Hello, Currently, there is no way for you to download the geographies created in BAO for use in ArcGIS for Desktop. You could post this on www.ideas.arcgis.com, which is a forum where you and other users can submit ideas and suggestions for the software and vote up or down on ideas. The development team monitors this page and has used in suggestions in building version 10.1. You could add an idea for the functionality you are desiring, and see if others believe that this is an idea worth voting on.

Do you have MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 3 installed? I have found that this will resolve the issue in many instances. You can download this from: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=15697.

Hi Giovanni, I have created a template for you. All that you need to do to create a template (or modify an existing one for future use) is to follow these steps: 1) Modify the page size in File > Page and Print Setup to 13 in x 19 in 2) Double click on the data frame (Layers) and on the "Size and Position" tab change the Width and Height to 12.5 in x 18.5 in. 3) Save your map in the following location C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop10.0\ArcMap\Templates (on Win 7) or C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\ESRI\Desktop10.0\ArcMap\Templates (XP). Now, you can select this template from the "My Templates" section of the New Document Wizard. Please download this template and store it in the appropriate location from step 3. Best, Juliana

Hi Dave, Does this issue happen if you export your SDE tables to a file or personal geodatabase? If you have the same issue using local GDBs then the issue is ArcMap related. If, however, the issue is not reproducible then it is most likely related to a setting on your SDE. Best, Juliana

Hi Joshua, I believe that the process that you are looking for is related to the data frame reference scale. According to the help ???You can set a reference scale for your data frame, which fixes the size for symbols and text to draw at the desired height and width at the referenced map scale. This is like freezing the symbol and text sizes used in your data frame. One reason to set a reference scale is if you want the detail in your data frame to look the same on-screen as when you print it. It's useful to see the map's symbols on screen at the size they will appear in the printed copy.??? You can learn more about this process by visiting the ArcGIS Desktop 10 Help and referencing the article ???Working with data frame reference scales.??? http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//00660000043v000000.htm I hope that this helps answer your question. Best, Juliana

But since ArcMap cannot import scripts, its useless. Just for clarification, ArcMap does support the use of scripts in languages such as Python and in 10.0 (but not 10.1) VBA. Have a great day! Juliana

Hello, As Alexey already mentioned, Parcel Editor is probably the best way for you to do this. Parcel Editor is included in the ArcEditor and ArcInfo license level. You can find out more by reading the page ??About dividing parcels by area in the parcel fabric? at http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//001t000003wp000000.htm. Hi Brandon, These are the steps to perform this process in ArcGIS Desktop 10, which you mentioned that you have. These steps will not work in ArcGIS Explorer, which is the forum that this question is posted on. The tool that you want to use is the Dissolve tool. This is located in ArcToolBox> Data Management> Generalization> Dissolve. You will need a field to perform your dissolve on, which would be your River Name Field. After that is completed, then you will need to add the geometry to your table to find the length. This will be done automatically if your data is stored in a geodatabase. Additionally, you can follow the steps below. To use this, your data must be in a projected coordinate system. a. Create a new field in your data that is numeric and call it area. b. Right click on the field Calculate Geometry dialog box. c. Click the geometric property you want to calculate. d. Click to use either the coordinate system of the data source or the coordinate system of the data frame. e. Click the units of the output calculations. Additionally, I have included some links to help you: Dissolve: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//00170000005n000000 Adding a geometry field: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//005s00000027000000. Hi Konrad, What version of ArcMap are you using. Based on other forum posts you have made, I am assuming you are using ArcMap 10.0 with an ArcView license. You did, however, say that you were looking for scripts for ArcView 3.0. If you could confirm your version, this would help me in assisting you. Regards, Juliana W. ESRI Desktop Support

Hello, There are many different possible causes for this particular issue that you are having, and if you have access to Technical Support, I would encourage you to log a call. I recently had the same issue where my Spatial Statistics Tools received the red ??X? and I was not able to use them. I was able to resolve this issue by running a repair of ArcMap. To run a repair Navigate to Add/ Remove Programs. Select ArcMap and then when prompted select Repair. This process may take a bit, but it resolved a similar issue for me. Additionally, you may want to try renaming your ESRI Template. This is located here: C:/Users/YourUsername/AppData/Roaming/ESRI. Then you can rename ESRI to ESRI_Old. Regards, Juliana W.
