Hi all, Hope someone is able to spread some festive GIS assistance. I have a raster layer that features a lake. The pixel values associated with the lake area return 'NoData' for this particular data set. Is there a way to assign a value only to the cells that represent the lake? best wishes, Rob

Hi I'm using Arc10.3.1 the input layer is a shapefile feature class layer of buildings. The clip layer is a feature class land use layer. The land use layer has worked as a clip on a road network layer but wont on the buildings. You can see at the top of the extent that the buildings outside of the landuse layer remain following a clip. Thanks.

Hi All, Trying to run a simple extraction of one feature layer via 'clip' of another feature layer. When i run the clip the output still has features outside of the clip feature. Any thought on where i might be going wrong?? I have run 'clip' using the same clip feature on other input layers and it works fine. Thanks

Thanks for your reply Dan. The buffer method worked. I now have polygons representing the roads. I have however encountered another hurdle. I now want to incorporate/overlay these road polygons into a layer of habitat types so that they replace the polygon underneath (effectively becoming a habitat category itself). Any ideas on how to achieve this would be most welcome? thanks

Many thanks for the replies, much appreciated. The data is from Ordnance Survey local vector data. I tried the feature to line method but all I achieve is a few polygons created inbetween the road network, rather than filling the casing itself. I had thought about the buffer method as I have road center line data too. Thanks again, i'll see if I have any joy.

Hi, i'm trying to achieve a polygon layer that represents the roads in my study area. I have my road data, which is multiple polylines making up the road casing. I'm struggling to find a way to convert these polylines into a single polygon of the road network. Any help much appreciated, Thanks

hi Jayanta. thanks for the reply. no, the points have the data attributes already. i converted a raster to points so i could add extra point data. i just want to now convert back to raster. the resulting values of the conversion output appear to be nodata. i tried shutting down arcmap and rerunning the conversion and it seems to work when i do this. puzzled???

Hi, When converting a point layer to raster using the 'point to raster' tool, the output seemingly returns no data. Can someone suggest where I may be going wrong please?

Yeh, I've processed around 10 of these in preparation for use in MAXENT. I can see nothing different with this layer prior to the extraction or in the mask environment. The mask is only being used to reduce the extent and cell size to that of the template, as the original input already has the desired CRS. ARCMap does seem to have been struggling today and crashed on the last attempt. Which brings me here Is it possible that Arcmap is just having a fit?

Thanks for the reply Darren. I've tried starting from scratch with the original data layer having deleted all previous attempts. Same thing every time. Any other thoughts? cheers
