I'm using the "Geotagged photos to points" tool to extract exif data from many photos to create a point shapefile. The x,y, z coordinates from the photos are not showing up in the new shapefile and thus there are no resulting photo points on my map. I've attached a few of the photos that I'm using. Is there anything that I'm missing here?

Hi Mervyn. I've started doing test flights using targets and the method you described with collector on my Samsung S9. You mentioned that in Collector, you've set averaging to 30 seconds for each point captured. It seems in the settings that my only option for GPS averaging is in the number of locations, and not the number of seconds. I set it to 30 locations. Is that what you meant? Also, what did you set the 'streaming interval' and 'location accuracy' fields to? One more thing. You mentioned using the Extract Values to Points GP tool using the Terrain image service from the Living Atlas. I've found the terrain image service in living atlas but can't seem to find the "extract values to points GP" tool there. Can you point me towards it? Thanks Jason

Thanks for trying to solve this problem Cody. I have not done anything to change the lens on this camera. It may be of interest that it's a refurbished P4P that I bought in July. I've attached a small batch of images from my last flight. Jason

Thanks for the collector recommendation Mervyn. So you're using collector on a phone or tablet/ipad? If so, are you connecting them to any kind of GPS receiver to improve the location data?

Hi Cody, Thanks for the response. I tried to pm you, but apparently I can't unless you're following me? I've attached one of my first flights along with the latest one. It seems like camera optimization values were high from the beginning, but the orthos looked good. I am not using ground control points for most of my fights for two reasons. 1) I don't have a cost-effective way to measure them and 2) Most of the work that I do doesn't need to be that precise. What is the best way to measure GCPs without using a surveyor? Would it be using an RTK receiver such as the arrow 200? I will check on the stability of the P4P gimbal and sensor. Jason

I'm generating orthos with a Phantom 4 Pro, using a 80% forward and 80% side overlap for flights at 100 meters and am routinely getting high values for the relative difference between initial and optimized internal camera parameters. The orthos look good and are fine for projects that don't require survey grade accuracy, but for some projects I need these values to be better. Has anyone run into this problem and found a solution?

I merged 731 photos into an orthophotomosaic, DTM and DSM. I was able to open the DTM, but cannot open the DSM or orthophotomosaic, trying various programs (microsoft office 2010, fast picture viewer pro, or adobe acrobat pro). My end goal is to convert the TIFF to a PDF, but adobe can't open the TIFF to begin the conversion process. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution?

Hi Carmel, This would be for multiple survey entries. I found a solution in the repeat function. I didn't realize that using that function would allow me to only enter survey date, sky condition and observers once, while being able to enter multiple eagle locations (rows in excel). Thanks for your help. Jason

What if I'd like to answer questions at the beginning of a survey that aren't time or date related, and have those answers automatically populate for each record of the survey? For example, I want to record the sky conditions and the observer name once I start the survey and then record sightings of eagles throughout the morning. I don't want to have to record the sky conditions and observer name for every eagle (row in excel) that I observe. Is there a way to do this? Jason

I'm building a simple form in Survey123 Connect. On a given day, I'll be recording multiple observations and want to have to record the date and survey begin time only once. Is there a way to set up the these fields so that I can enter it for the first observation and then have it automatically populate for every one thereafter? Seems like a simple function, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet.
