the current project. Error: Project Service::SaveProjectAsync Failed I was going to uninstall and reinstall but thought that you might have another suggestion. Do you have a suggestion? Thanks, Mike PS. Thanks for your retweets!

Hi, I am not able to use the Share > Export Map function on any Layout that I have in any project in Pro. I’ve tried exporting to different formats (BMP, JPG, TIF, PDF), used different projects (with just a map in the layout) and also tried two different computers but Pro always crashes during the export. See the attached screen capture. I can export from a map without error. Is there something that I need to do before I export the layout? I’m using 1.0 Prerelease Update, Build 1566. Thanks, Mike

I have two layers in an Operations Dashboard that I want to report some information on: 1) A polygon layer of Conservation Areas 2) A point layer of Wells that has attribute information about how much water can be taken from the well per day. I'm trying to use the various widgets to get information about the wells in a selected Conservation Area. For example: a sum of all the Wells in the selected Conservation Area. the total amount of water in all the Wells in the selected Conservation Area that can be taken in a day. From what I can see none of the widgets allow you to interact with information between two layers. You can only get information reported on one layer. Have I missed something here or are the widgets just meant to work on one layer only? Thanks, Mike

Hi, When you open the map for the first time in Collector it will always take you to your current location. Is there a way to turn off this functionality or disable the map from doing this? Here's why I want to do this: I've set some maps up that I want to demonstrate to some colleagues of how the collection process works. I want to use one map that I've set up in my current office location to collect and update points that I've already collected. My colleagues are in different offices around town so when I open the map when I'm at their location I get zoomed to their location and then I need to zoom back (or use a bookmark) to take me to where my data points are located. Can anyone suggest a way to stop Collector from doing this? Thanks, Mike

I heard from Esri that this isn't currently possible in the Esri Maps Web Part. It is something that may be included in the future. As a workaround, I could group the data and then turn off the groups I don't want to see. This could work a bit like filtering but for now I'll stick with the ArcGIS Web Map Part for when filtering is needed.

Hi, I've got some data (ArcGIS Server feature services) that I have been using in the older ArcGIS Web Map Part. The data has been filtered using the Filter tool in the Layer menu. This works great since I can filter my services based on attributes. I'm now creating a new page with the Esri Maps Web Part and I want to fitler these same ArcGIS feature services. The problem is that it doesn't look like filtering is available for the new Esri Maps Web Part. Can anyone comment on if this Filter functionality is available in the Esri Maps Web Part or if there are plans on adding it in a future release? Thank you, Mike

Hi, Filtering only works with ArcGIS Server feature services. It doesn't work on SharePoint lists and GeoRSS feeds. This information in the help details how the filtering is done on ArcGIS Server feature services: http://doc.arcgis.com/en/maps-for-sharepoint/arcgis-map-web-part/filter-layers.htm Mike

Hi Rowland, You need to make sure that you are using an ArcGIS Server feature service in your map to enable the filter functionality in the Silverlight based ArcGIS Map Web Part. You can't do it on SharePoint lists or ArcGIS Server map services. This tricked me up since I couldn't get filtering to work until I enabled my ArcGIS Server map service with feature access. This part of the help details how filtering is done with an ArcGIS Server feature service: http://doc.arcgis.com/en/maps-for-sharepoint/arcgis-map-web-part/filter-layers.htm Mike
