We are attempting to configure a Proxy Page to allow some 3rd party developers the ability to access secure services in ArcGIS Enterprise. Our Portal is open to the internet with our Web Adapter in the DMZ. The Web Adapter is configured to authenticate with Active Directory (AD) using Integrated Windows Authentication. We have a copy of our AD in the DMZ. All map services are secure. The proxy appears to be running correctly on IIS as the "ping" returns a valid response. { "Proxy Version": "1.1.2", "Configuration File": "OK", "Log File": "Not Exist/Readable"}
I believe that I have configure the proxy.config correctly to access the Map Service but I receive the following error when I attempt to test access with the following URL. https://my.DNS.here/DotNet/proxy.ashx?https://my.DNS.here/server/rest/services/Service_Design/MapServer/?f=pjson { "error": { "code": 499, "message": "Token Required", "details": [] } }
My proxy.config is below. <ProxyConfig allowedReferers="*" mustMatch="true" > <serverUrls> <serverUrl url="https://<my.DNS.here>/server/rest/services/Service_Design/MapServer" tokenServiceUri="https://<my.DNS.here>/arcgis/sharing/generateToken" domain="<my domain is here>" username="<my username is in here, it is able to access the Portal>" password="<my password is here>" matchAll="true"/> </serverUrls> Any ideas what I am missing here?

Thanks Mike, that worked. I had to make a minor change since the destination is a text field. IIF(IsNull([EventID]),"[GlobalID]","[EventID]") -Mike

We have a field (EventID) in our database (APDM) that behaves as the unique identifier for each feature . We have used a class extension that would generate a GUID value and populate this field only if the field was NULL. Is it possible to have Attribute Assistant behave in this same fashion? I have tried using the GUID option, the Copy Field option and even the Expression option (IIF [EVENID] is Null, [GlobalID] else "Do Nothing")(this is not the exact expression I used). Any ideas on how we might be able to do this? -Mike

This doesn't appear to be possible. Below is a link to an Ideas request to get this feature put in. https://c.na9.visual.force.com/apex/ideaView?id=08730000000brQ3AAI#

I am in the process of learning what can be done with Python Add-ins for ArcGIS 10.1 and would like to know if anyone has seen any examples with using the onCreateFeature event. What we are specifically looking for is the ability to auto populate fields whenever the a new feature is created. For example, to populate an ID field or generate XY values. Has anyone seen any examples for this kind of thing? -Mike

I have spent some time reading the numerous threads about setting the identify task to work with layer toggling and I seem to have it working properly except for one small issue. The identify task will continue to work even though all of the layers are turned off. The Pop-Up dialogue will show "searching" for some time, until the JavaScript times out. The more problematic issue is that the task will lock up a SOC process until it times out as well, which is much longer than the JavaScript time out. This gives the user the ability to use the identify task again, repeating the process above, and locking up another SOC process. Since 2 SOC processes are the default this means that the service is useless until one of them times out. Click below to view an example of this behavior. This is hitting the ArcGIS.com sample server so you will have to take my word on the "hung" SOC processes. http://geoville.org/viewers/identifytoggle/ My question is two fold. 1: Could this be a bug? 2: Any ideas on how to keep the identify task from executing when there are no layers visible? Thanks for your help. I have also posted this question on StackExchange here. http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/12772/identify-with-layer-toggling

There may be a way around this. I believe I have used it in the past but it has been a while. Use the Make Query Table tool on your table before you create your Event Layer. This will add an ObjectID field, which is required for selections, and just may be required for the find task as well. http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//00170000006r000000.htm Hope it helps. -Mike

I am creating a map that will provide coordinates when a point is clicked on the map. I want to have a graphic provided on the clicked location so I am going to using the drawing functionality as well. Where I am stuck so far is how do I clear the last point when a new point is clicked? I have pasted my code below.

I have noticed that the list of available attributes is automatically populated on field that have a Domain assigned. Outside of this I have not seen any other way when accessing data through ArcGIS Server. Fields Subtypes don't populate either. Hope this helps. -Mike

You might try passing into the Field Calculator tool. It won't be as fast as the UpdateCursor but it gets the job done. We frequently use this approach. gp.CalculateField_management("featureclass", "field", <Parcel Variable Here>, "VB") -Mike
