The highlight option was very useful to me in ArcMap (so was the statistics but that's another story) when viewing fields in the attribute table. In Pro I can't see any effect in the attribute table. Anyone else run into this?

Well, my problem was "solved" by exporting my target file to a shp and then performing the spatial join and table joining back to my original target feature class. This export-to-shp-file trick has worked for me on several occasions involving spatial or table joins and field calculations, fwiw. Not an ideal situation, but after several hours wasted on a join, I'll take what I can get.

Thanks Dan. Yes, join fields are long integers and I double-checked my coordinate systems and they match. This is a bit frustrating. I already take many of my files to ArcMap for table joins and fields calcs. Pro is cool but I'm having time-soaking problems with pretty basic tasks.

Hi Dan. "Many to one" is not an option (tho, one-to-many is but not relevant) and my task aligns with the pop-up description of one-to-one.

This should be a simple thing but I have not been able to accomplish a spatial join summing two binary fields in a point feature class joined to a polygon feature class. The join completes but the sums of the two binary fields as shown here are not calculated (resulting join fields = 0 for all polygons). Ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks again Dan. I'm a Numpy novice but keen to do more. It sounds like we both have similar non-Numpy workarounds for this for the fast turn-around stuff. As always, your insight is appreciated!

Thank you very much Dan, your expertise is always helpful! Not creating a new feature class would be great, but I have tried several methods to save the re-ordered fields: export as shp file, export as new FC, etc. I have had success building a completely new table in Excel (with properly ordered fields) and joining to a "skeleton" shp, but searching for a better workaround. It sounds like I may be missing a common approach for this.

Is it possible to permanently re-order the fields in a feature class? I seem to recall this may be a new function in Pro but can't discover how to do it.

Thought this may be helpful to some. It seems that Pro will not select a single hollow (no fill color) polygon by selecting in the interior of the polygon. It will select multiple polygons if you run the selection tool over a boundary. Selection works fine with filled polygons.
