Daniel Adding plus one as you did solves the problem, thanks. My question is: Why do we have to do this? Is there a bug in the data conversion or am I doing it wrong? javascript holds the months (and i think days too) in arrays, the arrays are 0 based. so month[0] is january and month[11] is december so unless you add the 1 your month would actually be off by 1.

using: esri.dijit.editing.Editor-all is it possible to target / highlight an attribute form field in the attribute inspector? i have not yet found anything in the api that looks like i can do this, just wondering if its possible. i see the editor doing it when invalid items are selected, changing other attribute form field red and giving them an '!', i want to be able to just select a form field and highlight in a similar fation (but with out the graphics). thanks for your time.

so, your pic is like 28x28? and your setting the h,w to 32x32 to get a background white border to show through? doesn't the constructor just stretch the pic to fit the actual parameters set (ie 32x32)? thus hiding your white border? if this is the case (and i am not sure it is), could you use 2 symbols? one larger (and under) the other? with the pic on top of the other symbol?

im not sure i understand what you're asking.... take all the javascript you have in the posted example... the code you supplied. put a <div id='map'></div> anywhere on your existing web page.... that div, with the javascript should give you an embedded map on your web page.

using a tool like firebug, you can actually look at the IdentifyResult during run time. simply place a console.log(IdentifyResult); in your javascript code, then make sure the firebug window is open before you fire your identify. the object will show up in your firebug window, and you can browse through the various parts of your object.

i have used the legend, inside a panel like that example. you shouldnt need to modify the html inside the dijit.... if the legend div is wide enough, the icon/label will be side by side. if the div is not wide enough, it will auto wrap.

does the map you are working on meet the following requirement? If the layers are version 10 or lower the legend is created using the ArcGIS.com legend service. In order to use the ArcGIS.com legend service your map service needs to be publicly accessible and your application must be able to access ArcGIS.com. source

is it possible to dynamically grab the layers from a feature service? currently i have the layers hardcoded in my application... i have been tinkering some, and can do this:
var tmp = "http://myserver/ArcGIS/rest/services/webedit/FeatureServer/";
var max = 9;
for(var i=0;i<max;i++){
var fl = new esri.layers.FeatureLayer(tmp+i,{
mode: esri.layers.FeatureLayer.MODE_ONDEMAND,
outFields:["*"]
});
editLayers.push(fl);
}
however this is not ideal, because i sitll must go out to look at the service to see what to set the max to.... i would love to do something like:
//var tmp = "http://myserver/ArcGIS/rest/services/webedit/FeatureServer/";
var tmp = new esri.layers.featurelayer(myservice);
var max = tmp.layers.count;
for(var i=0;i<max;i++){
var fl = new esri.layers.FeatureLayer(tmp+i,{
mode: esri.layers.FeatureLayer.MODE_ONDEMAND,
outFields:["*"]
});
editLayers.push(fl);
}
this way, the gis guys can go about changing the service how they want.. and i wont have to make any changes to my application.... heh. the gis team only get my services for a short time, then im off to other projects.
