The permissions & locations are ok, so it appears I can't do anything at all with mosaic datasets anymore now that I've only got Pro with just the basic license. Any work around ideas?

I found a description of the procedure I think ArcMAP used to get the non-transparent drape effect. Having trouble putting it into a function chain in Pro. https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/product/imagery/an-alternative-to-overlaying-layer-tints-on-hillshades/?rmediu…

I have a similar problem with Pro 2.4 except when I zoom in too far into the mosaic I get the black & white chess board pattern, which is doubly strange as the map background is set to blue. No zoom display restrictions I can find anywhere, no idea why it does this. Toggling the DRA option makes no difference, changing around the stretch type also doesn't seem to change it.

This is helpful, but it doesn't replicate the ArcMAP effect. I wish I knew what else the ArcMAP tool was doing, it has some method for making the overlay fade not needed and something else must be involved as the traditional hillshades produced look rather different.

I'm remaking some ArcMap made annotation over in ArcGIS Pro annotation. I set up some templates for my new annotation in Pro, switched to the map view and tried to place some 6 point template text, and this is what I see: The huge '6p' is the new Pro created annotation, and the small 'Stumps' to the left is imported ArcMap created annotation that was created in map view at 12pt size. What's going on, why is my Pro annotation so huge? Is there some fundamental difference between how Map and Pro determine how to display point size when in the map view? Does anyone know how it translates point size (1 point = 1/72 of an inch) into a size on the map view? Similar results were found with Pro templates I made for 12 and 20 point size.

In ArcMap 10.3, under the raster symbology window, there is a quick & easy hillshade option under the checkbox 'Use Hillshade effect', as below: This checkbox appears to be combining several raster functions in order to produce a non-faded hillshade effect, but I've no good idea which ones. This quick combination checkbox doesn't seem to have any analog in Pro, so what I wan to know is how I can replicate this functionality in Pro? Is there a quick way I'm missing? If not, which functions is ArcMap's 'use hill shade effect' box combining? I can make a hillshade underlay layer using Pro's Raster Functions->Surface->Hillshade tool, but I can't get it to look the same (I'm running Map & Pro side by side for comparison) so I know Map is doing more than just cranking out a hillshade underlay like Pro does. Also of note I don't have 3d or Spatial Analyst for either products.

I have a map series setup with around one hundred pages. Each page has a notes attribute field associated with it that needs to be displayed on each respective page. The length of the notes field varies from a few words to dozens of words, some notes fields also have nothing in them yet. The problem is I seem to be stuck with using a fixed size for the text box across all the pages, so in cases where the notes field is brief or not yet filled out I am stuck with a big empty or mostly empty text box that takes up valuable real estate and looks bad. Is there any way I can make this text box shrink wrap or resize itself to the length of the notes field?
