I was just on this site the other day...did not down load anything for the very confusion you mention. Thanks for some clarification and steps for these other work flows!

I have an ArcGIS Feature Service which contains 8 line/point layers that is being consumed by the Shortlist Map Builder AGOL map and in turn being displayed in a Shortlist Story Map. Interestingly the feature service in the Story Map is viewable only in a desktop browser window but not a mobile browser window when opened. I've tried it on both an IOS IPAD and on safari and chrome as well as a Motorola phone in chrome browser. I feel like it's a setting in the ArcGIS Server Feature Service but I've checked and don't think I'm missing anything. I've also noticed a message in the browser "not secure". Next work around would to upload it as a AGOL (hosted) Feature Service and add to the shortlist builder agol map, which is not preferable but a possibility.

I was also having this issue after upgrading to 10.5.1. After some hours of wasted trouble shooting, I resolved to try publishing with ArcGIS Pro. Low and Behold, success. Imgur

does the green star at top indicate that or do I mark that somewhere in the original post?

Oh, right on, we're just getting into really pushing out services so the more info I have the better. Thanks. I'm planning on pushing localized basemaps out so info on optimization of these is great. Have you pushed out any image services using Orthoimagery mosaics? That's on my list as well.

Ok, thanks! That makes sense. Thanks for the tips. I've been overwriting them without stopping them with success but I'll take the second to stop them. I've been setting the cache to manual as well mostly because the pre-assigned caches from ESRI were not what I was looking for.

I noticed that while overwriting some of my Feature Services to my ArcGIS for Server, a second service is created once the process is run and complete. It has the name of my primary service that I'm overwriting but then has "_20161201203" for example, a time stamp of sorts. My question is what should I be doing with this and is there any purpose for it? I tried looking in the help for the tool but didn't find anything on this. I've attached a screen shot to illustrate what I'm talking about when viewing the services in Server Manager. note: these feature services are being deployed for consumption by a third party software to access, update, add, delete data in an SQL database.

We've been using Collector to edit data we stored in the AGOL cloud for an Alarm Line system that was mapped using Collector and ArcGIS for Desktop 10.2.2. Attachments and edits suddenly started failing about two weeks ago. We are about to try and host it on our ArcGIS for Server as a feature service with an SQL backend server but this makes me wonder if even that will work to help remedy the issues with attachments or just complicate things based on your comments here.

Sounds like you might need to do some tuning on the back end of your SQL database, if you're using SQL express remember there's only a 10gb per database max and even less for earlier versions. Some of the questions Quinn asked would be helpful to pin point the problem.
