This is embarrassing for me to ask. I have never had this problem before. Yesterday everything was fine at work, then after putting the kids to bed that night, I had to log in to do a few more edits at home. I shut down, then plugged in this morning at the office. After opening an MXD, I realized that my toolbars at the top were completely out of order, and they never have been in the past. I work at night a couple times per week and this has never been an issue. Now, I can't get my toolbars to stay where I want them. Every MXD opens up with scrambled toolbars. I've tried re-saving the Normal.mxt on my C drive, but nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions?? I'm running 10.6.1. Thanks for any insight as this is maddening.

Hello! I'm trying to extract a stream network using Arc Hydro. Performing the sink function results in a usable DEM. My problem is this. Using the resulting sink DEM to create flow direction and stream definition grids results in straight stream segments where there should be bends in the stream. The stream network is not accurate or usable because of this. Is there a way to adjust the sink function to fill in just minor sinks, but still maintain the integrity of the actual stream shape in the original DEM? Please see attachment for an example. Thanks.

Thanks, guys. No, I don't have experience with image classification or segmentation, so the learning curve may be slightly too long. Looks like I'm digitizing, but I'm determined to learn this for future reference. Thanks again!

I have a quick question regarding extracting features from an aerial photograph. I am trying to extract woodlands from an NAIP and am wondering the best way to do this? What is the tool I would use to do this? The project I'm working on is somewhat time-sensitive and I do not have time to trace the aerial image. Thanks.

Thanks, Steve. I wound up creating another raster dataset and using the CutFill tool. Worked like a charm. I should have known that was the answer as I used CutFill to create the floodplains as well. ha! Thanks again.

Hello all, I am doing a comparison between two surfaces, the determining how much of that surface has changed within the floodplain I have delineated in this area. The original was flown in 1998 and the newer one was flown in 2012. I was able to use the Raster Math tool to determine exactly where and by how much the surface has changed above or below the original elevation. I was able to manually break the symbology to show what portion of the surface has gone down 2 feet or more from the original, but here I get stuck. I need a way to extract only that portion of the raster, then convert it to a polygon and quantify area of -2ft. change within the floodplain. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am stumped here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Kelly

Hi all. I'm having a bit of trouble filling sinks in a DEM I'm working with and would like to know if I am missing a step. I open the Fill tool, enter the surface raster with gaps to be filled, set the location and name of the output raster and leave the z limit blank so it defaults to filling all sinks, regardless of depth. However, my output raster has the same sinks as before. I tried it again by setting the z limit to match the maximum elevation in the DEM, but to no avail. Any thoughts? It seems like this should be a fairly simple fix, but I just can't get a handle on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello. I have a question that may seem easy to some of you, but I am stumped and need your help. I had a conversation with a co-worker this afternoon about a project we are working on where they need drainage areas. I have 3 meter DEMs that cover the desired area and was wondering if there was a way to use these DEMs to develop a shapefile consisting of said drainage areas. I'm guessing I need to convert to flow direction rasters? If so, what is the next step after that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello all, I am working on a floodplain mapping project and have created depth grid rasters for each stream within the 100 year floodplain of the desired area. I have used the Mosaic to New Raster tool as well as Workspace to New Mosaic. Both produce a seamless depth grid for the entire area, but the new raster dataset seems to shift to the southeast by 60-80 ft. Have any of you experienced shifting when using either of these tools? If so, what would be the most efficient way of fixing this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
