Import XY From Excel and ArcGIS Pro Says Microsoft Access Database Engine 2013 or 2016 is Not Installed

Blog Post created by liliasmile05132 on Sep 29, 2019

Question:

I use ArcGIS Pro to import my XY data from an Excel spreadsheet, but ArcGIS Pro asked me to install Microsoft Access Database Engine.

However, I tried to install the 64 bit version of the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016, but it fails with this error message:

You cannot install the 64-bit version of Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016 because you currently have 32-bit Office products installed. If you want to install 64-bit Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016, you will first need to remove the 32-bit installation of Office products. After uninstalling the following product(s), rerun setup in order to install the 64-bit version of Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016:

Office 16 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component

So I downloaded and tried to install the 32-bit version of the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016, but it fails with this error message:

Resolution:

This probably can be resolved by installing the 32 bit 2010 ActiveDataBase Engine.

Download Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable from Official Microsoft Download Center
