Ok that's what I thought, it isn't possible to maintain a shared boundary with multipart polygons. We can manage without it and maintain 2 separate layers if they need to see the original boundaries. Thanks for your help.

We need to show total acres for the multipart polygons and the users of the data want to see the individual unit boundaries.

I need to preserve the shared boundary between polygons but make them a multipart polygon. Dissolve with the multipart polygon checked still dissolves the shared boundary, and only makes one multipart polygon with separate polygons if they are not adjacent and sharing a boundary. Union also dissolves the shared boundary. The attributes for the adjacent polygons are the same. There are 100s of polygons in this layer so I don't want to use editing tools. I am hoping there is a Toolbox tool that will do this. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks everyone for the excellent feedback. I will try the grid theme. We'd be using this app on Samsung tablets. I had seen Single Choice Grid didn't work on the tablets but tried it anyway and it didn't work. But grid theme looks like it might be just what I was looking for. Thank you!

Does anyone know how I could create a survey that includes a fillable table like the one below. I haven't been able to find a way to do it in Survey123 but I would appreciate any advice. The table would be filled in with height of plant species. The specific plant species would be in the 6 columns. 36 stops are made and each plant species height is measured in inches and entered into the table. We can't use Excel on our tablets, but we can use Survey123. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Cliff from the Trimble Help Desk got back to me today and said the problem is the ExtensionPref.apx file is READ ONLY. To fix this problem with Windows Explorer you can copy that file from your GPS unit to your computer, right click on the file and uncheck the READ ONLY button, then copy the file back to your GPS unit.

I found a fix, but there should be an easier way. Open \My Documents\My ArcPad\ExtensionPrefs.apx with WordPad and find the extension you want to stay checked on, for me it was MrSid, and change the "false" to "true." name="MrSID" enabled="true"

We upgraded a Juno SC and a Nomad to ArcPad 8 service pack 4 and we have found if we check on a "non default" extension it will not save it once ArcPad is closed. We use MrSid files regularly so I checked on the MrSid extensions and hit OK. I was able to add the MrSid images and they drew up just fine, I saved my map. I then opened ArcPad again and the same map and the MrSid images were gone. I had to check the extension back on and then re-add the MrSid images. This issue happens will all "non default" extensions, including the laser ones, GIF, etc. It will be checked on while that ArcPad session is open, but if you close ArcPad and open again you have to recheck on these extensions. Anyone have a fix? Back to service pack 3 maybe?
