Devon thanks again for your help. Could setting up Reverse Proxy for the portal allow mobile device (Survey123 app) to access the portal? Or is VPN only option? thanks Don

Devon, Thank you very much for the info. I should have checked the documentation more carefully. After I submitted my posting, I've gone through the steps you've described above and it worked. I was able to add survey123.com to App Launcher. And I am able to navigate to survey123.com with my portal url initialized. Now, when I try to create a survey using "Survey Connect", it creates feature service on portal but it doesn't allow me to publish the form. And I am getting "Error 400". Do you know what this error referring to? Can you tell me what other steps I need to take so my survey 123 mobile app can access my portal resource? Do I still need to setup portal with reverse proxy or are there ways without having to setup reverse proxy? thanks for your time Don Kang

Devon I've just setup ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6 (a single machine setup) and it's sitting behind firewall. So obviously I wouldn't be able access the portal outside of my company network. Can I use reverse proxy method to handle this, and to work with Survey123? Basically I have my network person to create public portal url using my local portal url. And when someone tries to access my portal using this public portal url, our reverse proxy will do the magic to allow getting into the portal. Would this work? I am not familiar with Survey123 at all, but guy that is working with Survey123 with ArcGIS Online want to utilize our portal resource now. Please let me know if any other things or setup that I should consider for Portal to work with Survey123. thanks for your time. Don Kang

Hello, I am fairly new to ArcGIS Runtime. I am building Xamarin Forms app. I have login page at the beginning and goes to map page once user is authenticated. For Android, I have no issues. It compiles and behaves how I have it designed to. However, when I try to test for IOS, I get exception error at Main.cs // This is the main entry point of the application. static void Main(string[] args) { // if you want to use a different Application Delegate class from "AppDelegate" // you can specify it here. UIApplication.Main(args, null, "AppDelegate"); } I've set a break point in my login page and gone through every line of code and nothing really is wrong. But when login page try's to navigate to the MapPage, I get error message like the attached image. Appreciated if anyone can share your thoughts. thanks Don

Hello Joe, How did you ended up showing all the attribute information. Coming from Javascript API world, I am finding out working with runtime sdk very challenging. I would love to display more than just one line of attribute info. I would like to display attributes in tabular format like yours. Can you please share your code? thanks Don

Thanks for your comments. What xamarin option do you use? Xamarin Forms, IOS or Android? I am considering Forms option but since I might not have Mac available to me anytime soon, I am also considering just use Android option only. thanks Don

I have a new project coming up and requirements lead me to consider mobile app option. I am coming from Javascript API side and have no prior knowledge developing any mobile app. Xamarin option looks nice fit because I am very familiar with C#. I also like the fact that you can deploy to multiple devices. If I may, I just wanted get your opinions, comments, experiences using ArcGIS Runtime with Xamarin. Thanks for your time. Don

I just posted my finding about ArcGIS Server patch and didn't see your posting. I am wondering if ArcGIS Server patch will fix our issue without having to use 3.20. I have 3.15 version configured locally, if ArcGIS Server patch is fix for something else, I will need to download 3.20 and configure. I've tested little bit, so far I am able make things to work and I am using 3.15. So the new ArcGIS Server patch seemed to fix the issue without having to use 3.20. (Not 100% confident yet) Don

Bug it is! And this from ESRI Tech Support. I tested on this issue, since the setLayerDefinitions requires an array of string, so even you provided a json object, it will still convert it to array object, which is a conflict with 10.5 service, so just like being discussed in the geonet thread, it is a bug, and currently the workaround might be keep using 10.3 service until we fixed this issue, so I submitted a bug regarding this issue: [BUG-000102051:setLayerDefinitions() function against dynamicmapservicelayer doesn't work for 10.5 services since the simple syntax is not valid for 10.5 anymore. thanks Don

Thanks for your info. Luckily my production environment is still in 10.3. I was in the process setting up a new production server with 10.5. And yes this is a major issue. My app simply would not function if layer Definition issue is not fixed. I've contacted ESRI support with your posting. I will let you know if I hear anything from ESRI. thanks Don

I am having similar issues. It has taken me all day with 4 different ESRI Tech support to figure out. As mentioned in the attached, layerDefs using simple syntax is no longer supported starting 10.5. Meaning, it only works with Json Syntax. Currently, I am working to migrate 10.3 Server to 10.5. Using 10.5 service my application do not work and turns out to be due to this reason. I am trying to figure out how to convert following to JSON syntax. var layerDefinitions = [];
layerDefinitions[0] = "POPULATION > 5000000";
layerDefinitions[5] = "AREA > 100000";
dynamicMapServiceLayer.setLayerDefinitions(layerDefinitions);

Jeff, I just saw the example, very promising. I hope they are offering ways for me to enter rotation angle value instead of having to rely on mouse wheel only. I wonder how long before ESRI would make it available? thanks Don
