This seems to be the best route, however I do not know if the client will want to invest that money on a server just to accommodate printing. (On top of the licensing for the web api)

I just can't print the screen. There will be other information on the screen as well. So I will need the ability to just create an image of the map only.

So you were able to just grab the parent map div and scrape to an image?

Do they provide a hosting option? The only need for the server we would have would be for the printing. I highly doubt they will want to spend that kind of money on a server just to accommodate printing.

So you are just scrapping the div container and everything that is in it? Also is this approach valid? I was trying to go down this route for Google Maps but was told it could be in violation of the terms of service.

I am a total noob to ArcGIS. I don't have a sever at this time and I am currently running on a dev trial to see if ArcGIS can accomplish what our business needs require. I'm not sure what kind of cost that this will entail to have this server instance.

How entailed is setting up the print service? I can test with the demo's out there and it works fine. However it is using an ArcGis sample server url.

How did you accomplish this with a screen scrape? There isn't a said image (tag) to scrape off the page.

Is there a simple example on how to add a polygon to a map? (Web API) I'm trying to add a polygon to a map and fill it in. Currently I have: <script> var map; require([ "esri/map", "esri/geometry/Extent", "esri/layers/FeatureLayer", "esri/symbols/SimpleLineSymbol", "esri/symbols/SimpleFillSymbol", "esri/symbols/TextSymbol", "esri/renderers/SimpleRenderer", "esri/geometry/Polygon", "esri/layers/GraphicsLayer", "esri/layers/LabelClass", "dojo/_base/Color", "dojo/domReady!" ], function(Map, Extent, FeatureLayer, SimpleLineSymbol, SimpleFillSymbol, TextSymbol, SimpleRenderer, Polygon, GraphicsLayer, LabelClass, Color) { map = new Map("map", { showLabels: true, //very important that this must be set to true! basemap: "streets", center: [-79.746933, 40.446949], zoom: 8 }); var graphicLayer = new GraphicsLayer(); var bCounty = new Polygon(loadBCounty()); map.addLayer(graphicLayer); graphicLayer.add(bCounty); function loadBCounty() { return [[-80.395815,40.477370], [-80.394242,40.477313], [-80.394242,40.477313], [-80.394050,40.477306], [-80.362057,40.477539], [-80.164173, 40.978097], [-80.164226, 40.979473], [-80.164877, 40.995214], [-80.165292, 41.000474], [-80.161159, 41.004532], [-80.154676, 41.010891], [-80.137160, 41.028076], [-80.460466, 40.477488], [-80.460466, 40.477488], [-80.448980, 40.477701], [-80.438175, 40.477783], [-80.395815, 40.477370] ] } </script>

Not an option. They have to be able to click a button and have that map image added to a document.
