For anyone else experiencing something similar, It turns out that by deleting and recreating the network dataset, all of the operations began to function as expected.

While using the Network Analyst Closest Facility task in a python script, my solve operation is failing on incidents that have been located on disconnected network segments. I have tried to use: arcpy.Solve_na(cf_layer, terminate_on_solve_error=False, ignore_invalids=True) but then the routes feature is never populated with any data at all, even for incidents that do have a solution. When I run this same operation in ArcMap, solve executes properly with the addition of a warning window displaying the incidents solve was not able to find a solution for. This brings me to my question: 1. Is there a way in python for solve to complete on all other features that do have a valid solution so I can continue with my analysis? If not, am I able to access the Network Analyst warning window within python so I can filter out incidents I know will fail? Thanks in advance, Joe

Our IT shop creates and manages our sde connection files, so I do not have a username or password to make a database connection outside of ArcMap. By SQL access, I mean using the database outside of the esri environment. What I meant by interact is using versioned feature classes and dbms in SQL through a query layer, to generate a table using joins, unions, groups, etc. I know how to do these things with GP tools no problem, what I am interested in seeing are these things happen dynamically while CRUD operations are being performed by other systems. I hope I made myself clear. I appreciate the insight.

Thanks Joshua, this is what I was afraid of. I tend to rely heavily on query layers since I do not have SQL access to my organizations production data. I do see a use case where one might want to interact with dbms tables and geodatabase feature classes in a versioned environment, or maybe I am the exception.

I am looking for a way to set the version that a tables versioned view uses when referenced inside ArcMap 10.3 with a query layer. In sql I can use the following to return records only visible to the version specified in line 1. EXEC sde.version_util.set_current_version('user.version_name');
select * from user.sometable_evw; When a query layer is added into ArcMap, the table of contents shows it as referencing the version set in the sde connection file. In my testing I have found that even though the layer falls under the version you may want, it is only reading rows referenced in the default version. Does anyone know if there is another way to set the version the view is using? Thanks, Joe

John, You are correct on how you would publish the data to the ArcGIS Server. As far as posting edits back to default, you could go about it one of two ways: 1. Review the edits in ArcMap and rec and post manually. 2. Create a python script and do it in a batch job, or even publish it as a GP tool on the server. For best practices, I would start here: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#/What_is_a_feature_service/0154000002w8000000/ Good luck! Joe

I can't seem to "follow the status" of the bug any more, I just get stuck in an endless loop of signing in to my esri global account. Seriously, this needs to be addressed. Every month I come across a situation where this would save me a tremendous amount of time.

I am working with v.3.11 of the JS API and am having issues with the click event for the Bookmarks Dijit. Does anyone have any ideas how to return the actual BookmarkItem that was clicked in the bookmark dijit? Currently, the event returns an object that includes the whole bookmark dijit itself, which seems to defeat the purpose of a click event. Appreciate any help, Joe

I see from the ExportWebMap specification (link below) that rotation can be set in the JSON object sent to the sever. Does anyone know if this can be accessed via the JS API? ExportWebMap specification http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#//0154000004w8000000 Thanks, Joe
