Derek, I just tested the JSFiddle link with Firefox 7.0.1 and I see the error. Specifically, if I zoom out to the lowest notch of the zoom slider, the scalebar disappears. When I zoom back in one step at a time, the scalebar doesn't re-appear until the initial extent (3rd notch from bottom of zoom slider, when lowest notch is counted as 1). Screen res is 1440x900 and Firefox window was maximized.

Congrats on a great, well-organized site, Steve. I really like the topic areas, and how easily you can change from one topic to another. Maybe you already know, but James Fee gave kudos to your site on his blog: http://www.spatiallyadjusted.com/2011/02/25/the-world-she-be-a-changing/

Have you seen this example, which adds hyperlinks to the identify results? Some JS code is required to build the hyperlink (they aren't automatic), but it looks relatively simple. http://help.arcgis.com/EN/webapi/javascript/arcgis/help/jssamples_start.htm#jssamples/fl_infowindow.html

I actually prefer what's being described as a "harsh" recenter. This way I can double-click once to zoom to my location of interest, then use the zoom slider to easily see large- or medium-scale views. When that spot that I am most interested in stays in the center, it makes it easier to compare between scales. I don't have to take the time to adjust for my location of interest "jumping around" on the map.

Further research has shown that this is only an issue when working in a virtual environment. Will investigate to determine if the issue is caused by not enough resources dedicated to the VM, or something else. When testing using a "regular" Windows XP computer in a non-virtual environment I could not repeat the problem.

After drawing a new feature then panning the map in the JS API, the feature is usually (approx 75% of the time) shifted in comparison to the basemap. This happens when holding down the mouse button and "dragging" the cursor to pan. While panning the feature will be in the correct location. However, after releasing the mouse button to complete the panning process the feature will be shifted in the same direction as the pan (e.g. if you pan west, or drag left to right, the feature will be shifted to the west). This is evident in the Point of Interest (Editable Fire Map) sample. Even after closing the browser then reopening it and returning to that sample, the features I added in the first session will shift after panning.
