Hi, folks! I'm in 10.0 still, and ever since 10 came along, I've had more difficulty copying and pasting data from one database to another, since I'm forced to copy and paste by individual subtypes rather than by layers. One layer could have 20 subtypes, so that makes things extremely tedious. I could probably create an individual database for a project and "load" the data layer by layer into our production database, but I'm asking all of you out there if there's a better way to copy and paste multiple layers over by project and being able to preserve all of the subtypes. Thanks! Kirsten

Thanks for that. So I now how to get a list of mxds, but I need to know which ones have data layers that are pointing to a certain path. Then I need to replace the paths in those mxds with a new path.

Oh, thanks for the suggestion to move it to Python. I've never posted to this forum before, so I was unaware.

Hello there. We have a vast amount of mxds, and my goal is to search that entire drive and find out which mxds have layers that are referencing a specific source path. Then I would like to know how to replace that specific source path with the new source path. I would presume that this would require a python script. All of the scripts I've found so far require that I know the name of the particular mxd in question. I'm trying to scan all of the mxds in the drive. Thanks, Kirsten
