Not sure if it's been mentioned but cloning via the interface in Pro does work if you give it enough time. It seems to let you exit the interface prematurely, resulting in an incomplete clone. But if you wait it works just fine. I assume that is part of the bug.

Clinton Dow has this been resolved in any released version of ArcGIS? Or is there a Nimbus # associated with it yet? I'm also running into this at 10.4.1, though it is easy enough to work around.

I don't think you'll be able to use arcpy for this, but you should be able to do it with COM and ArcObjects. You said you tried using comtypes, perhaps you should pursue that approach directly with another question. Also you might ask on http://gis.stackexchange.com and reference this question: http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/80/how-do-i-access-arcobjects-from-python

Another thing to note is that the Oracle "IN" operator is limited to 1000 elements by default; thus you would need to break up your IN statements by OR operators and keep each one to 1000 elements.

Not sure what to tell ya, it works for me: >>> fc = r"C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\DeveloperKit10.0\Samples\data\SanFrancisco\SanFrancisco.gdb\Transportation\Streets" >>> table = r"C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\DeveloperKit10.0\Samples\data\SanFrancisco\SanFrancisco.gdb\Streets_DailyProfiles" >>> featLyr = arcpy.MakeFeatureLayer_management(fc) >>> tblView = arcpy.MakeTableView_management(table) >>> arcpy.AddJoin_management(featLyr, "ID", tblView, "NETWORK_ID") <Result 'Streets_Layer'> >>> rows = arcpy.SearchCursor(featLyr) >>> row = rows.next() >>> row.getValue("Streets.ID") 78400003854190.0 >>> row.getValue("Streets_DailyProfiles.NETWORK_ID") 78400003854190.0 I assume you used a closing quote in your second example, and just missed it on the forum post?

Try row.getValue("SO_SOIL_P.OBJECTID") instead. You could also use a variable instead of a string literal, i.e. row.getValue(fieldName), where fieldName is a variable assigned previously.

In 10.1 I believe Python add-ins will be able to do this, but for 10.0 and earlier you would need to use ArcObjects.

The existing geoprocessing framework has facilities for this sort of thing without custom GUIs or code. Simply create a script tool and set one of the input parameters to be of type Feature Layer and that parameter will become a listbox on the tool dialog with a list of all the feature layers in the current ArcMap document as well as temporary feature layers that have been created during the current session through other means such as Make Feature Layer. This works similarly with Table Views and possibly other parameter types. I would strongly recommend taking advantage the geoprocessing framework where possible instead of reinventing the wheel.

Is there any way to delete geoprocessing history from the metadata in ArcGIS 10. There was a script for 9.3.x that did this, but I'm a little reluctant to use it in 10, because of the changes in Metadata from 9 to 10 http://resources.arcgis.com/gallery/file/geodatabase/details?entryID=0F00C386-1422-2418-7FA6-03F84C1B3FBA

SetProgressor only takes effect when you run the script as a script tool from within an ArcGIS application (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, etc.). Running it standalone or from a Python IDE/interpreter, it will not display the progress dialog.

Have you considered using a spatial join? You could then use a regular join and calculate the desired field from the joined layer.
