The requested functionality is most beneficial in a collaborative and quick print environment. We shouldn't have to work in the layout view for navigating and discussing elements in the data frame. In this scenario you're losing a percentage of your viewable space on the application as you're limited to the size of the layout frame as opposed to the entire canvas in the map frame mode. I agree the activated map frame could be used to navigate the space, but in a room of 20 people reviewing data on the map, it would be more productive to navigate in the map frame and produce updated map graphics on the fly with a linked extent.

This functionality would greatly improve our efficiency during collaborative exercises when reviewing areas and exporting artifacts. I'd like to use the map view for discussion and quickly jump to the layout view to export a graphic when needed. The requirement to create a bookmark or navigate to the same location in the layout view adds unnecessary clicks and time to the process. I recently made a schema update to an existing field in my enterprise versioned geodatabase. I made the update using ArcCatalog field properties. I've since done a full compress and analyze on my database. I can see updated attribute information in a connection to the *_evw table for the feature class, but the updated field length is not reflected in the connection to the view. Do I need to unregister and re-register the dataset as versioned in order to refresh the _evw table? I've attempted to refresh the link in the ODBC connection without success.

I'm using 10.5 sp 5 and I'm finding that Feature Class to Feature Class will not write descriptions. Instead it will add the domain table to the output GDB as to satisfy the domain link in the field. I created a blank PGDB, used FC to FC with a domain linked FC as the input and a new layer as the output in the blank PGDB. After successful completion I see domain tables in my output PGDB and a Select By Attributes in ArcMap reveals that the layer is in fact referencing domain codes. Can ESRI confirm this behavior in 10.0 SP5? As I understand the post above, the environment variable is not available in 10.0 but the functionality was expected to have been built into the FC to FC geoprocessing tool. Is that correct? Thanks, Jerod
