Hi @JimmyBowden The check for a UTE license was removed from the trace call on the Utility Network Service with ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2. Depending on what client you are using, you should now be able to trace without a UTE as long as you move forward to ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2. thanks, larry

@shildebrand Just as an FYI, you can also create a selection layer from the Subtype Group Layer and then do a join to that.

Thanks for the feedback. This is not the first time we've gotten this request. We are taking a look at this and other licensing changes with the next couple of releases.

What you describe makes sense, but what it would mean is adding a new feature class to every domain network. Instead of having the 5 features classes (devices, junctions, assemblies, lines, and subnetlines) for each domain network we would then have 6. This would be a very significant change for this one use case that would have an impact on every data model across all disciplines. Other things currently being modeled in the structure boundary class (substations, cabinets, bays, etc.) could also be thought of as electric specific items, so would you also move them to an electric polygon assembly class?

Hi David, For reasons you state, administrators of the system will be able to lock and deploy the setting through the application management functionality: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/get-started/application-setting-management.htm#. Hopefully that helps. Larry

Hi Malcolm, We plan to support the ability to Save or Discard edits in Pro 3.1 when working against non-versioned data. By default edits will be saved automatically as they are now, but through the options setting the user will have the ability to enable a single workspace edit session. Through this session users will have the ability to save or discard edits. Larry

Hi @DavidWheelock2, We've been discussing how to approach this requirement and were not able to get something into the Pro 3.0 release. We have an approach now that we are aiming to include with the Pro 3.1 release. Hopefully we can get it done for that release (if not that one, the next), as we understand the importance. Thanks, larry Esri Product Management

Hi Mike, Sorry you are running into issues. The timeout problem mentioned at the beginning of this thread is one we have encountered before with solutions/workarounds including the one that Amir outlines for increasing the time out. Pro should never crash, though, so for that alone we would ask that you enter an issue with support. They will presumably need to get a copy of your database and some information on which version(s) you have tried to reconcile/post without success. We are always working on improving the performance of all aspects of the software including rec/post. It should be possible to reconcile and post a version with a 1000+ edits, so would be important for us to see what is going on in your case. Thanks, larry

While Pro 2.6 can work with utility networks created with previous versions of Enterprise, you do need Enterprise 10.8.1 in order to create a new network with ArcGIS Pro 2.6. These two help topics explain the relationship between ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise and the version of the utility network that is created: Utility network upgrade history—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation Utility network dataset administration—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation The error message you received is incorrect and we are working on addressing that, but you will need ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1 in order to create a utility network with ArcGIS Pro 2.6. The alternative is to use ArcGIS Pro 2.5 to create an earlier version of the utility network (a version 3 utility network) in your Enterprise 10.7.1 environment, and then you can work with it in Pro 2.6.

Following up more on this ... Please see the help here: Utility network dataset administration—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation We try hard not to increment the version of the utility network, but the gist of this documentation is that ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1 is required to create new networks with Pro 2.6 due to an upgrade of the utility network. At this stage of the development of the utility network it is sometimes necessary to increment the version of the network. With this release we had a significant change with the addition of nonspatial object tables (edge and junction objects) to the model. ArcGIS Enterprise versions prior to 10.8.1 have no knowledge of these changes and therefore cannot support the current version (version 4) of the network. You can still use Pro 2.6 to work with existing networks in earlier versions of ArcGIS Enterprise, but you will need to move forward to 10.8.1 in order to create a new network with Pro 2.6. You can still create new networks with earlier versions of ArcGIS Enterprise by using earlier versions of Pro as you did. Once created, Pro 2.6 can be used to maintain the network. The logic here is to maintain consistency with file geodatabase versions of the utility network. If you use Pro 2.6 to create a new utility network in a file geodatabase it will be a version 4 network supporting nonspatial objects. In order to support the same with multi-user geodatabases, ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1 is required. What we do need to do is update the error/warning message because you should not have been told there was a licensing issue.

Thanks for pointing out the issue. We've reproduced it in house and will get a fix out as soon as we can. As you noted, the work around for now is to use an earlier version of Pro to create the network and then you can move forward. Thanks, larry

Hi Ryan, Exporting and importing an asset package is the current way to move utility networks from one geodatabase to another. We are working on copy/paste capabilities, but do not expect them to be available for another release or two. Sorry for the inconvenience. Larry

Hi Andrew, Have you looked at creating a Table template for the Conductor Info record(s) and then using the Relationship tab for the Transmission Line template to define the number of related records to add when you sketch a new Transmission Line feature? I believe the help topic here: Feature templates—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation (scroll down to the Table template section) addresses what you want to do. larry

Hi Rhett, That is actually one of the issues we do have on the list to put out as a 10.6.1 UTUP patch. We are in the middle of finishing up a bounce back patch for 10.2.1 as well as the ArcGIS Pro 2.5 and Enterprise 10.8 releases, though, so a little backup at the moment. Hoping to get the 10.6.1 patch out by the end of the year. Sorry to keep you waiting on this. Have you talked to your account rep about putting in a hot fix request for you? thanks, larry
