I read in a JSON with multiple points. I want to create a polygon that contains all the points. Seems there was a way to do this JS 3.X, https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/3/sandbox/sandbox.html?sample=util_convexhull I cannot find out how to do it 4.x I don't want the map extent; the area is too large. I've tried to do the extent of a Graphics Layer after adding the points, it defaults to +-180 / +-90. I was trying to do the geometryService.ConvexHull and could not figure out how to properly insert the point geometries. Any help is appreciated.

If someone comes across this post, this is what I ended up doing. I am not saying this is the best solution. My setup is running, and we are not seeing any issues, yet. Two 2016 servers in two geographical locations. DFS-Replication and Share are running. Because DFS requires the servers to be a member of a Domain, each ArcGIS server is a Domain Controller (for Domain redundancy) in the same domain, a simple 3 server domain. The AGS Config-Store and Directories point to C:\gisdfs\ not a domain share and are their own DFS Replication. I have another DFS Replication, c:\gisdata, that houses my Geocoder and File Geodatabase files. This has a DFS Share. I have services that point back to the Share and have it registered to the AGS server. The third server in this domain is running Arc Desktop to publish the services. I had to join it to the domain because non domain systems cannot access a DFS Share.

I ended up rebuilding the OS on the systems to get past the issue. Hopefully there is a better way, but I was running out of time.

I have not, shouldn't need to, right? These are two internal AGS systems and are in my Dev environment. I am simply trying to get two AGS systems into one AGS Site. On these same systems, (OS = Win 2016), I installed AGS before and was able to join them to the same site. I then wanted to change the config store location, so I uninstalled AGS from each machine. I also deleted the arcgis server folders. I then re installed AGS, and when trying to join the B machine to Site A, I get this error.

I have a new installation of 10.6 on machine A in it's own site. I installed 10.6 on machine B. When I try to join machine B to machine A's Site, I get a message stating: Failed to join the site 'https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:6443/arcgis/admin/' Enable SSL Failed. I have confirmed on machine A, via admin/security/config that HTTP And HTTPS Protocols are enabled. I get the same Enable SSL Failed message if I try to add machine B from machine A via Manager. Thoughts?

My proposed configuration is having the two servers in the same AGS Site but in two different geographical locations. I currently have single machines in separate AGS Sites in the two geographical locations as you suggested. Problem with that setup is because all my services are secure and when switching between the two servers the user is prompted for the service username and password when the layer refreshes. Note: I recently discovered I can use the same token key at both locations (that may help this situation) but I am not sure how well that will work, nor does it create a true redundancy of services. Do you know the answers to the following: How often is the Configuration Store accessed? When does the Configuration Store change? Can I place the Directory Files (Cache, Jobs, Output, & System) on the respective system's local drive and not on a shared network drive? What solution did people use for the Configuration Store across geographical locations? Thanks for your time and input.

I am sure this has been done before. So I don’t have to reinvent the wheel, what is the best solution? Scenario: I have two Virtual Servers (ESXi) in the same AGS Site located in two different geographical locations. The other location is my disaster recovery site. What is the best way to host the Configuration Store network location? Two clustered Windows Servers is overkill. Will RoboCopy every minute be sufficient? How often are is the Configuration Store updated? Only when a service is published or changed? Are there locks on files that I need to worry about? Do the Directory Files (Cache, Jobs, Output, & System) need to be stored remotely too or can I place them on their respective C drive? Thanks - Mark

Found the problem. The server I was connecting to and having issues was not a 2012, it is a 2008. ESRI stopped supporting 2008 in 10.4. I guess they pulled the plug in 10.6 because it still works in 10.5.1. I hope this helps someone out.

From ArcMap, I tried to Add Data / Add Query Layer and selected the SQL connection I am having issues with. I get the following popup: Underlying DBMS error[[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Incorrect syntax near ' '.] It looks like a space between the single quotes. I installed the ODBC driver from My ESRI, to see if that helped, Microsoft_ODBC_Driver_131_SQL_Server_64bit_157967.exe, it did not. I believe this error is typically because I don't have the SQL Native Clients installed; they are.

I updated Arc Desktop from 10.5.1 to 10.6. I have two 2012 SQL Servers I connect to to get SQL Views. One of the servers no longer displays the views. On my other Arc Desktop, 10.5.1, I see the views on both servers. I have updated the SQL Native Client to 11.4.7001.0, even rebooted the system. Recreating the SQL Connection did not fix it. What am I missing?

Anyone have an idea on how to add a header on the actual ArcGIS Server? I am not using the ArcGIS Web adapter.

Am I able to tweak the ArcGIS publisher to add headers to the service replies? We have multiple single install ArcGIS servers accessible from one HTML5 app. I'd like to add a header to the service reply so I know which server it came from.

Problem solved... let me expand on my issue and the resolution. Issue: I had two services going to two different MS SQL views. View 1 only displayed icons on the map if all the icons were in the current map extent. View 2 displayed icons on the map regardless if the icons were in the current map extent or not. When I grabbed the View, I was casting the coordinates to numeric type. This process has worked fine over the past 3 years. This morning, I had the problem stated above. Things Discovered: In ArcMAP, I could do an Identify on the layer after they disappeared from the map - no identify results would appear - but an 'Error' did appear on the Identify window. I was able to mouse over the Error and see a popup explaining it was having issues with converting the varchar type to numeric. View 1 coordinates came to me, from MS SQL as varchar type. View 2 coordinates came to me, from MS SQL as int type. In ArcMAP, looking at the fields in the layer properties you can see the Appearance \ Number Format is set to Numeric for both Views. But the Field Details \ Data Type was set to Float for View 1 and Double in View 2. Resolution: Perform a second CAST on View 1 to change the coordinates from varchar type to int type, then cast as numeric. Like so: CAST(CAST(Latitude AS int) AS numeric) /1000000 as latitude, CAST(CAST(Longitude AS int) AS numeric) /-1000000 as longitude The math part is to add the decimal and negative characters back into the values. The varchar and int type removes the decimal and negative characters.

I am using ArcGIS 10.5 Desktop and Server pulling a Query Layer from a MS SQL View. When I move the map where a point falls of the current map extent, hit refresh, all the points remove from the map. It does this in ArcMap and as a published service. Thoughts? Thanks Mark
