I was active on this post several times a few years ago and I found a way to do this: Select the layer in contents Right click or select Data Ribbon tab Select Data Engineering Drop the field you'd like to calculate records on and select records. Click Calculate.

I created various maps in an ArcGIS Project. The maps have different symbology, labeling, shading, etc. I used Share > Web Map to share the first map onto our Enterprise Portal. I'd like to share the rest of the maps since they're created the way I'd like them to look online, but I do not need multiple Map Image Layers/Web Layers copied over. Is there a way to only upload the "Web Map" without the "Web Map Layers" since they're already part of my content from my first upload? See below.

Thank you, I'll try this solution. The problem is intermittent, I am not sure what triggers it, so I will leave this unresolved until I can find something that works.

When I attempt to reconcile, I get the message "Another application is currently editing the version." I have been editing and reconciled/posted this morning with no issues. This problem occurs intermittently, with no changes in program usage. It occurred a few weeks ago to me and is occurring again. A team mate has reported she now had the issue with her ArcGIS Pro. Right now the solution has just been wait and see. I'm using version ArcGIS Pro 2.8.3.

I ended up speaking with Esri customer service. The solution was fixed when I went through these steps: Problem: Graphics card conflict may cause ArcMap to crash My colleague was having the same issue (we have the same computer) and he went through another set of steps also suggested by Esri customer service, which tells ArcMap which graphics card to use. Set ArcMap with a specific Graphic Card Open the Windows Settings > System Click on System > Display In the Multiple Displays menu, click on Graphics settings In the drop-down menu, select Desktop Application Browse the ArcMap.exe file located in C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Desktop10.x\bin\ArcMap Select ArcMap, click on Options, and select the graphic card from the laptop Save changes and run ArcMap Following this protocol, now both ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro are working as expected with .mxd files.

Hello, I use ArcGIS Pro and the rest of my team uses ArcMap. I sometimes get assignments that require me to import map documents to work with the same template my team has used in the past. A more recent development is that ArcGIS Pro crashes immediately when I try and import a map document file. I've done this in the past, but it does not work now. I am using the latest version (2.8.1). Curiously and probably related, I cannot open ArcMap 10.8 on my computer anymore either. I guess these two are related and welcome suggestions. The error report for this has been sent, but error reports for ArcGIS Pro fail more often than not. Thank you.

Thanks, @KoryKramer , we're good, although actually updating the enterprise geodatabase for layers was tricky. The help article I mentioned above didn't work for batch (or at least I couldn't figure it out). I eventually used help from an Esri technical article and from another user. I'm the first and only member on my team using Pro, so I'm thankful for the quick responses on these forums.

Hello, We are moving servers and I'm trying to follow the steps here, but I do not get very far because ArcGIS Pro crashes and attempts to send an error report (often these fail, too). Pro itself has not been unstable when just using the Map view. Any suggestions? I'm using 2.7.0

Robert, I'm sorry for the delayed response. I didn't realize there has a reply. In ArcMap, the selection color can be selected and the polygon will be filled that color when it's selected (see screenshots below). When I do the same in ArcPro, only the outline is assigned the color. We tried toggling the fill of the polygon (which we prefer transparent) and it still only colored the outline when selected.

When I select a polygon in ArcGIS Pro, it highlights the boundary of that feature. My boss has been asking if I can 'fill' the selected feature like he does in ArcMap. Is that a functionality in Pro? I can't seem to find it.

The best explanation I've seen as to why they don't have it the way it was in ArcMap is because the emphasis on pro is repeatable workflows. I understand that, I personally love coding for that reason. However, from the forums I've crawled on the issue, it seems people really want the quick, ad-hoc stats tool. Those kinds of details may be small, but because it's used so often in our workflow, it's the type of thing that would stop another colleague from jumping from ArcMap to Pro.

Correct, we're just looking for something quick to calculate the sum of a field after we've selected it. We don't need an output table from the Summary Statistics tool.

Unfortunately not, Joe. The solution by Trish Rice does give me the statistics for my selection, but you'll notice it also gives the statistics for the entire data set. I am looking for an option to turn off the calculation of statistics for the entire data set, as it is large and I think slowing down the calculation of just the selection. Hence, it's slower than the feature in ArcMap and not going to make the cut for addressing our needs during presentations.

Thank you all for showing your helpful graphics. Is there a way to only calculate the statistics for the selected features? This is important for us because we do ad-hoc stats on the fly to address questions during our virtual presentations. I'm the newest team member, and the only one using ArcGIS Pro consistently, so I've seen others do statistics of selected features very quickly with ArcMap. Currently, navigating to the attribute table > right clicking the field > getting statistics is already clunky enough for my team, but then it takes longer to calculate the statistics because it does so for the entire data set as well as my selection. I'd like the default to be only the selection, if possible. Thank you
