width & height config options aren't documented? Closest I found was: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/jsapi/#namespace_esri/config http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/jshelp/#inside_defaults A link from the Map class doc would be nice 🙂

The containing div had a width set (via a css style). I'm using bootstrap for layout. It seemed that the DOM hadn't loaded when new'ing up the map. I rejigged where I'm wiring up the map and seems to have stopped applying the inline style, and filling the space defined by the parent div.

I have this scenario where an inline style is applied to the 'map' div setting the width and height to 400? e.g. <div class="map" style="width: 400px; height: 400px"></div> This is happening intermittently after new'ing up the esri map: self.map = new esri.Map("map", { extent: self.gismapConfig.initialExtent, logo: true, infoWindow: popup, autoResize: true }); What might cause this?? Thanks

I just troubleshooted a similar problem in IE8. I observed that IE wouldn't even POST to the server, the 'Access Denied' message came from IE. I tracked this down to a page served up over HTTPS trying to invoke a request (e.g. ESRI identify task) to a resource over HTTP, and across domains. By also ensuring the resource came over HTTPS, the browser was able to POST back. The resource was the sample proxy.ashx as provided by ESRI on their Working with a proxy page.

Hi Thanks for the response. It turned out the error was caused by an invalid layer. This was in the logs on the server (which, as a client dev, I don't have access to). I understand that the layer is updated on a nightly basis - something went wrong in that process. It makes sense that this error doesn't propagate to the client, as it's an internal implementation/detail. Are there any diagnostic APIs? It would be nice if you could query the server status, e.g. layer health. I'm not sure if this is an isolated incident or if this is something I can handle / be proactive. Regards

Hi I am executing an IdentifyTask and am receiving the following error: Error {code: 500, message: "Error performing identify", details: Array[0], log: true} This IdentifyTask has worked previously and I have tried trimming it back (e.g. return geometry false, etc.). It typically returns 30 features from about 16 layers. Is there logging on the server? How can I get more information about the cause? Thanks

I found this note under Popup.setFeatures which describes the behavior I'm seeing as well as an approach: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/jsapi/#Popup/setFeatures setFeatures(features) Associate an array of features or an array of deferreds that return features with the info window. The first feature in the array is automatically selected. Note:When setFeatures is used the title area displays the number of features and the index of the currently selected feature and ignores the title defined in the info template. If you want to display title text you will need to specify it as part of the info window content. It might be good to add a comment to that affect in the sample 🙂

Hi I followed the sample: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/jssamples/#sample/find_popup In the sample, the title is always set to empty: new esri.InfoTemplate("", "Parcel ID: ${PARCELID}"); How do I actually specify a title? I have tried: new esri.InfoTemplate("TITLE", "Parcel ID: ${PARCELID}"); ... and a few variations, searched through the InfoTemplate, PopupTemplate etc samples, but the title just won't come through.
