Thank you for replying but all i want to know is, when the default tabs of the arcgis explorer are opened, they will be docked on the left hand side, with some fixed height and width, how the programmers use this feature for their customized DockWindow?

Hello I am trying to dock or place a DockWindow programmatically, i.e if any user clicks on my add-in (DockWindow), the dockwindow which opens up, should automatically place itself just like the Content Window or Measure Tools etc are done in ArcGIS Explorer. How to do that. Can anyone throw some light on this? Thanx

Thank you very much Andriy for the reposnse ...I am glad to say that, it did help. But, as this ClearCache() method is for Layer Type(applicable only to ServiceLayer), and not for ServiceChildLayer,... is there any way to get the name of the ServiceLayer of the ServiceChildLayer which I have? Since by using ServiceChildLayer.Parent will only give me the name of the immediate parent of it, the parent can be another ServiceChildLayer or a ServiceLayer. But in my case I am trying to access the ServiceLayer of the ServiceChildLayer directly, irrespective of its level.

Dear all, My query is how to refresh the ActiveMapDisplay i.e, to say the current displayed map in arcgis explorer programmatically, (using c#.net). The actual issue is, when I am trying to change the visibility (on/off) of a ServiceLayer from code-behind, it happens successfully and the map refreshes automatically.... but in case of a ServiceChildLayer, it doesn't reflect on the mapdisplay, unless the the map is refreshed from the content window.... ServiceChildLayer scl=new ServiceChildLayer(); scl.Visible=false; the above code does change the property of the servicechildlayer..but it does not reflected on the map.. so.. Is there any method to refresh the activemapdisplay?....is my question thanx in advance

Regarding, accessing FeaureLayer through c# code in arcExplorer, I am facing problem in implementing the code snippet which has given on ESRI resources @ http://resources.esri.com/help/900/arcgisexplorer/sdk/doc/49051a25-7752-415b-8925-06e8e83c1114.htm which says: [C#] //Return the feature layer. FeatureLayer campsitesLayer = Application.ActiveMapDisplay.Map.FindByName( "Campsites")as FeatureLayer; //Return the renderer associated with the layer. FeatureRenderer renderer = campsitesLayer.Renderer; //Assign a new symbol to the layer. renderer.SetSymbol(Symbol.Marker.Recreation.Camping); When I give like, FeatureLayer fl = ESRI.ArcGISExplorer.Application.Application.ActiveMapDisplay.Map.FindByName( "Cities")as FeatureLayer; nothing is being assigned to "fl" .. and "fl" remains null. And in the code snippet, it is written like "Application.ActiveMapDisplay.Map.FindByName( "Campsites")as FeatureLayer;" but without adding " ESRI.ArcGISExplorer.Application." in the front of the code given there, ambiguity error arises in my ArcExplorer. Can anyone help with this problem.!!
