Thanks for the quick reply James. I am familiar with this process for adding fields through the Details Page > Data Tab. Unfortunately, with this particular feature service there is not an option to add a field where it normally should be. There are only options to append data to layer, show/hide selection, and clear selection. All my other hosted feature services have the option to add fields. I can't think of anything other than a schema lock somewhere although i'm not sure how AGO handles those.

Hey James Tedrick I've configured a survey to work with an already existing hosted feature service that has since been integrated into a website using ClientID/Secret. I now need to add an additional field to the form/feature service and am unable to. When I try to add it in the form i get that error "the field doesn't exist in the feature service." However, through AGO I am not seeing the option to add a field. I'm logged in as the data owner, have tried adding the field after toggling editing privileges for the layer and the two view layers built off of it, and have tried adding the field through Pro where I'm hit with error 000852. Since I am the data owner and the data is not read only, the only thing I can think of is that there is somehow a lock created by the ClientID/Secret used to access the data through the website. Your thoughts on how I could successfully add a field to this survey and feature service are very much appreciated!

I know it's possible to reverse geocode in survey 123 through the calculation field but don't believe it is possible to perform a regular geocode in the same fashion. My initial through was use a calculation that pulls data from the address fields the user inputs earlier in the survey and use my organizations geocode service get the x,y coordinates, then feed that to the geopoint field. I am struggling to make this happen and am wondering if it is even possible?

Hi James, I was wondering if you had anymore information on this, specifically option 1. My organization has a geocoder that I am hoping to use. I'm looking to get a point created through a geocode for each form after it is submitted. I'm trying to get this automated so it happens as soon as a user submits a form though i'm struggling to find the workaround to get this implemented. Is there any information you have that could assist me in getting this working?

I've created a public facing form and I would like to send an email to the user when they submit the form. One of the fields in the form is for the users email address. I would like to use the email address that the user inputs into this field to send a confirmation email to when the user submits the form. Is this currently possible with Survey 123? Could this be accomplished with webhooks?I've seen workflows that use Geoevent server but in those workflows an email is sent to the same email address for every survey.

Our organization is increasing their use of hosted feature layers. We have seen an increased performance from our apps and that is pushing us in this direction. I am wondering if anyone can weigh in on some of the practices they have found to be successful in managing hosted feature layers. Specifically, how is the original data (from before it was hosted) stored, in an archive feature dataset or separated geodatabase? Is it deleted once it becomes hosted? Are backups taken of these hosted layers by exporting and downloading from ArcGIS online? Any guidance is greatly appreciated as we are still trying to figure out the best way to manage our transition to mostly hosted data.

Currently I am generating Unique IDs for features in a hosted feature service as they are collected using a database trigger. I would like to generate unique IDs on a hosted feature layer in the same fashion. Since this data does not flow through our SQL database I am unable to use a database trigger. I believe this may be possible to accomplish using arcade expressions. I am wondering if anyone has used arcade expressions to generate unique IDs or generated a unique ID for a hosted feature layer some other way? Ideally these unique IDs would be generated for features as they are collected.
