Hi there! I'm creating a pretty complex experience builder app. This app provides info to the public about their property (parcel information, home information, taxes, and so forth). I think I need help with conditional visibility of large elements of this site. Here's why: We have a heap of pages within the ExB that show summary reports for things like taxes and property values. BUT, if you click on the menu that takes you to these pages before you input your property into the search, these pages show with blanks (well placeholders for fields with the {} around them like {AcctNo}). Also, on the front page for this site, we offer a guided tour of a person's property where they would see info in a scrolling experience of screen groups and blocks. All with this same placeholder issue. Take a look at the images below for examples of what we're talking about. So, I'd like to alter the front page so that buttons for other pages within the ExB only show up after you enter something into the search widget and that the screen groups and blocks that are lower on this page only show up then as well. We have a java script wiz on staff here, so we can dig in through ExB Developer, but kinda could use some guidance on how to turn these element off and on (and any sample code would be worth it's weight in beers to us!). Thanks in advance for all the help! Kevin

Hi all, I am trying to make a snappy looking page on experience builder. Basically, on another page view on this ExB, a person can select their property on a map and see some basic details. On this page, there's info about the selected features. I want to grab some cells from the database about this property and put them into a snappy looking table (see the attached version from another county). But in the example I'm showing, the data are in two columns that would be both the field names in my database and then the info from one row about one property. If I insert a table widget then it's going to give me just one long row with columns for all of the things I'd like to show. If I insert a feature info widget I get it displayed vertically, but it's showing more rows than I want for this dataset (I have another view that uses the feature info widget so I need to use all that info in that other view). The only thing I can think of is to stack text boxes with dynamic text in a block. This seems terribly time consuming and wasteful. Is there another more elegant way to transpose date from the attribute table into a vertical table?

Selecting for ESRI online maps is challenging overall. In my work, I often have multiple stacked or overlapping polygons. Yes, I know this is bad topology, but we all play the hand we're dealt. So, being able to select and view multiple with a click would be invaluable in this environment.

I often struggle with the documentation/instructions because they lack pictures. In particular, when instructions say something like “click on the bottom of the edit window and then the add feature button.” It’s hard because a lot of tools/buttons/etc. are not labeled in Pro. So, just sticking a little screen capture showing that tool and where it is in Pro would be super helpful!

Hi! I'm working on a complex viewshed analysis project. As part of this, I'm trying to estimate the location of windows on a polygon that represents a building. So, I'm wondering if there is a way to get a set of points from the polygon that represent the midpoint of each side of a polygon? I'm not averse to doing a polygon to polyline conversion or anything like that. Just trying to think through a workflow that can be applied to 100,000+ polygons! Thank you!

Hello, One of my field crew is running into an issue when taking photos using Field Maps where he gets an unfixable error of "acquiring location." Our workflow is: Go to work location Select a parcel (polygon) Take photo of this location (Sometimes) take additional photos of same location from different angles Update fields in dataset for this location However, recently when he's been in the field here is what happens: Go to work location Select a parcel Take photo of location Field Maps says "Acquiring Location" and will not save photo or ever acquire location He has to restart app and retake photo He states that in the past this error was very rare (a couple times a day). Now, he's seeing it almost every other time he tries to take a photo. He has been using the beta version of Field Maps because the non-beta was crashing on startup (there's another thread about this problem on this forum now). However, he was having this problem with the old non-beta version occasionally, so not sure if it's a beta issue or something else. Thanks for any advice!

Two weeks? Wow! We have crews out there now. The app worked last week for them and stopped this week. Can you back out to the last rev in the non-beta or something?

One of the members of my field crew just started having this problem today. He's been using the same app in the field for weeks and suddenly this problem. I had him update his OS, remove and reinstall Field Maps, clear cache, and on and on. I yelled at his device, told it that I was going to send it to work in the spice mine in Kessel. Nothing works. We can open the app, see user settings, and so forth. But, as soon as you tap on any of the maps that I created on AGOL, the app crashes.

I’d love to be able to add additional filters for one. So I’d love to be able to click the legend for one particular attribute (say only show homes with a permit for an addition) and then be able to set a filter for between the value of $10000 and $5000o. Then maybe be able to see a data table of the filtered features.

Hi all, New to Experience Builder. I love the interactive legend Instant App that ESRI provides. However, I want to add a lot of functionality, like extra buttons, etc. (which doesn't seem possible). Is there a way to create the interactive legend like it has using ExBu? I see I can create a list that can be filtered, but that seems to give one entry for every feature in my dataset. I would love something where I can click on the legend, all other legend items disappear. Is this functionality something I'm missing, but exists? Cheers, Kevin

Hi there, I need to take photos and associate them with polygons using Field Maps. There are often multiple photos associated with a given feature. I would like to have a way to label these photos as "primary, secondary, etc." so that users know which photos are the most valuable for our purposes. Is there a way to tag these photos or rename them as part of the process of acquisition?

My workflow with Field Maps involves changing attributes and adding photos in the field. While Field Maps allows edit multiple features at once, I cannot see a way to add attachments to multiple selected features. This is helpful in my case because I may select multiple building or parcel polygons and want to add a single photo that would be associated with each of these features in my dataset.

This worked! Thank you. I will mark it as a solution! For any future readers, I found one small typo: on line 12, there needs to be an "=" after out_fields. But, your solution was brillian @jcarlson! Thank you so much!

The FULL polygon dataset and table are large (130k entries), but I have tried on a subset of about 5,000 and it still fails. I'm medium on Python. I can update, change, and tinker with Python scripts and cut and paste stuff together pretty well. If you have an example script, I can probably (with considerable cursing) modify it to work with my data.
